Klarna started as an online platform that allowed customers to split their payments into three installments, which was especially useful for purchases like electronic devices. Recently, however, Klarna has evolved into a more comprehensive payment tool by adding new features to its platform, such as restaurant tickets and a wallet for storing money and card information. We have applied twice to Klarna to be offered via our family retail business Website. We offer a variety of beauty and grooming products, much like other popular retail shops that already use and offer Klarna (and which Klarna proudly advertises as their customers). However, our applications are rejected incorrectly and unjustly because Klarna tags us as a company that does "drop shipping", simply because we offer a variety of brands. We are NOT a drop shipping company. We have NEVER drop shipped. We are a retail eCommerce shop. We have our own inventory of products that we fully purchase and and store in our warehouse. We have the full legal right to resell these brands as retail corporation (just like some other already approved and advertised by Klarna as their customers). The only difference is that we are not a giant corporation, but rather a local family business. The Klarna review process has been very difficult and illogical. It is not possible to get any help via support as a merchant. At this time we would not recommend any businesses to engage with Klarna. Customer Service for merchants is non-existent

Flexibility in options is non-existent. We've tried working with them based off our customer feeback and Klarna doesn't seem interested in working with us to improve customer adoption Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing! There is no easy way to speak or chat with someone! It takes you to your dashboard but not to the chat box to actually speak with someone, I had to Google the customer service number smh Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't really care to us Klarna because they check your credit every time and everytime I have to login into my credit report or the sites and unlift my freeze on my credit. It's annoying! I love Afterpay because it's simpple to use! Due to all this I have missed my product and is now sold out because I had to go through all this!! I will never use Klarna again!!! Klarna is awful. Both my husband and I have accounts with over $1,000 of purchase power and have both made successful purchases with Klarna and have since paid them in full. Randomly, I started getting denied due to “identity verification issues”. After countless chats, emails and “corrections” I have been told by every rank of employee from basic customer service rep to supervisor that my case has been escalated several times. I have been told through many communication avenues that the issue has been corrected, but my attempted purchases are still declined to this day citing identity verification issues.

My husband who has been successfully using Klarna for several months and has over $1,000 of spending power is now ALSO getting denied each time he attempts a purchases due to identity confirmation issues.

Unfortunately, we are not the only ones who have run into this issue. There is an entire feed on Reddit with scores of users saying the same thing has happened to them and Klarna has never resolved the issue.

Do yourself a favor and avoid using Klarna and stick to other more professional and reliable buy now, pay later apps like AfterPay and Affirm.

A word of caution, if you do find yourself running into this issue with Klarna, don’t bother wasting your time trying to get them to correct it. You’ll go through a lot of hassle only to have them tell you they’ve fixed the issue and your account will work.., but it never will. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
