"Simplifies HR Tasks with Intuitive Self-Service"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Namely?

I love Namely's robust employee self-service portal, which allows our team to submit PTO requests, update personal details, and access signed HR documents independently. This feature is a huge time saver, cutting routine HR inquiries and admin work. The portal was also really helpful when onboarding contract recruiters, as they could complete paperwork and policy reviews directly. Additionally, Namely's intuitive interface is a big plus, helping us avoid compliance gaps without needing in-house IT support. The automated tracking of PTO balances is another aspect I appreciate, solving spreadsheet errors we had in the past. Finally, its reasonable pricing is a key benefit for our small team, allowing us to centralize our internal HR tasks without breaking the bank while focusing on client recruitment projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely’s custom reporting tools feel limited for our HR consulting workflows at Summit HR Partners. We cannot easily build combined reports tracking internal staff hours alongside contractor recruitment milestones. We must export raw data and manually compile spreadsheets for client compliance reviews. Its native recruiting features are also basic, so we cannot track candidate pipelines within the platform. With no dedicated IT staff, these gaps add extra manual work, slowing us down when we need to quickly pull deliverables to meet tight client hiring deadlines. "Reliable HRIS for Secure Data Management"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Namely?

I like Namely's consistent employee-roster export capability. It really helps when HR processes hires or terminations. I can pull these files to update permissions across our video conferencing and MCU systems, which prevents stale user accounts from lingering. I also appreciate Namely’s clear role-based permission settings for HR data access, allowing me to pull only necessary employee metadata without exposing sensitive payroll details. This separation helps keep our IT workflows secure and ensures we're CCPA-ready for our quarterly security audits. These features drive our use of Namely as a source-of-truth HRIS, letting me maintain an accurate and compliant digital environment for our multi-state distributed workforce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely lacks robust native API webhook triggers for real-time employee status changes. Right now I have to manually run roster exports instead of auto-syncing to our UC and MCU infrastructure. Delays can leave terminated staff with lingering video-meeting permissions. There is also limited log filtering for IT consumers, adding extra work when compiling CCPA-aligned audit evidence for our Dallas quarterly security reviews. "Streamlined HR with Manual Compliance Work"
4/5
What do you like best about Namely?

I like Namely's clean, employee self-service portal for our distributed teams in California and Washington. It allows staff to update personal info, review pay stubs, and submit time-off requests without HR tickets, which cuts our HR ticket volume drastically. I'm fond of Namely’s configurable reporting builder, as it lets me pull turnover and headcount snapshots quickly for quarterly audit reviews instead of compiling messy Excel spreadsheets. The automated time-off reminder notifications also reduce follow-up emails for our people-ops team. The self-service portal and the reporting builder simplify new-hire onboarding checklists and support our quarterly HR audit prep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely’s native benefits‑carrier integrations can be unreliable, especially for multi‑state teams in California and Washington. It often mismatches ACA‑related enrollment data during open‑enrollment cycles, and its CCPA‑ready HR data‑export templates are quite limited. This means I end up spending extra hours manually reconciling records, and occasional report‑loading slowdowns make quarterly audit preparations more time-consuming. I also wish it offered real‑time error alerts for benefits‑carrier syncs and had built‑in CCPA‑ready export templates to auto-filter employee data, as I'm currently manually editing CSV files, which adds hours to our audit prep work. When we pair it with other software, like our ATS, sync glitches sometimes result in the need for manual cross‑verification of employee records. Additionally, configuring multi‑state payroll rules and benefits‑carrier syncs required substantial manual tuning, taking multiple workdays to meet compliance needs. "Great Navigation, but Turnover Reporting and Reports Setup Need Major Improvement"
2/5
What do you like best about Namely?

Namely is very easy to navigate, and the landing page is especially helpful. The platform also makes it easy to give employees instant recognition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

The reports are very difficult to set up and the standard reports are not very helpful. Each quarter I have to report turnover. The graphics provides all the data needed EXCEPT the actual turnover report. I then had to calculate this manually. I felt this was ridiculous because the data is there but it would not give the turnover rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Basic HR Tool with Scaling Limitations"
2/5
What do you like best about Namely?

I like that Namely's UI is nice to look at. The features allow for basic account management and payroll management. It helps our HR team manage the workforce of our company and ensures everything is recorded properly and everyone gets their pay on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Namely is very basic. It doesn't do a ton of the more advanced capabilities with an HR management tool. And as our company grew, we weren't able to scale, and Namely sort of became a mess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Platform with Deteriorating Support"
3/5
What do you like best about Namely?

I probably like the easy user interface of Namely, which feels like using social media with all the critical information in the right place. Our team often describes it as a user interface like Facebook, and it's intuitive and easy to understand because many people have used Facebook before. I also find the customer support easy to reach, with many different methods to contact them, which is treasured by us. The initial setup was very easy and fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

While it's easy to reach support, the quality has fallen over time. It feels like as time passes, the expertise and knowledge of support and system support has been falling. The system definitely feels like it's not being updated anymore and just maintained. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kapil Kumar of Namely

We appreciate you sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear the platform has been easy to use and that the integration between HR, payroll, and support has worked well for your team.

At the same time, your comments about how the platform has changed over time and the need to maintain flexibility and expertise really stand out. That’s helpful for us to understand and take into account as we continue to improve.

"Feature-Rich and Customizable, but Not Always User-Friendly"
3/5
What do you like best about Namely?

It has a lot of features and things you can customize. Wide variety of reports to access.

Used to use it often - like several times a week.

Didnt have a chance to integrate it, as it came with our aquisition. Didnt have a need to implement it at that time as it was done for us, but it was difficult to sunset the program.

It was relativly easy to use once you knew how to use it, but I would say it was hard to find some features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Not always super user friendly, and glitchy. Have to go to 2 places sometimes to make a setting work.

Had to lean on support a lot to figure out why things were not working properly - didnt set them up properly.

Benefits administration was glitchy, as if we did not renew- it still renewed automatically with all benefits carriers, and this was not clear, and caused us a lot of issues at the time of sunsetting the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kapil Kumar of Namely

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s great to know that the platform’s customization, reporting, and integrated HRIS and payroll features supported your team.

We also recognize your feedback on usability, navigation, and the challenges you encountered with benefits administration and during the transition. Your input is appreciated and helps inform ongoing enhancements.

"A Solid HRIS for Growing Teams with Room for Customization"
4/5
What do you like best about Namely?

Namely has been a helpful HRIS for our growing organization, especially when it comes to centralizing core HR functions like onboarding, payroll, and performance management. The interface is clean and generally intuitive for both employees and admins, which helps reduce confusion and cuts down on HR inquiries. We’ve especially appreciated its employee directory and org chart features, which make navigating the team structure easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

Customizing workflows for onboarding, offboarding, or promotions can be limited without involving support, and reporting could be more flexible and insightful out of the box. We'd love more user-friendly dashboards tailored to HRBPs and leadership with real-time data like turnover, DEI metrics, and engagement insights. It would also be great to have more control over document storage. Think tagging, version control, and permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lesley Groff of Namely

It's great to hear that Namely is helping you stay organized and streamline your HR tasks. We value your feedback on the time-saving benefits and the positive impact on employee experience. We'll continue to enhance Namely to better support your team and improve efficiency.

"NAMELY amazing HR services"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Namely?

Namely is our to-go HR platform for all our employees information, attendance tracking, payroll, information dissemination and performance review system. What I like with this platform is that HR system is all-in one and available 24 hours! Whether you need to submit a vacation leave or want to view HR announcement or other employees information, you can access the platform conveniently at your own home or office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Namely?

I think they need to add additional features such as graphics for better app experience. Other app integration would be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
