It is fairly easy to use and very granular. Rules management is done via a web console. The level of granularity is excellent, meaning it is possible to customise the rules at a deep granular level, perfect for admins who want a deep level of control of the email gateway and security features. **What do you dislike about InterScan Messaging Security?** Sadly, IMSS has been falling behind the competition as of late, when it comes to the new types of threats (e.g. BEC) and modern protection measures needed to counter them (e.g. sandboxing, DLP, ...) The lack of updates and new features in the last couple of years makes me wonder if Trend Micro is still maintaining this product. **What problems is InterScan Messaging Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** IMSS was used as the primary secure email gateway (SEG) platform at our company for the best part of 15 years. It secures the corporate email server by filtering out spam, phishing, viruses, malware, and also features a keywords filter. ### 3. Allows customization and provides ways to block keywords and malicious domains. **What do you dislike about InterScan Messaging Security?** Over the time I have been using this product, I cannot think of anything negative. **Recommendations to others considering InterScan Messaging Security:** TrendMicro is one of the leaders for endpoint security. They have several rock-solid products, and InterScan Messaging Security is one of them. I have seen quarantined emails from bad actors that would have been delivered to their intended recipient without using IMS. **What problems is InterScan Messaging Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solves the problem of malicious emails by providing a good spam filter solution.
