# What should customer success teams evaluate in Customer Education for measuring training effectiveness?

I've gone down a rabbit hole on this, because "measuring effectiveness" often just means counting completions, which tells you almost nothing about whether anyone got better at the product. Here's what I'd actually put on the evaluation checklist for a customer education platform, and the tools that map to each point:

Skilljar captures granular activity and is built to tie learning data back to product usage and customer health, which is the connection that shows real impact. Best for linking education to adoption.

Thought Industries exports learning data to BI tools so you can line training up against business outcomes instead of trapping it in one dashboard. Best for BI-level analysis.

Docebo is an enterprise platform positioned around analytics and AI-assisted insights across large learner bases. Best for enterprise-scale reporting.

Absorb LMS is known for a strong reporting and admin layer, useful when you need clean completion and engagement data across audiences. Best for straightforward reporting.

LearnUpon connects to your CRM so enrollment and progress can be read alongside customer lifecycle data. Best for CRM-connected tracking.

The trap I'd flag is measuring the easy thing (did they finish) instead of the useful thing (did behavior change). Connect completion to actual product adoption and the picture gets far more honest. What's the one metric your team treats as the real signal training worked?

I’d look at what happens after training, not just inside the LMS. Skilljar and LearnUpon get more interesting if you can connect course activity to product usage or customer health. A completion rate might look great while trained customers are still struggling with the same features.
