Over the past few years, we, as a hosting company, have used many backup solutions. However, we were always looking for a better match, because they never fit 100% in our environment. We started by using the free version and were very pleased with the results. After a good discussion with the sales and technical guys from Nakivo, we decided to move forward and purchase paid licenses. If there is a downside, it would be the long wait when restoring a particular file from weeks ago. It can take quite some time to restore, for example, a backed-up file of 30 GB. However, since I was using the free version and I’ve experienced the support team’s technical expertise and knowledge, I’m confident I could achieve much better results. I like many things about NAKIVO. First, it is a very efficient solution for backups and the recovery time is minimal. The real-time replication feature still requires some improvements. For example, when the target system fails, the replication fails and does not restart automatically even if the target system becomes functional again. It is always necessary to restart manually, whereas a script could be implemented to monitor the status of the target system and automatically restart the job. Moreover, when the RTR job is in progress, backups cannot be performed on the affected virtual machines, which requires manually stopping the RTR job to start the backup, an action that could be automated. What I like most about NAKIVO Backup & Replication is its ease of use and versatility. The interface is intuitive, allowing for quick configuration and management of backups and recoveries, and it supports multiple environments such as virtual, physical, cloud, and Microsoft 365 from a single platform. What I don't like about NAKIVO Backup & Replication is that some advanced features require a steeper learning curve, the documentation could be clearer in certain cases, and several important capabilities are only available in higher editions, which can limit its use if a more economical solution is sought. Sometimes the interface feels a bit clunky, which can make finding settings less intuitive. I’d also love more detailed reporting to get clearer insights into backup performance. NAKIVO Backup & Replication stands out as a reliable and intuitive data‑protection solution. I use NAKIVO Backup & Replication as my core solution for backing up all PCs and servers, and it's very easy to use. The user experience with the GUI complements my own skills well. I really appreciate the feature to add third-party applications for protection, like m365, Teams, and SharePoint. Also, the process of backing up my SQL server and VMs is simplified with NAKIVO. I find their documentation extensive, which made the initial setup very easy. I previously used other backup clients but choose NAKIVO for its competitive pricing while offering a solution similar to others. I have recommended it to my customers. I really like NAKIVO Backup & Replication for its striking simplicity without sacrificing power. The initial setup was relatively simple and convenient, with no difficulties or challenges. I also appreciate the Screenshot Verification feature, which, although a small feature, has a massive psychological impact. After a backup job runs, NAKIVO can automatically boot the VM from the backup file in an isolated environment, take a screenshot of the OS loading, and log the result. The advanced integration gap is something I don't like. It lacks tight integration with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow or Jira Service Desk for automated ticket creation on backup failures, unlike larger competitors. I really like NAKIVO Backup & Replication's Flash Restore feature, which helped us quickly determine if the restore point was clean from ransomware. The Immutability feature offers assurance that we are protected from good backups being wiped out. The cost is also a huge plus—it is 10 times less than our previous option. I appreciate its configurability as we are not limited by software restrictions or poor features, making it very robust. Most importantly, the live phone or Google Meet support with a software engineer is invaluable. Setting it up was very easy as NAKIVO assisted via Google Meets. My experience with NAKIVO Backup & Replication over the past year has been nothing short of transformative. Having managed backup systems for 18 years, I can confidently say that NAKIVO provides the best management experience of any enterprise tool I have used. The product delivers on its core promise: reliable, fast, and simple data protection.
