The user interface and menus (UI/UX) aren’t very smooth, and it can be extremely frustrating to track down hidden menu options just to complete standard tasks, such as adding a device or creating groups of devices by location or device type. The MSSQL monitoring provides good visibility into database performance, CPU and memory utilization, disk space, database availability, query performance, sessions, connections, and other critical database health parameters.

While OpManager Nexus is a robust monitoring platform, its custom Business View map builder feels dated and rigid compared to modern drag-and-drop competitors, requiring manual layout tweaks that quickly become tedious for complex networks. Additionally, the network simulation and visual topology capabilities fall short—there are limited options for simulating traffic flows, failure scenarios, or synthetic user transactions without leaning on external modules or advanced scripting. We required a tool that could be easily and rapidly implemented due to our infrastructure being spread across multiple countries, and OpManager provided us with that capability. Although there were some legal issues with signing the contract, once it was implemented, it proved to be highly beneficial and user-friendly. The support provided is also of high quality. OpManager is an excellent jack-of-all-trades platform that provides a broad range of monitoring capabilities across different platforms, along with a solid set of integrations with external tools for additional customization. The product can sometimes feel like it lacks deeper, drill-down detail—for example, the ability to hone in on a single IP across Netflow data. There are also a few minor pain points, such as not having historical, graphical widgets available for dashboards.
