## LessonUp Reviews
  ### 1. Building inclusive, interactive computing lessons with LessonUp

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghav K. | Higher Education Course Leader Digital Technologies, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

The best thing about LessonUp is that it combines lesson delivery and live student interaction in one place. I can use quick activities such as word clouds, hinge questions, polls, short answers, and exit tickets to see what students understand in real time. Since, i teach in HE, It is simple for students to join on their phones, and anonymous participation helps create a more inclusive environment.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

At times, when building a large number of lessons, there is still a learning curve in deciding which interaction type works best for each teaching purpose. I would also always welcome even more options for exporting, analytics, or organising larger lesson libraries. That said, the platform is already very strong for day-to-day teaching.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LessonUp helps me solve three main problems: low student participation, limited real-time feedback, and the difficulty of building interactive lessons efficiently. It allows me to check understanding during the session rather than waiting until assessment. This helps me teach in a more student-centred way, improve engagement, and reuse lesson structures across modules. It has made my teaching more evidence-informed and more efficient.

  ### 2. LessonUp engaging, interactive and game changing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex P. | Teacher of Computer Science, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

LessonUp is a fantastic tool that we use across all KS3 computing lessons, and it has made a significant difference in how interactive and engaging our lessons are for students. The platform allows us to easily integrate quizzes, “fill the gap” activities, drag-and-drop exercises, and discussions into our lessons, which helps keep students actively involved and improves their participation throughout the class.

One of the standout aspects of LessonUp is how simple and intuitive it is to use, both for teachers when creating lessons and for students when participating in them. Additionally, cover staff have found it very easy to use when stepping in and covering lessons, as it allows us to quickly adapt lessons to the needs of the class.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

The shared library of lessons can be difficult to search and filter. A curated section would be very helpful.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lesson up helps solve many problems in the computing classroom such as student engagement, interaction with the computing equipment, more time spent with digital skills, no need for physical resources.

  ### 3. A Worthwhile Tool To Invest In!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I love that LessonUp combines so many different forms of engagement and gamification in one tool, which means I don't need to jump between different EdTech tools. The tool allows for whole-class participation, low-stakes testing, and data tracking, which are incredibly useful for teaching, learning, and assessment. Managing the LessonUp accounts at our college has been smooth, and the setup was pretty easy. The teachers using it love the tool, and I find its uniqueness in the EdTech landscape valuable.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

It takes time to get used to the interface and how it differs from PPT, but this isn't a problem and once you become familiar with the tool it's easy to use.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LessonUp allows whole-class participation, low-stakes testing, and data tracking. I love that it combines engagement and gamification in one tool, so I don't need to jump between different EdTech tools.

  ### 4. All Students Can Contribute—Easy Way to Check Understanding

You can't write or make notes on the slide when it is on teach mode.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a teacher and it helps me to assess all my students at the same time and saves me time as well.

  ### 5. Interactive and AI-Powered Learning Companion

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I like LessonUp for its interactive features, which really add to the experience. The AI help is also a great benefit when designing lessons, as it assists in writing content or creating images to use. Plus, the initial setup was very easy.

N/A

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LessonUp solves the problem of shy learners not wanting to give feedback and helps in keeping track of progress.

  ### 6. Great tool to promote interactivity in your lessons

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

As a teacher at ROC Nijmegen, I am incredibly enthusiastic about LessonUp! This application has given my teaching method a boost. The user-friendliness of LessonUp is amazing. Creating lessons is a breeze thanks to the intuitive interface and the many built-in tools. Whether you want to add videos, quizzes, or interactive assignments, everything is within reach and easy to use.
What really makes LessonUp special is how it encourages interactivity in the lessons. The various tools are easy to use. My students are much more engaged and active during the lessons.
Additionally, LessonUp provides access to a huge database of lessons created by other users, including colleagues within ROC Nijmegen. This is a great source of inspiration! I have already used and adapted lessons from others several times for my own classes, and I notice that my colleagues do the same.
In short, LessonUp is a great tool for any teacher looking for ways to make their lessons more interactive and engaging. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

It's a shame that you need to have a school account to use the collaborative environment within your educational institution.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LessonUp helps you in an intuitive way to increase interactivity and student engagement in the lessons.

  ### 7. Migration Museum experience with Lesson Up

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liberty M. | Education Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

The help we received from Iris was first class; she really supported us in creating our channel and lessons, was always receptive to questions, and was lovely to work with. It's a really interactive platform that allows learners to engage deeply with the subjects.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

So many functions - which is excellent, but it's hard to remember how each one works. It takes time and practice to create and use the platform.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great to have the interactive elements that our in-person visitors experience, available online. This is especially good in the context of the pandemic with online learning.

  ### 8. LessonUp is everything I need!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dorrie B. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I was originally a Nearpod user, but I didn't like that students couldn't get instant feedback unless I was doing a live lesson. I don't like live mode where all the kids work at the same pace because some kids need extra time. I needed something that could be self paced and give instant feedback. I did a search for websites that were similar to Nearpod. I somehow found LessonUP. I did a trial and fell in love. Not only does it allow the students to work at their own pace but each slide gives them instant feedback. There are also so many options for each slide. Some options that I love are multiple choice, sequencing, mind mapping, imbedded videos, and more. I love to use mind mapping to create charts with their responses. I can pose a question and let them respond. Then I can choose all their best answers and put them on my chart. I can fill it out while they are working on the entire lesson. There is so much flexibility with LessonUp. If you want to use slides from previous lessons you can copy and paste them into other lessons.
During distance learning, I used it to teach all of my lessons. I could record my voice on each slide. You can see how much time students spend on each slide. You will know if they skip certain slides. Before and after distance learning, I used it to enhance my lessons. I can't imagine teaching without it!

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

So far there is nothing I dislike :) I love all of the features.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not had any problems with LessonUp.
The benefits include:
-instant feedback
-creativity
-student paced lessons
-quick access to see who is finished/not finished
-easy to create
-lots of options

  ### 9. Excellence with LessonUp

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melinda U. | Teacher/admin., Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

LessonUp is a userfriendly platform to provide creative, innovative lessons for those who are not so tech savvy, as well as those of us who are comfortable with many different forms of technology. Students love it and it is easy for them to access all forms of the lessons; teachers love it for its ease and multi-faceted layout.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

There isn't much I have come across in regard to disliking LessonUp, other than uploading videos. Our school limits access to platforms such as YouTube, and when I try to upload a video I have to use security passwords to bypass the limited access. Another issue that I have come across, one that LessonUp may not be able to change, is the way it appears on different devices. I tell my students not to use phones to retrieve information, but some of them do this anyway and it is hard to follow.

**Recommendations to others considering LessonUp:**

You must try LessonUp! At different times, there is a free offer for a limited time. It will hook you in for sure! This teaching and learning platform allows for students to engage easily with motivation and holds them accountable for the work they are assigned. It is an easy, wonderful tool for teachers to post lessons and keep track of student progress.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I am solving with LessonUp include monitoring students progress, motivating students to engage in all projects, and getting fresh ideas from other teachers using LessonUp.

  ### 10. The most versatile tool I have found for teaching digital lessons onsite or remotely.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

The exceptional felxiblity. The provided tool kit allows me to employ a vast array of lesson designs -- and choose from how best to share them.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

Video integration requires Youtube or Vimeo. This presents school firewall issues and inhibits the speed with which a teacher can provide original video content. Direct upload as offered with ClassDojo or Showbie. for example, would allow for faster teacher preparation.

**Recommendations to others considering LessonUp:**

The user experience remains the same from iOS to Android.

As opposed to an incomprehensible nesting of paid tiers, there are only two price points: Free and Pro. Advertising is also not aggressive.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lesson Up does not require a proprietary app download or creating individual accounts. I share content that can be accessed anonymously or with privy-only-to-me nicknames/student IDs. The students and their families also do not have to worry about working around bugs and fixes that hamper many apps.

  ### 11. LessonUp is Engaging, Student Approved, & Teacher Trusted!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I love the user-friendliness of LessonUp! My students love when I teach with LessonUp! They are engaged, ask more questions using the LessonUp features, and, best of all, learn the material! I love that I can easily upload slides from the PowerPoints I already use and make my lessons more engaging with the interactive features, informal questions, and mind maps!

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

Nothing - Lesson up has all the features I need!

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not had any issues with LessonUp. It is truly user-friendly!

  ### 12. Most completed!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Norangelee R. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

Lesson Up is the most completed tool for interactive presentations. I can do surveys, review lessons in a fun way. Has all in one

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

I would like to have the option about sharing the lessons with other ones that are not my students, to make my decision if I decided to share or not. I want to keep them private to myself.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use most of the tools that I need in one app, instead of jumping between different apps with students. They can get familiar with one app.

  ### 13. Lesson Up Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel D. | Education Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I like the differentiation aspects, which is especially helpful for my life-skills classroom with many different abilities.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

I would like some improvements of how it looks for students on their devices.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped whole-group or small group lesson and giving students multiple ways to engage and answer what they know. Students have fun and it gives me some freedom to make quick lessons.

  ### 14. Great interactive platform!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Museums and Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I love the interactive elements of LessonUp. It's easy to create a highly interactive lesson using the elements in the software.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

Some of the standard features of other software, like drag and drop, select all, etc., are missing, but I think they are working on this!

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great way to create teacher resources to share our content with educators in an intuitive and easy-to-use way!

  ### 15. LessonUp is great for interactive lectures

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wouter v. | SEO Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2020

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I've used LessonUp for a lecture I gave about search engine marketing. What I like best is that I can use it to keep the audience engaged during a lecture. I can use multiple multimedia elements in my decks: normal slides, but also videos and charts. To keep the audience focused I have the audience answer test questions on their laptops in the LessonUp app.

Also, the audience can always return to the lecture as it is publicly available in the LessonUp lessons library.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

Because the platform is quite new, there isn't much content available in the US.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use this lecture in a hybrid fashion: I can use it in physically in class, but I can also give this presentation from home.
Next to that, I can use the test questions functionality to find out how much the audience know about a subject during the presentation, so I can move faster or slower accordingly.

  ### 16. LessonUp helps us offer complete interactive lessons and lesson plans as a publisher.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2021

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

We want to make interactive, easy to use lessons. We know how to make a good lesson, but a teacher knows how to make 'That' lesson great by customizing it. LessonUp makes that possible for us. Through our channel we can get insights in usage and support in developing new lessons or complete lesson plans.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

We would love to bundle lesson plans which might be a possibility into the future;)

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customizable content for every teacher and not a standard solution (as a book is)!

  ### 17. LessonUp helps increase students' participation!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about LessonUp?**

I love that you can add media (sound, pictures, videos). I love that you can use it in the classroom and for distance learning. I love that when used in the classroom, every single student can answer every question.

**What do you dislike about LessonUp?**

It can be time consuming to create questions at first.

**What problems is LessonUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LessonUp helps me making sure all the students participate while in class. It also helps me providing them with resources they can use at their own pace.
