"An Intuitive and Flexible Learning Platform Backed by Excellent Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

What I like most about Thinkific is the flexibility it offers to build and manage a learning platform without needing extensive technical knowledge or development support. We recently launched a membership-based learning platform using Thinkific Plus, bringing together courses, digital resources, communities and subscription options.

The course builder is easy to use, and managing content, creating pages and making changes to the learner experience is fairly straightforward. I particularly appreciate being able to test different learner journeys and make adjustments ourselves without having to involve developers every time.

The range of features and integration options is another advantage, particularly when managing memberships, payments and other organisational systems. From a performance perspective, the platform has been reasonably stable throughout our development and testing, although we are still in the early stages of assessing its performance with a growing membership.

In terms of value for money, Thinkific Plus is certainly an investment, but having several important functions within one platform helps reduce the need for separate systems and additional development work.

One of the biggest positives has been the support from the Thinkific team. We have had some fairly specific requirements, particularly around user permissions, membership journeys and platform customisation. The team has been approachable, responsive and willing to work through these with us. The onboarding and ongoing technical discussions have been particularly helpful.

I am still exploring the AI features, so it is too early to comment on their practical value. Overall, Thinkific has given us a solid foundation to build on, and I appreciate that we can continue developing the platform as our needs evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I would not necessarily describe these as dislikes, but rather areas where there is still room for improvement as the platform continues to evolve.

Thinkific is generally an intuitive and user-friendly platform, although there are a few limitations when it comes to more advanced requirements. For example, some functionality around assignments and assessments is still being developed, and greater flexibility in customising certain aspects of the learner experience would be helpful, particularly for organisations managing more complex learning programmes.

We have also encountered a few minor technical glitches and situations where certain features do not work quite as expected. However, these have generally been manageable, and the Thinkific team has been proactive in investigating issues, suggesting alternatives and working with us to find practical solutions.

What I particularly appreciate is that the product team is receptive to feedback and genuinely interested in understanding how organisations use the platform. Not every requirement has an immediate solution, but there is a willingness to explore possibilities and consider improvements.

Overall, I see these as opportunities for continued development rather than significant drawbacks. Thinkific already provides a strong foundation, and I look forward to seeing how the platform evolves, particularly around advanced learning features, customisation and administrative flexibility. "Flexible, Easy Course Builder with a Polished, Professional Finish"
5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

The course builder is especially useful because it gives me enough flexibility to structure content properly while still keeping everything simple and manageable. I also like that the end result feels polished and professional for learners without requiring hours of design work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

One thing I dislike about Thinkific is that some of the customisation can feel a little restrictive once you move beyond the basics. The platform is very easy to use, but there have been times when I’ve wanted to make a small change to the course layout or learner experience and found that the options weren’t as flexible as I expected. "Thinkific Centralses Scalable Training with Structured Courses and Progress Tracking"
5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

Thinkific has been most valuable for giving us a central place to deliver and manage training at scale. We regularly use it to organise learning content into structured courses, track participant progress, and make sure everyone receives a consistent training experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I would like more flexibility when customising the learner experience. The platform works well out of the box, but some areas can feel quite templated, especially when you want the training portal to closely match your organisation’s own branding and internal processes. "Thinkific is a useful and comprehensive tool that supports materializing my online educational business."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

I have used the platform for several years, it has maintained its quality, I already have many courses hosted on the platform, it allows me to store many videos, it has an integrated payment platform and is very easy to configure, I can manage my course students in a very personalized way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

It is still confusing to navigate through the entire menu to configure the landing pages, and little by little they have been removing functions that were previously included in the basic package to move them to more expensive packages. I feel that the customization options of the basic package are increasingly limited. It is confusing and difficult to identify and remember what each section of the configuration menus is for, I get lost among so many options and although some seem to be the same, they turn out to be different. Response from Kyrie MeInyck of Thinkific

Hi Morelia—thank you for taking the time to explain how we can make Thinkific work better for you! I’ve relayed your feedback to our Product Team so that we can take this into consideration for our future roadmap.

Congratulations on creating your first course! We’re happy to hear our tutorials were helpful along the way.

"Helpful Account Manager, but Clunky User Management and Reporting"
4/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

I love having an account manager, Colin, because he responds quickly and helps with any enquiries or tasks we need done. Customer experience is very important to us, and he helps solve issues quickly and accurately. I also value Thinkific’s user profiles, groups, role assignment, and reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I find support outside our account manager takes a long time and involves a lot of back and forth. They take a long time to respond, then ask another question, and multiple people take over the case, which makes it confusing and takes longer to resolve things. I also can’t just remove a course from a user; I have to raise a ticket and ask Colin to delete the user from the platform and add them back with the correct roles. It would be helpful to download certificates in bulk for a group, and I’d like progress reports to be clearer and show more useful information about who still needs to complete training. "Easy Course Creation, but Scaling and LMS Management Fall Short"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

I love how easy Thinkific is to navigate for course creation. I like the organization and setup, which give me an outline as I build courses. The course organization helps learners and lets me work in small chunks as I build chapters and lessons. I also really appreciate the asset library, where I can exchange videos and photos without having to track them down again for every course. I can add a lesson straight into a chapter and drag and drop it, and the video library cuts a tremendous amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I find the LMS management side rather difficult. Bugs keep popping up, like archived courses showing up in places they shouldn’t, and problems with creating the site and providing links to clients. I don’t think the AI features are thought through very well, and the widgets don’t always work the way they’re supposed to. Thinkific also doesn’t offer many of the features we need to manage a large number of employees and users. It would be incredibly useful to put bundles within bundles, instead of building collections and learning pathways and assigning them separately. We were hoping Thinkific would offer something like Zapier, but it hasn’t yet, and I wish it had a gamification aspect. It has also gotten really difficult to scale with our growing company. Course creation is very easy, but setting up the client-facing side is extremely difficult, even still. I’m not sure Thinkific is suitable for large-scale use, especially for selling courses and delivering them to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Course Setup and Certificate Delivery, but Reporting Needs Work"
4/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

I like how easy Thinkific is to set up once I get the hang of it. It gives me a seamless process for completing and tracking courses, checking quiz completion, and issuing certificates right away. I also value being able to add courses, use multiple-choice quiz questions, and deactivate students while keeping their data. There’s always Thinkific support when I need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I found it difficult to get the reports we wanted. It took a few months to get to acceptable reports, and I still have to create two reports and copy and paste them into a master report. I’d also like a custom role that can pull reports when needed; right now, users can only process reports and have to go through an admin user to pull them. It took me a bit of time to get the hang of Thinkific, though it became easy after that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy course builder with useful features, but limited customization and branding."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

The course builder is easy to use and feels straightforward. The native email marketing features and the AI tools are also nice additions that make the platform more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I wish there were more customization options for branding. The font selection isn’t great, and it’s not possible to upload a custom font. The courses could also be more customizable overall, and the experience feels a bit clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Course Creation, Backed by Amazing Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

I like how easy Thinkific is to use and how easy it is to create a course from scratch. I can duplicate courses and strip down the products in them, and the support is amazing when I need help with that. I also like the feature for bundling multiple courses under one shell and the new AI assistant teacher. Thinkific makes it much easier for students to learn and track their progress, and the setup instructions are straightforward—anyone can build a course from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

I’d like to have the ability to combine multiple courses in one shell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Support, Limiting Factors"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Thinkific?

Thinkific Plus gives a lot of great templates and snips from which content editors can pull from, making the ease of implementation a smooth process. The customer support we have received so far with setting up our courses has been very helpful. When our Customer Success Manager doesn't know the answer to something, she is eager to reach out and find the answers we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Thinkific?

Thinkific does not offer a sandbox or dev environment where you can see code or content edits and draft those changes without them going live. Once a landing page or course is live, you need to push any additional edits live if you want to see how it looks. This does not allow for proper QA. While using videos for our courses, we are also running into data limitations, such as being unable to collect proper data on how the videos perform. Our company is trying to put out new content every week so it is essential we have the right data to keep us going in the right direction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
