Plaid is awful to use. Their security and customer support are non-existent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Plaid has a major data-handling and privacy flaw that creates an endless loop of unwanted notifications. An unknown third party mistakenly registered my email address with their phone number. Because Plaid does not properly verify email ownership, I receive security alerts every time this stranger links or unlinks a bank account.
The built-in fix is completely broken: clicking "Click here to disconnect and secure your account" only severs that specific bank link—it does not remove your email from Plaid’s backend returning-user database. As soon as the other user reconnects their bank, the notifications resume.
There is virtually no way to stop this cycle. I have submitted privacy forms, sent bug reports, and attempted to manage it through their portal. Plaid provides no human customer service—only an automated bot that leads in circles, with zero response from actual support staff. Retaining unverified personal data and refusing to provide a functional opt-out is reckless for a financial technology company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
