## About Cove Data Protection
Cove Data Protection, from N-able, is a cloud-first backup and disaster recovery service for servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365™, all managed from a multitenant web-based dashboard. Cove was created and optimized for the cloud, so incremental backups are up to 60 times smaller than with traditional image backup products. ## Cove Data Protection Reviews
  ### 1. Cloud Backup Product - Works very well indeed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter J. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Setup is simple enough. Company has been very responsive in helping to set up the first few computers - 1 server and 2 workstations so far - and support seems to be readily available when I need it. The other day I had a very good session that went over some of the finer points of the product. All backups performed so far have been flawless (there was on glitch within a day of setup, that resolved itself automatically before I even noticed it, this doesn't count). Machine performance hit(s) do not seem to be noticeable. A local (loopback) web host instantly shows you status of that machine's backup, and the management console is reasonably clear. Since the product is complex by nature, I have no complaints in that regard.

Cove also seems to co-exist very well with existing on-site backup programs. In this case EaseUS Todo Backup Enterprise and GoodSync backup (yes, all three at once).

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

So far, I see no operational downside to using Cove backup so far. As for the cost, it's a bit pricey. But it does work as claimed.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I gain the security of cloud-based backup, in addition to separate on-site images-on-disk.

  ### 2. The ease of checking Cove Data protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent N. | Restaurant Supervisor

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

The best feature of Cove Data protection is the main dashboard and the analytics you receive when checking individual machines for backups. It provides an easy view for all machines, including, charts for different topics (such as backups completed and devices on Cove) and the filtering system is really easy to use, helping me find devices easily.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

One downside of cove data protection is the error page. The backup error page lists errors that have occurred during backups, and gives me a reason for failure, but there is no potential solution to this issue. I have to copy the error, and paste it into google, often reccommending me sites that aren't N-able's support page.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cove Data protection gives our companies/customers an extra line of security for their files, system states, and SQL databases. We know that in case of a disaster, user error, or basic server backups, our customers are protected and have a fail safe. This benefits us because it provides a selling point for our services and keeps our existing companies protected.

  ### 3. The smoothest backup manager I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaiah S. | Computer Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

From start to finish, Cove Data Protection makes the backup process simple and streamlined. We can configure backup profiles to match our customers’ exact expectations and requirements, and having a single installer that works across multiple devices within the same company makes the overall rollout extremely efficient. After the initial setup, backups run nearly flawlessly, and any errors or issues are reported directly in the portal, which makes it easy for me to understand what happened and address it quickly. The recovery process is also very smooth; whether it’s a straightforward file or folder restore or a full computer image recovery, we’ve consistently been able to recover important customer data.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

The UI can be a bit confusing to learn at first when new to the software, and it takes some customizing to get looking the way we wanted it to properly display info to us.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Computers and servers will never work perfectly, so having Cove backups is the way to reassure myself and our customers that we can always help them recover their work or data whenever there are technical problems. We have the peace of mind knowing that if anything does go wrong with any devices, we have the capability to restore it to working condition in a timely manner.

  ### 4. Cloud-First Backups with TrueDelta Speed and a Unified Dashboard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** KAWSER A. | IT Security Support Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Its cloud-first architecture eliminates the need for expensive local hardware and appliances.TrueDelta technology enables backups up to 60x faster by only syncing tiny file changes. The unified dashboard simplifies managing servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365 in one place.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

It is strictly for Microsoft 365, leaving Google users in the lurch.Essential tools like automated recovery testing often cost extra, complicating the total price.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional backups rely on expensive local appliances or NAS drives that can fail, run out of space, or require constant physical maintenance.

  ### 5. Dependable Data Backup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emmanuel C. | Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

It automatically backs up your data and keeps your business running smoothly, so you don’t have to stress about losing files or managing complicated disaster recovery processes.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

Some of the more advanced features take a little time to get the hang of, which can make getting everything up and running feel slower at first.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It tackles the risk of data loss and interruptions by automatically backing up your files and keeping recovery options ready, so your business can keep running smoothly.

  ### 6. Backup and Restore made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

There are two main things I like about Cove: it’s easy to manage, and it has a very, very low impact on system performance and bandwidth.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

At the moment, I don’t see anything that seems like a threat worth reporting.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me standardize across all platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS, 365, G Suite) and set up a quick, easy disaster recovery (DR) system.

  ### 7. Secure, encrypted backup solution for all your devices and services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronan E. | IT Support Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

They have an impressive history of providing secure, encrypted, and immutable backup solutions. These services cover not just endpoints such as servers, workstations, and laptops, but also extend to M365 tenants. Additionally, they are preparing to launch backup support for Google Workspace in the near future.
Simple and easy to use, I log in daily to check my backups, but I don't even need to as they have a great reporting system with daily automated reports which are highly customisable.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

The deployment process can be a little bit confusing at first but their support team are great and always ready to help

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use it to back up our clients' M365 environments, as Cove is recognized as an industry leader with world-renowned security standards.

  ### 8. Great M365 Backup Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Ease of use and very graphical interface with several great pie charts. Its dashboard is easy to navigate and all the information is easy to review. I'm able to navigate and load information I need without requiring a lot of training. The speed at which everything loads is also nice. I can safely say that this is one of the best products in the market from a GUI and user experience. We're able to give our clients access to self managed if needed which is a great bonus.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

Cove Backup offers services for M365, servers, and workstations, and performs these tasks effectively. One notable issue is their pricing structure. Having used this product for over 8 years, it appears that N-ABLE prioritises their own profits, which reduces flexibility for MSPs. While a higher price can be justified for a quality product, N-ABLE's pricing tests the boundaries of what is acceptable. There are also significant space limitations with their server and workstation backups, making them less competitive as competitor offerings are priced at least 50% lower than N-ABLE. Consequently, our usage is limited to the M365 backup service, and we have transitioned away from using their server and workstation backups.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backups for mobile users (laptop users) and M365 is the main benefits I get from Cove.
