You and your team have your own way of working. So I appreciate the extensive functionality and myriad customizable templates (and related searchability and portability) iObeya offers so that I can build and continuously evolve my obeya to suit my team and projects’ requirements. And when I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for (or more appropriately, when I don’t really know what it is that I am looking for) Support seeks to understand my needs and concerns and makes suggestions based on my unique context. From work, to home, to education, to aspirations, whether your collaborators are co-located or distributed, I do not see a use case iObeya can't be applied to or provide immense value to. At the end of the day iObeya is the tool I don't want to work...live...function without. **What do you dislike about iObeya?** Ironically, it’s the very thing that made me abandon tools like Miro and Mural in the first place: the ability to create functional clutter which admittedly made previous obeyas unwieldy and unsearchable. I sometimes wish I had the ability to drop a note beyond a frame. Bad habits die hard but in the end though, I'm grateful. iObeya keeps me "honest"...keeping my board organized, intuitive, and searchable. **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** Given the recent mass shift to telework, most of us don't have the luxury of shared whiteboards and walls, let alone a proper physical obeya. Whether it is with our consulting business, our online school, or even our latest book, iObeya helps us manage, collaborate on, and remain aligned in our work. It helps us identify and solve tomorrow's problems - and solve them collaboratively - before they become problems at all. Perhaps most importantly, it helps us achieve a sense of clarity over our work and our priorities (and our capacity), whilst giving us a sense of relatedness to others, the mission, etc. I’ve watched it change expectations and by extension, behaviors - my own and my team's. Further I like the possibilty of escalation and deescalation of actions, as well as the possibility to send cards to specific collegues. Visually very appealing and nice to work with. For me it's a great tool to work together, to leave your opinon and to show the status of a certain KPI. It offers a lot of options about how to set up the desired KPI (frequency of input and colour coding of status (red/green)). Awesome that the KPIs can be summed (as well in custom ways) on other boards / levels. So the hierarchical structure can be nicely rebuild with this tool and all meetings can be hold in iObeya - quantitative KPIs are easily connected via formulas (just clicking) and qualitative Information (like escalations) are escalated via pre defined choices or send directly to collegues. So far we are very excited to move the organization further inside the usage of the tool on all teams. **What do you dislike about iObeya?** The habbit of right click does not work in iObeya - but after a short time you are adapted. There could be more connection points to other softwares (but I know there are coming otehr oprions soon). **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** Escalation of KPIs - following trends and the achievement of set goals. People can feel overwhelmed by all the options offered. In that sense, it is Lean without placing a requirement on you to be Lean, yet. If you like that Obeya is the best implementation of collaboration workspaces, then iObeya implements that virtually. There are few restrictions from physical rooms and the benefits of availability for distributed teams is very valuable. There are features that implement real data collection to collect, track, and view performance metrics. iObeya has become a full Visual Management System that dramatically reduces the overhead and maintenance of physical boards and manual data collection. **What do you dislike about iObeya?** Log in to iObeya often drops me into the help center. I would prefer that login always leads me to my Team rooms. **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am teaching Obeya as part of a college course in product development at Kettering University. Using iObeya directly implements the benefits of Obeya to students in the course. Collaboration within the course and among students is enabled easily as students readily understand and utilize the intuitive interface and actions. I can implement many activities virtually that are difficult to do in-person. Even my guest speakers are surprised and delighted with how effective iObeya is for interaction with students. Of course, it goes without saying that during the pandemic when I needed to teach hybrid classes with some students in-class and the remainder virtual, iObeya shined compared to alternative technologies available to me. With students spread out geographically, iObeya creates and environment where teamwork is easy to implement. ### 29. There are always things that we would like to optimize that we are actively discussing with our iobeya business partners. None of our other internal tools has this function. **What do you dislike about iObeya?** I have nothing to dislike but some missing functionality: - subscription to email notifications on single cards - Cards that can be customized regarding the fields on the cards - Read-only rights for the rooms **Recommendations to others considering iObeya:** Before you give the tool to the teams consider to have common rules to use and adapt the tools in the dock. If one team uses the same tool on another board and change the settings, they change it for every dock where the tool is used in the room. **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** We could work from one day to the other in 2020 from home without missing any task. For shopfloor personnel who needs to access to iObeya, a big touch screen TV may be required to digitalize the boards useable by shopfloor personnel. **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** Real-time updates of the visual boards can be made possible, where multiple members are allowed to access and update different part of the boads. Virtual meetings and performance tracking are much easier now compared to the past. Some specialized tool such iDCM really saves a lot of time in set-up, maintenance and update of the board and its elements. Additionally, the Program Board enables teams to illustrate dependencies and timelines, call out risks, and allow smoother delivery through understanding and clarity. The Portfolio board view highlights the need for collaboration with other members of our Value Stream to ensure alignment and reflects gaps in process. And finally, the iObeya support team is very responsive and provides detailed solutions with helpful visuals and instruction. I highly recommend this product. **What do you dislike about iObeya?** It can take a while to get used to zooming in and out on the boards. **What problems is iObeya solving and how is that benefiting you?** iObeya reflected gaps in the epic definition and analysis process as we used the Portfolio Kanban, and we were able to identify areas of improvement in collaboration to prepare our scope better and understand/align on the timelines.
