"Amazing site"

What do you like best?

I like Lilt.com because it is simple to use, it's a very light platform that can be used from any computer, being a new one or and old one, I can still work, and doesn't require high speed internet. Also projects can be uploaded and checked very fast. When I start the translation, Lilt helps me adding the words I need and then I confirm, besides that, Lilt memorizes the previous translations and brings them back to future files so the translation is much easier the second time. It is easy to log in, and regarding the files, they can be separated into documents, which Lilt indicates the percentage of completion of the project, including words, lists, and segments confirmed, as well as the segments not confirmed.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the automatic translation isn't accurate, and the words are put there without permission, making it confusing for the human translator, having to delete them and start all over the completion of the translation box. Another thing I might dislike is that pages go back and forth sometimes without permission, making it difficult to know what I am working on and having to go back to the current page I am working in. Also, sometimes, when I upload a document, words are mixed and crashed by the time they are available for translation. In conclusion, just a couple of details I might dislike.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a really good product, I recommend it

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Translation of a large catalog for boat parts. Translation can be done fast

"I would highly recommend Lilt"

What do you like best?

Nice interface. Good functions including Find & Replace, term search, concordance, progress bar, etc. Pretty much everything a translator like myself would ask for, without the need of installation! The online support is very responsive and helpful too.

What do you dislike?

Sometime the productivity data (i.e. words translated per hour) shown is far from accurate.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you like a productivity tool without the need to install anything on your computer, and if you like friendly, helpful online support (who wouldn't like that?) -- Try Lilt.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As an independent English>Chinese translator, I have been working with clients from the hospitality industry, using Lilt as a highly effective tool. My clients and I like the results. Lilt enables us to keep track of the project progress and I was always able to quickly amend my translations and maintain consistency throughout the projects. I really like the Lilt interface which is modern, neat and professional. (In answering the question "How many employees does this company have?" I don't know the answer for sure and I just guess the company Lobster Ink has at least 11-50 employees.)

What Translation Management solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Currently experiencing problems"

What do you like best?

When it works, it works astoundingly well. Even with more complex texts, Lilt delivers at a surprising pace :-)

What do you dislike?

It seems that there are currently some things to solve with the software. Suggestions are so slow that many times I type the translation out without waiting for the suggestion... which kind of defies the purpose. When doing the QA after having translated the file, it can be slow going if the file is big (as is often the case). Lastly, Lilt still have some way to go in sorting the tags. It's fiddly and when I move to the next page, the tags sometimes have disappeared, whereupon I have to exit the file and enter again for them to show up.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

If Lilt could deliver consistently, it certainly opens new scopes in translating.

"The future of translation."

What do you like best?

Lilt looks pretty and modern, very much on par with every good product that comes from Silicon Valley nowadays.

What do you dislike?

A few months ago the backend was slow and oftentimes choked on larger files, but that issue has been addressed and the MT engine is working pretty smoothly now.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Lilt takes the best in the translation industry right now and pairs it well with high technology and great user support.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I was trying to find a way to streamline my freelance work, increase productivity, and reduce post editing. Productivity was increased alright, and at first, I had some issues with the speed of their backend, but those problems were solved. Their support team is second to none, and it's really nice to know that there is a product/service that cares about the users.

"Lilt is a wonderful online adaptive platform for Translations worth to choose"

What do you like best?

I am in the pleasant position to being able to write on Lilt: Lilt is a relatively new online adaptive platform, where all kinds of translations are dealt! I like mostly the system of Machine Translation, as software of exclusively Lilt, and not copied from anyone else. The level of quality of this software of M.T of Lilt is on their own, and it's very high. Thus, you feel always comfortable and it's easy to use, not having to correct many things. Thus it makes an easy going platform to work with.

What do you dislike?

There's actually nothing to dislike: Only good impression from first time. First of all, they have a good well structured system to apply as translator, by specifying language pair, all personal details of course and a space to put your CV.

The structure of site is good, well organized and does not create confusion! Lilt gives many ways and many opportunities online for self development, progress and creation of translations, apart from the stardard projects given by Clients for which translator is paid. You can also choose to create your own projects on platform, and seize your abilities.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I Surely recommend translators to use Lilt! First of all, they'll join a good useful platform for doing translations to earn money, besides profiting from an adaptive innovative system to work seamlessly, with a software of Lilt itself, of MT of high level. Also, they can work in any language pair of their choice, and which of course they know well, having on side an always helpful staff to assist them in their first steps in system of LILT! The system is accurate: First of all, when you are called to redit MT of Lilt, you have enough and fair time available; all words are counted accurately, plus possibility, of giving a quote on their own, on fair prices/ratea actually.. System will direct them. Then translators have possibility to get paid by Payoneer (as so far), and only in up to 5 days after project delivery and approval!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Lilt among all, is innovative. A friendly user online system, where you find everything working good, for a modern Company of Translations and Translatikn Management! You have the ability to further workon more language pairs,-when there are available projects from Clients, and indeed get paid in 3-5 days ONLY after project is delivered to Client and approved. One also of the major advantages, is that there is always, or almost always, thus any time staff available online to answer to all your questions, instantly. But besides this, you always receive fedback on your queries by email, the one declared upon registration. So, you never feel alone.

"predictive text is so speedy"

What do you like best?

I like the predictive text more than anything. It saves a huge amount of time and combined with the great hot key system it means I translate a lot more work in the same amount of hours.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the dictionary/term search is a bit poor. I find myself going to proz.com and using their term search instead. They compile the term search from professional translators contributions and they stay there for a long time. They also break down terms by category (eg. legal, business, marketing, medical, etc. )

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you want fast and accurate translation then this is the tool for you.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The only business problem I have had is when a glitch in your system left the markers in the wrong position which meant trying desperately (and failing) to put it right until you fixed it but fixed it within minutes of having to send the translation back to meet the deadline.

"fast learning, reliable outcome and user-friendly tool!"

What do you like best?

I first started using Lilt in 2016, when my language pair (EN-PTBr) became available, and it has been my CAT tool of choice since then. I'm not a very tech-savvy person so the simplified user interface and usability were a big drawn to me since the beginning (I also love the purple pallet of colors but I guess that's not a objective reason to like a tool hahaha). I have recommended it to many novice translators who are now starting to use CAT tools because of how easy it is to use and because of all the videos and tutorials available. Beyond the user-friendly aspect, because I've been using it since its beginning, I can also attest on how much the tool improved in just 3 years. The suggestions are faster and more accurate, (especially regarding the differences of PT-Pt and PT-Br), it's possible to handle really big files (I've used it for files near half million words) and my productivity increase a lot with continuous use. It's also great to review and assign files. And I know I don't even use some other features yet! All in all, a great tool.

What do you dislike?

Three things:

1) the tags that move around after you've placed and saved them. It's really annoying to have to review for the 3rd or 4th time the entire document just to make sure the tags are all correctly placed and saved. This wastes most of the time that Lilt has helped us save during the translation step.

2) the fact that it's not available for individual users anymore... I have recommended it to many novice translators because of how easy and reliable it is, but now, if you don't translate over 250k words a year, you can't have Lilt... That's a mark that I have just recently reached but fortunately, I had my Lilt account from 2016 and could still use it. Not allowing other translators access to Lilt (even with paid subscriptions!) feels unfair.

3) other language pairs I work with, such as ES-PT or FR-PT, are not available.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great tool, easy to learn, easy to use, fast and reliable.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Because I have access to Lilt, I can use it for my other projects as well, which I love. I also like being part of the Sprinklr and Canva translators teams because I like working with localization and creative translation.

"Flow with the workflow"

What do you like best?

Lilt has this addictive thing of racing against myself to work better and faster, always trying to beat my best work per hour ratio. I love it. It's great to have all the tools I need in the same window. If you really like speed you must learn those hotkeys!

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it's slow on the refresh and feels clunky. I wish the lexicon suggestion came from a global translation memory, not just from my past, sort of like Linguee. Titles, when they're in all-caps don't get translated or translate weird.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It improves speed and has implemented tools that really simplify my workflow. Rates have gone down overtime and Lilt has help me stay in the game my making me realize a profit where before there was no chance.

"Get the best help technology can provide from the beginning."

What do you like best?

If I don't like the suggestions, I show it how I want it to translate something--and then it learns from me and does it my way.

What do you dislike?

It sometimes seems to get hung up, and not do anything.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

A great place to start, and stay and stay and stay.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It gives me all of the benefits of the best CAT tools without owning them, and without having to supply it with translations of my own.

"Efficiency at hand"

What do you like best?

Working with Lilt helped me improve my efficiency at the translation stage. The system is very clear and easy to use. Plus, it learns on the go, so it gives better suggestions the more I use it.

What do you dislike?

Not every file type is supported which creates the need to convert some files I wish to translate with it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Thanks to Lilt I'm more agile and able to take up translations with short deadlines, even if my current workload wouldn't normally allow it. This, in turn, gets me more credit with my Clients, as I help them when they are in a tight spot.

"Wonderful performance, even better service"

What do you like best?

I hesitate between praising the accuracy of Lilt's proposed translations, even for technical texts such as those I normally deal with, or the excellent, super-rapid response of their ever-so-kind customer service.

What do you dislike?

Anything I dislike has been taken care of within a very reasonable time frame, keeping me appraised of the progress, so by now I find it hard to find anything to say here, really.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't hesitate, you will be amazed

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have dramatically boosted my productivity as a translator, and can be confident that any tricky expression I only have to investigate once, because once it is in my Lilt, log, I can call it back immediately and effortlessly.

"Always friendly "

What do you like best?

All the staff is friendly. The work is not too difficult and you can choose your own amount of work.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it takes very long to receive an answer.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

All translators can talk to each other through Slack. You don’t need many different platforms for the finances.
