It is a great tool for project management and budget tracking. There are areas that could be better but overall it has been able to provide the information needed

With time tracking within a project I wish there were more capabilities of chaning to multiple roles for a user within a project. Also, I would like to have a more efficent billing feature/schedule. Being able to calucale markups for external cost could be more cleaner than the way it is currenlt being done

Revenue recognition is a report we currently use outside of Kantata and would love to see when the actual feature is fully developed in Kantata

there are a lot of integration/mapping limitations and there are no helpful data import options to mass migrate data.

it is solving having expenses (from Expensify), vendor payments (from Sage), and time (direct Kantata entries) all in one place to allocate to projects and review profitability all in one place with audit trail of changes and comments. Benefits us in not having to do manual consolidations of this data outside of Kantata to visualize

The Kantata team understands that each company has different needs. They have invested significant effort and time to meet our consulting team where it is, in terms of sophistication on project management, resource utilization, and capacity. They've sought to understand how we operate, invested in workflows that automate common pain points for our consultants, and challenged us when we're not using the system in the optimal fashion. Specifically they have worked with us to streamline how we schedule hours across our team, which has unique aspects from other consulting businesses. Through this we've seen greatly improved accuracy in our forecasting metrics, with less effort required from our consultants.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I'm confident we aren't using the system as optimally as possible around dashboards, reporting, and insights. Next on our list to explore with the Kantata team is streamlining decision-making information directly to our consulting leaders and our operations team, with as few clicks and scrolls as possible.

**What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most recently, the team has invested in our partnership by helping us streamline the scheduling of time across our delivery portfolio, which has unique aspects from other consulting businesses. This will give us the information we need to better forecast capacity needs and proactively augment our delivery resources. I expect this to save each of our consultants at least 1 hour a week, and indirectly, balance future workload across the team.

**What do you like best about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I like the functionality of the Workato workflow. It really gives us the ability to customize a lot of things. We highly leverage Kantata Professional Services Automation for resource planning and managing milestones. This helps us recognize and forecast revenue effectively as we operate using a milestone-based approach to revenue recognition. The integration with Salesforce through the Mavenlink connector is also beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I would like to see some work being done on being able to look at project milestones and health reports to come up with a better, more accurate automated summary. Maybe identify problems that we're going to come up with or incorrect information already being demonstrated in the project itself. For example, if our project health report reads we're going to finish a milestone in February, but the task tracker shows that same milestone as ending in December, I would like the automated report that Kantata creates to capture this as an error that needs to be addressed and then compare that to the overall end date of the project. Also, I would like Kantata to create something in the report that shows inaccuracies in overall task end date vs project end date and flag as an error in that automated report.

I use Kantata Professional Services Automation to manage resources and forecast needed hires, plan project milestones, and forecast revenue. It helps solve resource and capacity issues by providing insights into resource needs and timing.

I like the user interface; I think it is very easy to navigate. Having everything in one place is a huge advantage versus disconnected spreadsheets and various systems. I also like the integration to Salesforce, as maintaining and connecting with the data in Kantata is very important.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I think a lot of work needs to be done around the templates and the Gantt chart. The Gantt chart is subpar, and a lot of our clients are used to leveraging Microsoft Project, so it really isn't up to the level of their expectations. The templates have issues too; we can't put custom fields in there. Creating a template from a project requires a lot of manual intervention, which is really tricky and not supportive of how they’re presented during sales demos. Also, it would be great to have the ability to create a project from a project, as our projects have many line items, making them too long to create a template from. I guess there are limitations around the current templates, and if there's no plan to improve them, presenting them as a foundational core for the product going forward doesn't seem right.

Kantata Professional Services Automation consolidates all information into a single tool, which prevents offline work and data inconsistencies, ensuring our work is based on current, accurate information.

I appreciate that Kantata Professional Services Automation is able to accurately track and record time and resources.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I'm quite frustrated by Kantata. The interface is slow and unintuitive, which makes it unpleasant to deal with. It often crashes, especially in Gantt view, and tasks don't load well. Notifications are 'all or nothing,' which is not helpful. The field input is very limited, and the UX is slow and clunky. The UI feels plain and not user-friendly. The Gantt view is not very helpful since it's often too zoomed in and searching doesn't display child tasks, making it useless. The description fields on tasks are extremely limited in character limit and functionality. Additionally, it's very slow to update, and things mess up when two people edit simultaneously because syncing doesn't happen properly. I feel like we're still in the 'initial setup' phase even after 3 years.

It tracks our financials and hourly allocations for employees and supports project management with assignments, notifications, timelines, and workflows.

The overall system is great to use once you get the hang of it, bit of learning curve if you are the system admin and use it frequently. Plenty of useful features but could use some refinement and a faster release cycle. Constantly releasing easy to implement features and updates. When in a fix the customer service team is highly responsive. I am an admin at my organisation and use it every day so I find it very useful to manage projects. Not using a lot of integrations, but the ones we do work very well.

Some of the features lack refinement, for example the tasks should not be time trackable once they have been marked as completed. Estimations should allow for multiple scenarios. There's integration with Google but our organisation uses Microsoft instead and it would be great if this was offered.

The major problem the product is solving for us this allows us to simplify and consolidate the processes we were using prior to using Kantata, it has replaced at least 4 different tools for us especially the key areas such as Resource Management and Task Management.

I like Kantata Professional Services Automation because the platform is user-friendly, making it easy to learn and use. I appreciate how it allows me to know what tasks I'm assigned to, find past work, manage time efficiently, and determine the profitability of tasks. It's simple to locate the details I need at a glance. I enjoy the customization aspect, as I've updated task statuses to match our agency's unique project stages, which enhances clarity. The integration with Google, where we keep our project files, also works well for me. Lastly, the initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

I wish that tasks were rolling, instead of launching on set dates. We work on a monthly schedule with clients, and it'd be nice to 'work ahead' when possible instead of waiting for the first for the month's tasks to roll out. When a task is marked as complete, a new task populates for the next month (same date range) instead of launching on a specific day of the month (we use the 1st).

Kantata Professional Services Automation helps with resource management, team collaboration, organization, prioritization, budgeting, and time management in my marketing agency project management work. The platform is easy to learn and use, allowing for clear task assignment, time tracking, and profitability, with seamless integration with Google for file storage.

**What do you like best about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

Kantata makes good use of GoodData, the reporting engine that powers analytics/ providing the ability to build custom reporting for most data points. While many PM platforms allow for custom reporting, Kantata takes this one level deeper, allowing for custom-coded metric creation to align with company-specific business logic.

**What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?**

Client logins are not able to see budget info.  The UI is pretty outdated compared to other PM platforms. The HubSpot integration is relatively weak- specifically, project creation is driven off of deals, rather than deal line items (only one project can be created per line item).  The Salesforce integration is quite robust.

**Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):**

Mavenlink uses GoodData for all reporting which is pretty customizable, but can only pull down fresh information every hour, and then can't display that information for another half hour.  May not be a deal-breaker, but something to consider.

Kantata is a good solution for combining project management and time tracking and project financials into one platform.
