Our experience with the Mahalo database electronic data capture (EDC) platform has been exceptional. The user-friendly interface made it intuitive to navigate and configure. What truly set Mahalo apart was the outstanding support provided by their technical team. From initial database configuration to ongoing optimisation, their swift and responsive communication ensured that any queries or adjustments were addressed promptly.
One of the standout features of Mahalo is its flexibility, offering a range of options for project-specific configuration. This adaptability allowed us to tailor the database to our study’s unique requirements, enhancing data collection and management efficiency. Furthermore, Mahalo’s capability to integrate patient-directed data input through a dedicated app provides a comprehensive solution for capturing real-time patient-reported outcomes, significantly enriching our dataset.
Given our positive experience, we are now planning to extend the use of Mahalo for an upcoming project. This decision is a direct result of the platform’s reliability, customisation options, and the exceptional support team that has consistently exceeded our expectations. One limitation we encountered with Mahalo was the e-consenting process, which did not operate as smoothly as we would typically expect on other platforms or in standard practice. This meant we were unable to fully utilise the e-consenting feature. However, this was a minor drawback in the grand scheme of things, and I am confident that we can design a more effective e-consenting workflow for our next project, leveraging our experience.
