Restoration is also easy to do. I had to learn my way around how to do the initial setup and it worked perfect for a few months until it just stopped working. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** Customer service is terrible/non-existent. My backups were working fine until they just stopped working one day. I raised a ticket to get the issue resolved, and they spent three weeks trying to solve it without any luck. They do not get on calls, there is no chat support, and the only way to communicate is via email, which is extremely slow considering the severity of the issue. In my case, they spent three weeks trying to fix the issue, and one day they just stopped responding to emails. I looped in the relationship manager for my account, and she also did not respond. They just gave up on the issue, and it has been over a week since I've heard back from them. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed a simple no-nonsense cloud backup solution that would not take much maintenance once you've set it up. Also, I didn't want to bother hunting and managing cloud destinations separately. The features of MSP360 are very user-friendly and it is quite stable. I like having the SAAS management console that allows me to check and maintain backups from anywhere. After setting up the backup, I have not had a single failure with the backups. I also like the feature allowing us to report both successes and failures and send them by email. The app (I am using the Android version) works well, and will push notifications reporting backup job success or failures. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** In all, there is nothing I have found that I do not like about MSP360. I had some minor hitches getting the process set up to begin with, but was able to contact support and get those issues quickly resolved. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were originally using CLI to sync backups with Amazon S3 storage. While this worked well enough, it would be hard to maintain going forward. It has all the features that are required for the product to operate as it should. The product also operates with very little overhead, particularly when compared to other products that I have used. The fact that multiple applications across multiple platforms can be backed up from one application is also a huge bonus for the product. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** Nothing; The app just works. I really can't think of anything that I don't like about it. Even the price is very good for what you get. I suppose if I just had to pick one thing, the documentation that goes with it could be better. At times it is like you are given the bare minimum of information at a time when you really could use more. Not a dislike so much as a place that could be improved. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** This product has allowed us to collapse into a single product for all of our backup needs. It allows for cloud-based backup AND local backups at the same time, which does nothing but saves time and effort. This includes multiple SQL backups, Exchange, and several VM hosts as well as your typical fileserver all complete with the possibility of system state backup. Restoration is also another area that this product saves huge amounts of time. A USB boot device and a system state backup and a server can be brought from nothing to operation in a very short amount of time. ### 11. I've used many other backup programs over the years, including the big boys everyone has heard of, and, while they back up just fine, restore seems to be a hurdle most can't clear. MSP360 just works. Tech support is great and problems are handled quickly. I know this sounds like a sales pitch, but I pay them full price monthly just like everyone else. I had a client with a Server 2008R2 that I knew was going to die. I backed it up with a "Fortune 500 approved" application and, since I had a feeling it wasn't going to end well, added MSP360 as a second backup for extra CYA. When the day came, I restored the physical server to a VMWare VM and it wouldn't boot. I then restored it to a Hyper-V VM on another host and it wouldn't boot. A few hours on tech support with the other vendor and they told me the old server was corrupt and I was SOL. I then tried restoring the MSP360 backup to VMWare and it booted right up. Did the same to Hyper-V and it also booted right up. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** SQL and Exchange backup VM backups require a second license and a second backup within that server to perform the application backup. Other vendors will let you mount the database from the VM backup and restore brick level. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backup AND restore. It sounds simple, but from the early days of Arcserve, experience has proven that "backup" software and "restore" software are not the same thing. ### 12. When I needed a particular function, it was easy enough to find. The agent pricing model was nice and fair. Local control or remote control for backups which is nice if you are already remoted into the pc/server working. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** Can't delete data without buying separate software (cloudberry explorer). Clunky slow been trying to delete a large account for weeks. Image backups are useless when restoring to dissimilar gear and based on windows backup. Needs to be more like rivals, Acronis, Datto, etc. But not as pricy as DATTO. Agents need to restart or worked on about 20% of the machines each day. Most are patched and current but the backup software struggles on some machines and not on others. There does seem to be more errors on average for me to fix daily than other providers I tested. Licensing management needs cleaned up as well. I always found licenses getting paid for with no machine or client that I had to disable. Like the machine was removed but the license was not released. With MSP's this is a pain and needs to be smooth. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Most of the problems that we solved have gone away unfortunately with new modern backups so we have moved on to a new solution as it felt like they were not keeping with the time. ### 19. The backups constantly fail and the logs, diagnostic tools to tell you what is going on are difficult to decipher. Getting help from support is quick but they don't help a whole lot. Maybe I don't understand some parts of what is in the documentation but I think it's because they don't try to make it easy to just setup and run. You're pretty much on your own. There are other products that I have been looking at that I may go with and drop MSP360 due to the difficulties I've had. The backup is also supposed to work the RMM I use but it's broken and neither party involved help figure out why that is. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have an option to sell backup services to my clients and make recurring revenue. ### 20. Supports both Desktops, Servers and Virtual. The updates they have released over the past few months have really grown the product and show it's actively being worked on to offer more without the price going up. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** The handling of full backups (Synthetic) with incremental could still use work. Other solutions will let you do daily incrementals where you set the max age and it will automatically roll up the full backup to the date of where the incrementals will drop so that you have the restore point from that date on. Instead you have to run a full backup and only at that point will it remove incremantals that have past the retention date. So it does take up more storage space as a result. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Does not rely on local hardware such as a NAS or other storage location that many other solutions require for offsite backups to work. Keeps my clients secure with a working backup that should something happen can be quickly restored off site or in the cloud. ### 21. Server backup is easy, and does not fail often like some others. Remote access with 'Connect" is easy enough to install remotely or on-site, and is pretty reliable. **What do you dislike about MSP360 Backup?** There are some changes that need implemented on the remote access solution, like better unattended access, and allowing more customizations on remote installs. Sometimes the Remote Access solution locks and won't allow mouse clicks until reconnected. **What problems is MSP360 Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to access many remote computers where needed and I can log in unattended if I set the program up to start with Windows. That way, the drive I needed during our bare metal restore test would have been available. The support team is working on it for more than 6 months. As MSP we might need to move the account to induvial user. this feature is missing, other providers have it. As a small business owner with the necessity of saving tonns of massive raw media files, I've been looking for a quick and elegant solution for backing my media structures up for a long time. Main of my wishes was the connection speed and reliability - the volume of my backup is about of several TB now and going to rising later, so I didn't want spend a lot of time controlling if every file or a folder of my data were uploaded to vault properly; I also have no special trained sysadmins for helping me so I just wanted relay on software that solves my issues. In addition, it should have been neither costly and complicated nor having a complex, not user-friendly interface - so that I wouldn't spend a lot of time and energy performing my backup. Sounds sort of unbelievable? Nevertheless, I had to spend some time surveying the issues and comparing a lot of software, trying trial and free versions, etc, but in most of it I wasn't satisfied at all, both about the lack of usability, plain user interface and of course about the speed of connection the software would upload my data. Eventually I stumbled upon MSP360 software and was really surprised the great usability and in particular the speed and the quality of bandwidth it keeps while uploading the TBs of my data to Amazon vaults.
