It allows me to see details of an endpoint, and even solve problems without fully connecting to that endpoint. The central server mode was easy for admin of the system. Users could be quickly added by Active Directory group or by single users. The service could be installed remotely without any presence directly at the machine. As long as the PC name was know and an admin account was used, a connection was made.
