Biggest thing is it looks at the whole project, not just the contract and the specs. It reads the drawings too and catches where they don't line up. That's where we get burned.
Good example. Concrete building, we had EMT going up through the slabs. The openings on the architectural drawings were undersized for the conduit we were supposed to run. Telamont flagged it before we got there. If we find that on site it's coring after the pour, waiting on the engineer, and then everybody arguing about who eats it.
The other thing is it knows what we're actually responsible for as the electrical sub, so what it flags is our stuff, not a generic list of project risks. And when something big comes up the agent actually works through it with me.
Side effect I didn't expect: the other subs and the GC call me now when there's a real problem on the job. They know I can get them an answer fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At first I had to load our docs into Telamont even though they were already in our management software, so I was keeping two copies of everything. That got tiring. Agent was also kind of slow to answer back then.
Not an issue anymore. They built the integration so it just pulls the docs straight from where we keep them and tags them itself. No more duplicating. It's a lot quicker now too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
