## Onna Reviews
  ### 1. Streamlined and reliable information management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna’s unified search across diverse data sources is efficient and intuitive. It integrates well with tools like Slack, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, which saves considerable time during investigations and compliance reviews. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, even for non-technical users.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

The initial setup and configuration can be a bit technical without guided support. Some integrations, while helpful, require manual intervention to sync or refresh, which slows down workflows in fast-paced environments. Reporting options could also be more customisable.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna solves the problem of fragmented data across multiple platforms by centralising information from tools like Slack, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace into a single, searchable environment. This simplifies legal holds, eDiscovery, compliance reviews, and internal investigations. It saves time, reduces the risk of missing key data, and improves overall efficiency in managing digital information.

  ### 2. An excellent tool, better service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pra C. | General Counsel, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Onna?**

My customer success experience at Onna has been unlike any other I've had in my professional life or, frankly, outside of work. The team at Onna is above top-of-market for their professionalism, courtesy, deep commitment to understanding my business needs and how they interact with Reveal current or upcoming product features, transparency, collaboration, stability, and friendliness. Our monthly check-in is the only call I consistently look forward to seeing on my calendar.

Onna as a product has been excellent for us. It's a really useful insurance policy for us that gives me peace of mind. I am always looking for ways to stabilize costs and make my budget contingency-proof. The Onna team is laser focused on that goal. Rather than trying to simply sell me every new feature, they have partnered with me, become an extension of my team, and only bring me product offerings that are relevant and tailored to my strategic goals. They are true partners, and I value them immensely.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

None that I can think of. The product has become increasingly sophisticated, customizable, and user friendly. Besides which, they have always been incredibly receptive to user feedback. So far, there's nothing I absolutely need from Onna that it can't do.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna is a cost stabilization solution. We never anticipate - and, like most peer companies, try to avoid - litigation that proceeds into the discovery phase. At the same time, my budget contains very little margin for contingencies. I simply don't have the flexibility to absorb the massive costs that discovery could entail. This problem is especially pronounced in our Slack universe. Onna is an upfront, fixed cost that enables me to minimize contingency-based variance in my legal spend. For me, having stable legal costs is more important than keeping them low but subject to massive change. Onna enables me to do that, and their team is laser-focused on helping find more ways to achieve that goal for me.

  ### 3. Onna excels in legal compliance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anshuman S. | Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Its powerful unified search saves hours by pulling data from multiple platforms (email, cloud, chats) into one place.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

The pricing model can be opaque and expensive for mid-sized teams, with steep jumps for additional data or features. Sometimes it is sluggish in performance when handling very large datasets.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna eliminates data silos by unifying search across platforms, cutting hours of manual collection for eDiscovery/legal holds. This reduces compliance risks and accelerates audits or investigations with AI-powered insights.

The Onna team is extremely professional and easy to partner with on opportunities. They provide a unique solution to the market that helps us support our clients' needs.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

There have been times when Onna was trying to branch out into new service areas. It seems like they can go a lot deeper in their connector development and be a best-of-breed solution as part of the Reveal family.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna allows us to easily connect into products to collect cloud source data that would normally be very challenging without this solution.

  ### 6. Slack Connection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna's integration with Slack is a game-changer for data management, simplifying the collection, processing, and digestion of Slack data with ease. It automatically captures messages, channels, and shared files in their native formats, making it easy to search, index, and extract critical information. This seamless integration streamlines workflows, reduces time spent on data management, and ensures that even non-technical users can efficiently navigate and utilize Slack data, making Onna an essential tool for any organization relying on Slack for communication.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

One drawback of Onna is its occasional slow performance, which can be frustrating when working with large datasets.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna solves the problem of managing and accessing vast amounts of unstructured data from multiple sources, like Slack, by centralizing and organizing it in one platform. This benefits me by streamlining data collection, making it easier to search, retrieve, and analyze information quickly. Ultimately, this saves time and improves efficiency in legal and compliance workflows.

  ### 7. Onna's Breakthrough in eDiscovery: The Power of Streamlined Data Collection and Preservation"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna stands out for its comprehensive data integration capabilities, allowing seamless integration with a wide range of data sources, which is particularly beneficial for managing diverse data across platforms. It features advanced search functionality that is essential for in-depth data analysis and legal discovery. The platform is also appreciated for its user-friendly interface, making it accessible to users of various technical levels. A strong focus on data security and compliance with data protection regulations makes it a reliable choice for handling sensitive information. Onna's support for multiple platforms and modalities help it stay a clear leader. Onna is notably effective in eDiscovery and legal compliance contexts, offering real-time data synchronization to ensure the most current information is always available. Additionally, its customizable export options cater to specific user needs, and the platform’s scalability makes it suitable for both small businesses and large enterprises.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

While Onna excels in many areas, there are a couple of aspects that could be enhanced for an even more robust experience. Firstly, the platform could benefit from improved central management and distribution of authentication tokens among custodians. Implementing a more sophisticated custodian authentication management system would streamline access control and permissions management, particularly in complex scenarios involving multiple custodians or large data sets.

Additionally, enhancing API flexibility is another area where Onna could see improvement. Greater flexibility in working with APIs, including the provision of additional pipelines and customization options, would significantly elevate the user experience. Allowing users to create their own DIY connector modules, akin to BrowserFlow, would be a particularly valuable addition. Such a feature would enable users to tailor the platform more precisely to their specific data sources and requirements, offering enhanced adaptability and efficiency in data integration and management.

Together, these enhancements in custodian authentication management and API flexibility would significantly augment Onna's capabilities, making it an even more powerful tool for data integration and management in various professional contexts.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna has been instrumental in streamlining the eDiscovery and digital forensics processes for our organization. Its robust connectors for various platforms have simplified the collection of data from typically challenging sources. This has significantly enhanced our efficiency in gathering crucial data for legal cases and compliance audits. By consolidating data from disparate digital environments into a single, accessible platform, Onna has not only reduced the time and resources typically spent on data collection but also improved the thoroughness of our legal searches and investigations. This comprehensive data aggregation is particularly beneficial in ensuring no critical information is overlooked during eDiscovery processes. Additionally, Onna's centralized approach to data management has greatly assisted in maintaining clearer oversight of our digital data landscape, which is vital for effective digital forensic analysis and reporting. Overall, Onna's capabilities in these areas have provided us with a more streamlined, efficient, and thorough approach to handling eDiscovery and digital forensic tasks.

  ### 8. Valuable partner who is receptive of & responsive to feedback.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Onna?**

The platform continues to iterate in ways that benefit us and our cloud-first technology stack. And the vendor relationship is one of the strongest ones in our portfolio.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

User interface has not inspired confidence with non-technical stakeholders. (Though, to Onna's credit, I know this is an area they are actively working to improve on.)

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna is a single-pane-of-glass for implementing our legal hold requests across connected cloud platforms. It's also the primary ediscovery platform for our stakeholders.

  ### 9. ONNA is an effective tool to address problems in real time without resort to days-long triage.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Onna?**

The service provided is quick, thorough and easy to understand. The tool makes for easy navigation of collected documents and provides multiple displays of the information received, so that the most thorough-going and point specific demands for documents can be satisfied.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

There have been some bug issues that have slowed down select exports; that said, there are solutions to these obstacles. The bugs are an impediment, but, as there have been solutions to each problem presented, they're not fatal to the collection process.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complete collections (family members; metatags) over a representative number of connected sources. The need to hunt frantically for attached docs, PDFs, etc., is always met, not worried over.

  ### 10. Great Solution for e-Discovery and Archiving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna allows for a centralized platform to collect data from a number of data sources. It allows for customized target collections and filtering prior to syncing and has the ability to grant access to individuals or teams for reviewing the collection.

The Onna team have always been responsive and helpful when we contact them and they are always willing to make product changes based on client feedback.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

The product is not user friendly and data collection can be difficult at times, but the team at Onna are very responsive and will usually have a solution in a timely manner.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Onna as an e-discovery tool and archiving solution to collect data from cloud sources. It has made it easier for us to produce the documents needed as part of investigations and litigation cases.

  ### 11. Great tool for common data sources

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna is great for evaluating and exporting data from many commonly used data sources. They have a wide selection of available data connections and their support team is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

Requires some planning on the user's part, particularly for larger data sets, to ensure collections can be completed in a timely manner while being mindful of any data usage constraints.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna has been a great help by allowing us more freedom to search and export our Slack data in a usable format. The collection process is particularly smooth for smaller collections.

  ### 12. Excellent aggregation of Slack GRID

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emmi C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

We have a massive amount of workspaces and Onna makes it easy to quickly and efficiently search for people/messages/files across every single one of them. The ease and the efficiency of searching makes Onna great for our uses.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

Sometimes when exporting search results, especially more considerable amounts of results, the export will hang, giving very little clue as to why. It also often takes several hours to get notified that the export failed. It would also be super helpful if there was a way to text-query with the advanced search feature instead of the query-builder.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly and efficiently searching across a large number of workspaces is an absolute breeze with Onna. The ability to create Advanced searches with many conditions really helps us pare down our search results and get to exactly what we are looking for.

  ### 13. Onna makes legal holds easy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sierra V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna makes it easy to put legal holds in place in regards to our Slack instance. The customer success team is knowledgable and is always looking for ways for us to get the most value out of our plan. There are more tools besides Slack that are available to bring into Onna as well.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

Some aspects of the admin dashboard are not easy to navigate, and it took more time than it should have to set up the permissions/connections with Slack. Sometimes trying to get to the window we needed to perform an action wasn't clear.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this for eDiscovery at my organization and connect it to our Slack instance to help our legal team. It syncs the data and allows for preservations of data that are held regardless of retention.

  ### 14. Discovery use review.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lissette L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

The customer service and the people. I like being able to provide feedback on new services. However, there should be a steep discount for the time given on rolling these out, but instead, our support time response was rolled back, and the price went up.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

The integrations should have a higher security standard. Once the connections are in place - the data pulled should be more inclusive, especially when it comes to JIRA tickets. Salesforce data pull should also be able to draw more than just the essential data. Workspaces, preservations and in-place preservations - these options are confusing, and the differences should be laid out more clearly.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulling data from JIRA and slack. Would like to be able to pull data by exact search or narrow down the date - rather than a date range.

  ### 15. Some good, some not so good.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

The platform is very user-friendly and easy to use. If you are looking to run searches on emails, this is a very helpful tool. The customer service folks are also very helpful and nice.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

The time for Google products to sync into Onna is painfully long. It is hard to explain to outside counsel that we need multiple weeks to sync data before we can even start to run searches, export to a traditional ediscovery vendor, etc.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna allows us to have a central platform of documents to review before we hit the discovery stage in litigation.

  ### 16. very interesting tool for data management, knowledge management, and more.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel V. | Intake Process Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

The layout and functionality of the software are very intuitive. It shows real thought went into the platform as it was designed. It was better than previous, less stable solutions.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

Responses times from Onna support is sometimes a little laggy, and the training section could use a little more content...but it's been getting better.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna has been helping some of our systems in cross-platform environments, to connect data and perform extensive search functions. It has helped us increase productivity and see better results than our previous solution.

  ### 17. Onna is a great product for ediscovery

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Customer service and client outreach is very good, the team we have in place is always responsive and helpful whenever we reach out with questions.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

There are bugs that pop up more often than I would like. The engineering team is usually responsive but turnaround time can be slow.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Onna as an e-discovery tool and it currently hosts our Slack and Quip databases on its platform.

  ### 18. Reviw

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chavay W. | Paralegal, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Onna?**

I like the search functionality. I like the new update, which allows us to see additional metrics when uploading and exporting.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

I think the product is not as user friendly as expected. We have ran into a lot of collection issues that I wished we didn't experience.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were experiencing some collection issues as it relates to google suite, at this time we have still had issues doing this.

  ### 19. Great, support and partnership team have been engaging and answered our needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Onna?**

the number of data sources that is support and the fact that custom metadata is also preserved as part of that collection exercise. Coupled with the ability to target collections and filter prior to syncing. The preoactive sync is also something unique against the other tools we have.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

the search and overal layout of the results. It something hard to get a clear picture of data when you want to focus on one custodian or a channel. Maybe a file tree or filterable table view that shows more

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

custom data sources that are not the norm such as salesforce, zendesk. Those data connectors allow us to increase our service capabilities for our clients.

  ### 20. Slack Archiving and Legal Review

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Onna?**

Onna is an excellent tool for archiving a copy of all Slack communication with the ability to give rights to HR and Legal teams to perform reviews and logging.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

There is a bit of a learning curve to the search query but once you get familiar with it the search functionality can be a powerful tool.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal Holds

HR Violations

Data Recovery

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

I love the customer service and willingness to make product changes based on client feedback.

**What do you dislike about Onna?**

I would like crisper UI and deeper integrations with products like Salesforce and Zendesk.

**What problems is Onna solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onna can assist with preserving and accessing company data within SaaS solutions at a moderate price range with little setup.

  ### 22. Functional and usable e- discovery software at a highly competitive pricepoint

E-discovery and and time management, firm billing capacity
