## About Silo
Silo is a focused and lightning-fast standalone 3D modeler. Its deep modeling and UV mapping toolset has made it a favorite of pros for making game assets, movie characters, and objects for 3D printing. It’s a huge upgrade over the modeling tools of bloated all-in-one packages, and works hand-in-hand with industry standards like Maya, Blender, and ZBrush, and game engines like Unity and Unreal. ## Silo Reviews
  ### 1. Silo: 3d modeling for anyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard T. | 3D Environment Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Silo?**

Silo provides the easiest and fastest interface to learn 3d and develop or maintain a high level of skill in 3d modeling. The UI is clean, fast and uncluttered. The keyboard shortcuts are easy to understand and find. Customization is incredibly well done, easy to manage and use.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

Silo uses a hierarchy system similar to Maya with scene objects and groups independent of each other. My preference would be something similar to 3ds Max, AutoCAD, or Photoshop with nestable layers for greater control of object visibility and manipulation.

**Recommendations to others considering Silo:**

Silo is a dedicated 3d modeler with very good unwrapping tools. It provides the fastest and easiest route to beginning a career or hobby in 3d. More importantly professionals in the game and film industry also use it as an integral tool in their pipeline simply because it is so fast and capable. Its 3d Modeling and Unwrapping tools are as good as anything you'll find in the vastly more expensive software without the headaches of learning an incredibly complex interface and shortcuts.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem I had was when I began working in the gaming industry. Coming from an architectural visualization background, I didn't have the necessary skills to create the models required for game engines. I had to learn and develop those skills very quickly to contribute to the project, or I would soon be unable to participate. I forgo using more extensive software such as 3ds Max because they were too big, clunky, complex, and much slower than Silo. I developed my skills very quickly, which allowed me to take contracts for many other projects successfully.

Quite simply, Silo allows for the fastest 3d development of anything I've ever used, and I've used almost every available 3d design or modeling program out there since the 1990s. It just doesn't get any better.

It has advanced 3D designs giving one room to choose from the various design they offer.
It has great tutorials which makes it easy for new users to interact with it.

Silo is a great tool for 3D design. It is easy to use and highly capable.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silo had allowed us to come up with 3D designs for graphics .

  ### 4. A 3D modeling program

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny A. | 3D Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Silo?**

We are able to make use of this program to make 3D objects

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

Silo is a bit too expensive for the average user. You can find other programs that will do the same job for a lot less money some of them might even be free. You will have to have some previous background or spend a lot of time learning how to use this software,. The program has the tendency to crash at the worst possible moments. The program is missing point and rigging tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Silo:**

Try the Trial version and test it for youself

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We realized that the existing programs that we are using were much better then Silo

  ### 5. Underrated, powerful modeling software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Silo?**

No fluff, just powerful hard poly and organic modeling tools at a very affordable price point. Sensible layout and fully customizable hotkeys, very useful for some of the repetitive tasks that can be involved in edge loop modeling.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

Sometimes vertices would spike out into infinite space (some kind of geometry error) and my model would be corrupted.

**Recommendations to others considering Silo:**

Be sure to test it for your particular use case!

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes a team of modelers is needed on a tight budget. Silo's affordability and simplicity make it invaluable in this situation.

  ### 6. Awsome for Mobile games

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian L. | Brian , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Silo?**

It's very easy to create 3d renders for your apps.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

It can get a bit laggy at times. And sometimes the renders do not appear

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's made it easy for me to have a better workspace and an easier experience with the program

  ### 7. The software is true to its slogan of Zen modelling..

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Qareeb A. | Project Director, Computer Games, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Silo?**

A UI so simple and quick it will elude you to the power it possesses, as a purely modelling driven 3d application. With vertically no learning curve, I didn't ever use the help, everything was organized and familiar to me from a professionals standpoint. I was doing speed modeling of game characters and vehicles hours later.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

Well being pure 3d modeler Silo at its current direction, I believe can cement more user only refining on this medium as is, but I wish it also made textures for those models in that same "Zen" way. Then of course we can start talking about better shaders, just for prototyping your assets etc.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly finishing large amounts of complex modelling work on many projects levels props and characters with seamless organic proficiency.

  ### 8. Ez Pz Modeling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Silo?**

Got into game asset modeling for a game engine marketplace, and literaly loaded every 3d modeler out there then tried to make something on every one unaided. I almost gave up on my dreams with the learning curves that most had. Then I found Silo on sale for $50.00, no monthly fee, no ridiculous price, and recomended by a lot of people fighting the 3d blues. Last chance I loaded the free demo and built a whole under water habitat first sit down. No videos, no manual, no blogs, just modeling. Silo was hands down the fastest and the easiest 3d modeler out there to use. I now do modeling full time, and Silo is my go to for the bulk of it and all my UV work.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

I dislike the update schedule, and it’s not free “but well worth the price in my opinion” and it keeps me away from that backwards free flavor everyone loves, and I despize “talkin bout u Blender.” you’ might need a complementy modeler If you are doing anything needing fine finnish work I settled on with 3d Coat for this, and it’s a great pair to work with.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silo solves the mystery of the 3d world curve, and now I’m flat out smiling! :) FE

  ### 9. Average 3D modeler

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** beth a. | Video/sound production, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Silo?**

I like silo because it is really customizable. I am an advanced 3D design artist and I like having the freedom that I can get with this program. It is also fast program for rendering. There are also so good tutorial on the website the the company offers for free.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

Silo is kinda expensive. There are a lot of free 3D modeling programs out that can do about just as much as silo can. Silo can also take a long time to learn how to use it if you are new to 3D design. The program has also crashed several times while I have been using it and it did not save my progress. There are not rigging tools and point tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Silo:**

I would recommend trying the trial version of Silo before you buy it.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use silo for 3D modeling.

  ### 10. Silo 3D is a powerful program.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Silo?**

In my studio, we use Silo to model all kinds of objects and characters and import them into Strata Design for animation.

**What do you dislike about Silo?**

I do not like that it is not a program to do animation, but for modeling, it is very good.

**Recommendations to others considering Silo:**

For a beginner in 3D, this is a good program.

**What problems is Silo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, Silo is the tool for complete model design and to take them to other 3D programs such as Strata Design and others.
