One challenge I’ve experienced with Synthesia is difficulty accessing the affiliate dashboard. Currently, I’m unable to log in, which makes it hard to track performance, manage referrals, or fully take advantage of the affiliate program. This kind of access issue can be frustrating, especially when trying to actively promote the platform and monitor results. While the avatars are impressive, they can sometimes feel slightly robotic or lack deeper emotional expression, especially for storytelling content, and also for small businesses or creators just starting out, the pricing may feel expensive compared to other video tools. It’s really easy to use, and it provides unlimited previews for fine-tuning the avatar’s voice. Also, the Photo avatar is much better than the legacy (video) one. Creation of new photo avatar is really quick and the time to generate videos is also OK.

I also really like the integration of Gen AI like Veo 3.1 for generating short B-roll videos and changing outfits.

In my organization we are using 100+ licences so the pricing per year is really affordable. We also have a dedicated Happyness manager, so support is really quick and pleasent.

In all honesty, the possibility of Streaming avatar and something like Mascot avatar would be really helpful. But I understand legislative issues connected to that.

Other than that, with Photo avatar there is an "issue", when you generate new Outfit or Space, it also changes a face of avatar a little bit, but it will be improved I believe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I used Synthesia to create videos for my eLearning modules. Compared with other platforms, the biggest advantage for me is the time savings. Synthesia saves a lot of time, and the videos are easy to edit. The characters are also good, and I can use AI scenes and characters as needed. The lip-sync works like a gem as well. The Synthesia platform has been very helpful for us in creating course lectures for our law school classes. I can input my PowerPoint slides along with content by our instructors and Dean to add to the class content on our LMS system for online classes. It was easy to pick different avatars for each course instead of using the same one or just a few "live" class instructors and make time to film their lectures for weekly course materials. My only dislike so far would be that a few videos have been flagged and I had to appeal to get them released. I think it is because the videos deal with elements of law, but we are a Law Scholl as I constantly explain in order to get them released and that they are only being used for course content and not the general public. What I like best about Synthesia is how quickly and consistently it allows us to create high‑quality training videos without requiring advanced video production skills. One downside of Synthesia is that the videos can sometimes feel a bit scripted or less natural compared to live‑recorded content, which requires extra effort to keep presentations engaging. There are also some limitations around customization and interactivity, so it’s not always the best fit for highly dynamic or discussion‑based training. I like Synthesia’s capabilities and how easily and quickly I can create a good video with it. The platform is simple to use and very intuitive. A crucial feature for me is its translation options: I translate my training videos into 20 languages, and the translation quality is very good. I can also see that it keeps improving over time. I miss some of the statistics. I think this should be more automated: I need to know how many views my videos are getting, and I’d like to be able to download an Excel report in a single file instead of clicking through videos one by one. Some editing features are also missing. Once a video is created, I ask people for feedback, and when they send me timestamps for what should be corrected, I can’t jump directly to that point. There’s a hard-set token limit, so you can’t go over your allowance. The next tier up is Enterprise with unlimited tokens, but depending on the organisation, the cost of moving to Enterprise can be a real deal-breaker for many SMEs that want to use Synthesia. I like how Synthesia has made it video-making so seamless. You can create the best product explainer, demo, social media, and storytelling videos in a few clicks. On top of it, you get to choose an AI Avatar from the various available options. The lack of customization after something is generated, ie. if it creates tiny text in a video there is no way to adjust it. If the video has been reviewed and everything else is great, now I have to try to cover up the text because you can't edit it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the interactive, intuitive avatar and the straightforward way to create videos, whether by using prompts or importing PowerPoints integration, several AI tools helps us to make videos easily. My organization uses Synthesia for most of our use cases, especially for presentations and how-to videos. The support agent is intelligent enough to give related links regarding any issue.
