There is still room for improvement. The chat feature could be better, actual messages between clients and freelancers get mixed with system notifications, and sometimes that hinders communication. Smartcat is more than just a CAT tool; it’s both a platform and a portfolio where I can chat with clients and receive reviews. I also like how documents are split into segments, which makes projects easier to organize and manage. Customer Support is responsive and helpful. I get paid through their system, after the buyer makes a payment, I usually receive the money in my wallet within one or two days. I don’t have to follow up with the customer about payment, because Smartcat takes care of that for me. I simply accept projects, complete them, and then wait for the payment from Smartcat. I am very satisfied with Smartcat because it facilitates translation for me, especially when the original text contains HTML tags. I can enable all HTML tags with one click and then apply them in the translation. This feature ensures that we do not make any mistakes in the translation because Smartcat does not accept the translation without confirmation. Additionally, I like the ability to count and replace words in real-time. It becomes easy to know how many words I have completed. Regarding the need for improvement, I can say that if the client has a glossary in the original text, it should be apparent in the original text that a word is in the glossary. Other platforms like Crowd in show a dotted line under the word, which is helpful. Additionally, there should be a record of previous tasks in the translation history so that we can get information about past translations. Otherwise, Smartcat is perfect.
