## TimeChimp Reviews
  ### 1. Real visibility on the profitability of each project and client

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about TimeChimp?**

What benefits us the most is being able to log time on projects without it being a burden. We are a small agency where every hour counts and we always have several projects running in parallel, so having a reliable record of where the time goes has been essential to understand the real profitability of each client.
The interface is straightforward. You can log hours with a stopwatch, manually at the end of the day, or from the weekly calendar view, which is the one we use the most. Everyone works in the way that is comfortable for them and everything syncs the same. The integration with Google Calendar saves us a step that seems small but adds up: importing meetings as time entries instead of transcribing them manually.
The reports are the part we value the most. Seeing by project or by client how many hours we have spent compared to the budgeted ones allows us to detect in time when something is going out of scope, and to have that conversation with the client with data in front of us. Before, we managed it in spreadsheets and the information was always outdated.
The price is reasonable compared to other time tracking tools, and for small teams, the cost per user is worth it. The web app responds well with several active projects at once and the mobile app works for when you're out. We did the onboarding ourselves in an afternoon, without specific training. The automatic suggestions it has been adding (entry categorization, project templates) are useful to avoid setting up the same thing from scratch.

**What do you dislike about TimeChimp?**

The iOS app leaves much to be desired. Compared to the web, it lacks options, the reports are more limited, and it runs noticeably slower than on Android or in a browser. For someone who operates in the Apple environment and frequently logs time from their mobile (between meetings, during client visits), it's a real limitation; sometimes you have to wait to open the laptop to adjust entries, and that disrupts the flow.
The reports also fall short when you want to cross-reference data in your own way. For things like comparing profitability by service type among clients or seeing the evolution of non-billable hours, we end up exporting to Sheets and doing it manually. For a tool aimed at consultancies and agencies, I would expect more native flexibility there.
Basic logging is easy, but as soon as you get into advanced configuration (permissions by role, budgets by project, automations), the UX becomes complicated and the options are spread out in unintuitive places. The first time, you have to search quite a bit.
Integrations outside the Google ecosystem fall short compared to Toggl or Harvest. If you want to connect it with a more complex PM, a CRM, or specific accounting tools, you often have to go through Zapier, which adds cost and another point to maintain. The documentation covers the basics well, but when you get into specific cases, sometimes you have to write to support for things that should be resolved in the knowledge base. None of this is a blocker for us, but it's good to know.

**What problems is TimeChimp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, we used to keep track of hours in spreadsheets and the information was always outdated or incomplete, because recording time in an Excel manually is something that ends up being left for "later." With TimeChimp, the recording is quick (stopwatch, calendar, or manual entry at the end of the day) and the barrier to doing it on time is much lower. That alone has already changed us to have reliable data on how much each project costs in hours, instead of going by feelings.
What has benefited us the most is understanding the real profitability per client. Before, we didn't know for sure which clients were profitable and which ones were eating up our margin without us realizing it. Now we can compare estimated hours with actual ones and aggregate it by client, and that has allowed us to renegotiate rates with two recurring clients where the scope had been inflating over time, as well as better adjust estimates in new proposals.
It also gives us visibility on ongoing projects. Seeing how many hours have been consumed versus those budgeted in real-time helps us detect in time when something is going out of scope, instead of discovering it at the end when it's too late to react. This allows us to have more informed conversations with clients about changes or expansions, with data in hand.
For a small company like ours, where every team hour has a real cost, we've gone from "we believe this project is profitable" to knowing exactly how much it costs us and how much margin it leaves. This translates into better planning decisions and more realistic proposals.

  ### 2. Good foundation but still missing some nuances

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daan E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2023

**What do you like best about TimeChimp?**

Clear interface and generally user-friendly. Good basics. Affordable.

**What do you dislike about TimeChimp?**

- Project planning is not very user-friendly, quite complicated to figure out through the information on the knowledge base.
- That you cannot send a notification to a participant via email, for example, when planning.
- That you cannot schedule separate projects/tasks on the same day for the same employee, only a time block.
- Difficult to gain insight into what different employees have as an interface from the different roles.
- The CRM for customers is very basic regarding the contacts. More information would be very welcome there. Plus, when making a quote, you cannot choose which contact person you want if there are multiple per customer.
- Relationships are not visible as a user, which is inconvenient because it means it cannot be used as a CRM.
- You cannot merge two customers...
- If you already have a project and a separate quote, you cannot link them later, which is a shame.
- If you

**What problems is TimeChimp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a basic system that included the different components of a (project) administration. Time tracking, project planning, CRM, and personnel administration.

  ### 3. Fine work!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2023

**What do you like best about TimeChimp?**

We have been a business partner of TimeChimp for over three years now with great pleasure. We use various features offered by TimeChimp and are very satisfied with the possibilities provided. We also appreciate the personal approach and the quick and adequate response of the service staff.

**What do you dislike about TimeChimp?**

What will make TimeChimp complete is an option for writing down completed tasks. A note that allows your colleague to see what you last performed in the task.

**What problems is TimeChimp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TimeChimp provides an overview of the hours worked by employees. Billable hours and non-billable hours make administration much easier.

  ### 4. Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire T. | Eigenaar, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2022

**What do you like best about TimeChimp?**

TimeChimp is not only a very accessible program to work with, but it can - especially through the app - be used anytime and anywhere. This way, you won't forget to do your time tracking anymore. Moreover, I am sure that I won't miss any hours at the end of the month. Through the website, you can directly see in a convenient overview how many hours you have worked for which client during which period.

**What do you dislike about TimeChimp?**

In the app, I would also like to easily see the overview per employer, but so far this works well mainly on the desktop version.

**What problems is TimeChimp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Takes less time, make sure no hours are 'lost'

  ### 5. Exactly what you need to book your hours

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joost v. | Co-Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2022

**What do you like best about TimeChimp?**

Easy and simple to use. Effective and has more than enough features to keep a track of the hours done per project.
Also creating a overview per team member, per project, per date etc are all available

**What do you dislike about TimeChimp?**

Projects that are budget limited are somewhat uneasy to use; it works, but can be improved. Especially when more budget is added during the project due to additional work it takes some calculations which should be automatically done.

**What problems is TimeChimp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our team keeping track of the hours is vital. We use to do this within excel, but that required a lot of time and accurasy. In timechimp it of course automated and very easy.

  ### 6. Good integration with Yuki and PowerBI. It is also a program just like our vision "without hassle".

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars
