It does a poor job of email management. Some of our clients don't join on the application so we add the custom email address as a CC. Throughout a project there can be hundreds of emails and it pastes all of them in the main feed with the full chain each time. This makes it near impossible to find older posts. I find forecasting with Kantata Professional Services Automation lacking. It would be a great improvement to have the ability to add projects for better forecasting of our resources and hard costs. Also, more flexibility in retainer billing would be beneficial. The initial setup process was extremely challenging as RSM, who managed it, lacked knowledge of the tool. I really like the layout and view of the new Kantata, especially the rounded edges of the display and orange theme. I also appreciate how easy it is for permission sets and creating new users, and having all roles, groups, assignments, and leave adjustments in one place. The automation of timesheet approvals and expense categories with projects makes life a lot easier for us and is so seamless. I really appreciate Kantata Professional Services Automation's ability to manage assignments from creation to project status progression to completion and invoicing. Its ability to maintain updates and automated communications effectively reduces the need for inefficient manual follow-ups. One of the most critical features for me is being able to track the progression of assignments and maintain all supporting documentation within the system. Additionally, the integrated time tracking and invoicing capabilities within one platform are quite useful. It's also helpful that I can always review supporting documentation with multiple team members, ensuring everyone has access to the necessary information. The Kantata team understands that each company has different needs. They have invested significant effort and time to meet our consulting team where it is, in terms of sophistication on project management, resource utilization, and capacity. They've sought to understand how we operate, invested in workflows that automate common pain points for our consultants, and challenged us when we're not using the system in the optimal fashion. Specifically they have worked with us to streamline how we schedule hours across our team, which has unique aspects from other consulting businesses. I'm confident we aren't using the system as optimally as possible around dashboards, reporting, and insights. Next on our list to explore with the Kantata team is streamlining decision-making information directly to our consulting leaders and our operations team, with as few clicks and scrolls as possible. I like the functionality of the Workato workflow. It really gives us the ability to customize a lot of things. We highly leverage Kantata Professional Services Automation for resource planning and managing milestones. This helps us recognize and forecast revenue effectively as we operate using a milestone-based approach to revenue recognition. I would like to see some work being done on being able to look at project milestones and health reports to come up with a better, more accurate automated summary. Maybe identify problems that we're going to come up with or incorrect information already being demonstrated in the project itself. For example, if our project health report reads we're going to finish a milestone in February, but the task tracker shows that same milestone as ending in December, I would like the automated report that Kantata creates to capture this as an error that needs to be addressed and then compare that to the overall end date of the project. Also, I would like Kantata to create something in the report that shows inaccuracies in overall task end date vs project end date and flag as an error in that automated report. I appreciate Kantata's timesheets feature. It's easy to locate various projects, tasks and see my billable vs. non-billable utilization rate. It allows our team to quickly and efficiently log hours and makes the submission process easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a learning curve at first when using Kantata, primarily due to UI/UX. In timesheets, you can stack multiple entries to a specific project + task. Occasionally there are glitches when those entries stack but they are rare and usually fixed by refreshing the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
