## About SafeMailer
SafeMailer is a browser-based email encryption and compliance platform that lets business users send encrypted email and large encrypted attachments directly from Gmail and Outlook. There are no plugins to install, no MX record changes, no gateway to configure, and no software for IT to deploy. Senders keep working in the mailbox they already use, and recipients open protected messages by verifying identity with an existing Google or Microsoft account. Recipients never create a SafeMailer account, never set a password, and never manage a key. SafeMailer is built for regulated teams that need to prove control over what leaves the mailbox: healthcare practices sending ePHI, defense contractors handling controlled technical data, government agencies, financial services firms, legal teams, and education institutions. HOW SAFEMAILER WORKS The sender composes a message in SafeMailer from the browser, adds recipients, and attaches files. SafeMailer encrypts the message body and attachments, then delivers a secure access link to the recipient. The recipient verifies identity through an existing Google or Microsoft account and reads the message in the browser. The sender sees delivery and view activity in an audit trail and can revoke access at any point after delivery. CORE CAPABILITIES Encrypted email from Gmail and Outlook. SafeMailer runs natively in the browser alongside existing mail. No plugin install, no Exchange connector, no MX record change, no DNS cutover. Recipient identity verification. Recipients authenticate with an existing Google or Microsoft account. No recipient registration, no shared passwords sent over separate channels, no portal accounts to provision. One Time View. Senders can set a message to expire automatically after the first time it is opened, which is useful for offer letters, financial statements, medical records, and signed agreements that should not persist in an inbox. Access revocation after delivery. A sent message can be revoked after it has already reached the recipient. This closes the gap that ordinary email leaves open when a message goes to the wrong address. Per-message forwarding and download controls. The sender decides, on each individual message, whether the recipient can forward the message or download attachments. These are sender-enabled controls applied per message rather than defaults applied to all mail. Large encrypted attachments. SafeMailer supports encrypted file transfer up to 100 MB on the Free plan, up to 2 GB on Standard, and unlimited file size on Pro. This removes the common workaround of dropping regulated files into consumer file-sharing links. Audit trails. Every message records send time, recipient, view events, and expiration or revocation status, which supports breach investigation, HIPAA accounting of disclosures, and internal compliance review. API access. SafeMailer issues named API keys with creation dates, environment labels, last-used timestamps, and individual revocation, so encrypted delivery can be triggered from a CRM, billing system, patient portal, or internal application. SECURITY ARCHITECTURE SafeMailer encrypts data at rest with AES-256-GCM and protects data in transit with TLS 1.3. Key management follows a zero-trust architecture. SafeMailer is not an end-to-end encrypted or zero-knowledge product, and the platform does not claim to be. Buyers who require a strict end-to-end model should evaluate that requirement directly during procurement. SafeMailer maintains SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification. COMPLIANCE COVERAGE SafeMailer supports organizations working under HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, ITAR, CMMC, DFARS, CJIS, FERPA, ISO 27001, the FTC Safeguards Rule, FINRA, GLBA, PCI DSS, and SOX. A Business Associate Agreement is included on every plan, including the Free plan. Most encrypted email vendors reserve a signed BAA for paid tiers, which forces small practices to buy before they can legally send a single message containing protected health information. SafeMailer removes that barrier so a solo practitioner, a two-person billing office, or a clinic evaluating vendors can send compliant encrypted email on day one. WHO USES SAFEMAILER Healthcare providers, medical billing companies, dental and behavioral health practices, and health plans sending ePHI to patients, payers, and referring providers. Defense contractors and manufacturers in the defense industrial base sending controlled unclassified information and export-controlled technical data under ITAR, DFARS 252.204-7012, and CMMC requirements. Government agencies and public sector teams, including departments handling criminal justice information under CJIS policy. Financial services firms, accounting practices, wealth managers, and mortgage originators sending statements, tax documents, and account data under GLBA, FINRA, and the FTC Safeguards Rule. Law firms and corporate legal departments sending privileged material, settlement documents, and discovery files. Schools, districts, and universities protecting student records under FERPA. PRICING SafeMailer is priced per sender, not per mailbox. Only the person sending encrypted email needs a license. Recipients are always free and always unlimited. Free plan: 0 US dollars per month. One sender, 10 encrypted emails per month, attachments up to 100 MB, Business Associate Agreement included. Best for individuals and small teams evaluating secure email workflows. Standard plan: 47.99 US dollars per month. One sender, 500 encrypted emails per month, advanced encryption, attachments up to 2 GB, priority support. Best for organizations handling customer data across regular business communication. Pro plan: 96.99 US dollars per month. One sender, 1,000 encrypted emails per month, enterprise-grade encryption, unlimited file size, 24/7 dedicated support. Best for teams running high-volume, compliance-driven encrypted email programs. The Free plan is a permanent free tier, not a time-limited trial. There is no credit card requirement to begin sending. DEPLOYMENT AND REQUIREMENTS SafeMailer requires a modern web browser and an existing Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox. There is no client software, no browser extension requirement, no mail routing change, and no administrator deployment project. Typical time from account creation to first encrypted message sent is measured in minutes rather than weeks, which is the main operational difference between SafeMailer and gateway-based or appliance-based secure email systems. COMMON USE CASES Sending patient records, lab results, and treatment plans to patients and referring providers. Delivering CAD files, drawings, and technical data packages to subcontractors under export control. Transmitting tax returns, loan files, and account statements to clients. Sharing contracts, NDAs, and settlement documents with opposing counsel and clients. Sending offer letters, background check results, and payroll records from HR. Automating encrypted delivery from an internal system through the SafeMailer API. WHAT MAKES SAFEMAILER DIFFERENT Recipients do not register. Identity verification runs on Google and Microsoft accounts the recipient already has, which removes the single largest cause of failed secure email delivery: the recipient who abandons a portal signup and calls the sender instead. Control persists after send. Revocation, One Time View, and per-message forwarding and download controls apply after the message has left the sender's mailbox. Compliance starts at zero cost. A signed BAA on the free tier means regulated senders are covered before any purchase decision. Per-sender pricing. Organizations pay only for the people who send protected messages, not for every mailbox in the directory. GETTING STARTED Create a free SafeMailer account at https://app.safemailer.io/login and send an encrypted message from an existing Gmail or Outlook mailbox. No credit card, no install, no IT ticket.

**What do you like best about SafeMailer?**

I like that SafeMailer makes secure email much easier than I expected. The interface is simple and clean, and I can easily send encrypted messages and attachments. I can send confidential messages without changing my usual workflow too much, while features like one-time viewing and message expiration give me more control over sensitive information. It fits into my Gmail and Outlook workflow, so I can use my usual email tools while adding encryption and secure sharing. Setup was quite easy and straightforward, and our team got started quickly without much technical expertise. Recipients don’t need to install complicated extra software.

**What do you dislike about SafeMailer?**

I think SafeMailer could benefit from more integrations and customization options as it grows. More detailed activity logs and additional controls for managing encrypted messages would also be useful for teams. These are relatively minor improvements compared with the convenience and security it already provides.

**What problems is SafeMailer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SafeMailer to protect confidential emails and attachments, control message expiration, and securely share information with external recipients without relying on complicated workflows or asking them to install extra software.
