Ease of use and very graphical interface with several great pie charts. Its dashboard is easy to navigate and all the information is easy to review. I'm able to navigate and load information I need without requiring a lot of training. The speed at which everything loads is also nice. Cove Backup offers services for M365, servers, and workstations, and performs these tasks effectively. One notable issue is their pricing structure. Having used this product for over 8 years, it appears that N-ABLE prioritises their own profits, which reduces flexibility for MSPs. While a higher price can be justified for a quality product, N-ABLE's pricing tests the boundaries of what is acceptable. There are also significant space limitations with their server and workstation backups, making them less competitive as competitor offerings are priced at least 50% lower than N-ABLE. The recent improvements to the centralized dashboard have made monitoring backups across multiple devices much easier. I also really like the addition of proactive alerting and reporting features they help ensure we never miss a failed backup. While Cove Data Protection works well overall, the initial setup could be improved by making retention policies and storage location configuration more visible during onboarding. Currently, setting up custom retention requires navigating through several menus, which isn’t very intuitive for first-time users. For me the best things about Cove is how easy it is to install, manage and browse backups. The entire process from start to finish is so easy and if theres anything that trips you up then N-Able have great resources so you can learn. Installation is as easy as a script. The solution is moving closer to the Proxmox world, and for all users who are abandoning the VMware world, this is a great thing. When you back up a hypervisor like Microsoft Hyper-V and need to recover a single file from a VM, it requires installing a virtual drive that is set to the local drive letter B:. Native reporting continues to be the one main sticking point for us. The reliability and ease of use is definitely the first that comes to mind. Was it not for the confirmation reports to remind me, Cove would almost be a set and forget data protection solution. My backups complete successfully day after day after day. The reliability of this service is amazing and the peace of mind that the automated recovery testing functionality provides is certainly on of my favourite features. What we have found compared to other backup solutions is that it is more reliable and takes less work to manage. We have much less failure tickets to deal with compared to solutions in the past. The backups just seem to work! Installation is very simple and can be done with scripting. They also offer both on-premise and cloud backups in one solution so you have one dashboard to monitor all your backups in one place instead of multiple tools.
