**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

I really like SaneBox because it's super intuitive and easy to use. The drag and drop method and pre-built folders make setting up my email very straightforward. I also love how I can use multiple email boxes, and the ability to create custom folders is really helpful. The feature that I love the most is the drag and drop functionality because I don't have to think about managing my email box or setting up rules, which I used to hate. If an email doesn't go to the right box, I just move it where it should go. Once you set up the whole admin background, it's just easy to use on autopilot. The receipts folder is cleverly done, and I find the overall ease of use to be one of the most important aspects. SaneBox isn't all up in my face; once it's working, it's just working, which I appreciate.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

SaneBox makes a high-volume inbox manageable. In 2025, I received 68,380 emails, had 407 emails on my busiest day, and SaneBox archived 68,633 emails while saving me an estimated 416 hours.

What I like best is that SaneBox helps separate the emails that need my attention from the ones that can wait. That makes it much easier to stay focused and not feel buried by my inbox. I would have a hard time keeping up with email without it.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

I do not have any real dislikes. The hardest part is simply following their process and giving SaneBox the time it needs to learn how you want your email sorted. Once you commit to the process and train it properly, it works extremely well.

For me, the setup and learning period is worth it because of the time and effort it saves every day.

**What problems is SaneBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SaneBox is solving the problem of email overload. I receive a high volume of email, and without a system to sort and prioritize it, my inbox can quickly become overwhelming.

In 2025, I received 68,380 emails, with 407 emails on my busiest day. SaneBox archived 68,633 emails and saved me an estimated 416 hours. That time savings is the biggest benefit for me.

SaneBox helps move lower-priority emails out of the way so I can focus on the messages that actually need my attention. It makes email much more manageable, reduces the time I spend sorting through my inbox, and helps me stay focused during the workday.

As a person who gets about 150 emails a day, SaneBox is very helpful to sort out the real junk from my inbox. so that I can make sure that my time is spent on the email that is actually to me. This software is sort of install and forget.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

I can't find any downsides with SaneBox, unless you quit using it, of course ;-) It's very easy to install and use.

The problem Sanebox is solving is that it gives me back my time. Time that otherwise would have been spent deleting junk mail

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

SaneBox has allowed me to truly put a "container" around my email. Instead of being constantly interrupted, I have it set up to open my digest at 2:00 PM each day. By the time I open it, I feel completely empowered and in the right headspace to review what’s accumulated in my SaneLater and SaneNews folders. I also absolutely love the SaneBlackHole feature. It is incredibly satisfying to drop random, unwanted emails in there and know I’ll never have to deal with them again. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

Honestly, there isn't much to complain about. It takes a few days of training to get the filters exactly where you want them, but the AI learns incredibly fast. It's well worth the tiny initial effort.

I like that SaneBox is quite reliable and it seems to get the job done very well. I appreciate how it works out of the box from the get-go. It's extremely easy to set up; pretty much everything was automatically done, which I like. SaneBox is my go-to tool for removing clutter from my inbox so I'm not distracted and can focus on what I need to do.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

So when there's a holiday, for instance, during the work week, SaneBox does not understand holidays from my country. So it would be nice to be able to turn off the receiving of emails during the holidays.

I use SaneBox to remove inbox clutter, keeping distracting emails out of sight so I can focus on important tasks.

Easy to setup, yes! But, most importantly, easy to maintain!!

The limits on the number of folders. I could increase for additional price but I found the sweet spot at 6 and made it work.

My emails would pile up and I couldn’t review them. Now they are grouped in the correct folder to review when I need or want to review based on topic. Maintaining the organization is as simple as moving the email to the correct folder.

It’s an easy way to categorize my emails and keeps my inbox so much cleaner. One feature I especially like is called sane black hole. It’s a great way to stop seeing certain emails without having to unsubscribe.

It’s not a big deal, but I wish I had more sand boxes. I could set up at the most basic plan but I get it.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

As a person who subscribes to probably too many newsletters, I was drowing in email. I no longer trusted that unsubscribe works for many senders. And, because I didn't want Google's Gemini training on my email contents, I turned off smart features, which took away sorting feature--so I was LOST and overwhelmed by my inbox. Sanebox is genius! I especially love the Sane BlackBox, where I can send email I no longer want to see, without hurting friends' feeling by unsubscribing. I feel confident that what is important is quickly and easily findable.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

So far I don't see any downsides to using SaneBox.  The only reason I gave 8 stars for how likely I am to recommend to friends is that most people I know don't get as much email as I do.

I used to have to spend time everyday scanning and deleting all the email I get, in order to keep my google account from getting full and to avoid missing anything important. Now Sanebox does that for me.

I like that SaneBox learns and adapts to my needs. It's simple to use and I am able to train it to recognize email origins and categorize them how I prefer. It saves me a significant amount of time, about 2-3 hours each week. The initial setup was easy, and overall, I find it to be a useful product.

I have no complaints. I’d love to recommend it to my friends; however, I don’t think they’d like having to pay for a subscription.

I like how SaneBox really just works without needing a separate application. It integrates right into Gmail, moving emails around naturally, and the training over time is basically perfect. It's just nice that I don't have to leave my normal email client, and it augments the sorting in the way I probably already use Gmail. The initial setup was very easy, basically instant.

I think the training interface can be a little hard to adjust to at first, but after using it every day for a couple months, I feel very confident in it.

I have been using SaneBox for a long time, and it has fundamentally changed how I manage email.

Email is one of the highest-volume inputs into my day, and without disciplined filtering, it quickly becomes a productivity drain. SaneBox solves this problem elegantly. It keeps my primary inbox pristine, intelligently categorizes incoming messages, and allows me to focus immediately on what actually matters—without requiring constant manual rules or configuration.

What sets SaneBox apart is that it learns. Over time, it becomes increasingly accurate at identifying signal versus noise, and it does so quietly in the background. I rarely have to think about it—which is exactly how a great productivity tool should function.

I can say without exaggeration that SaneBox has likely saved me hundreds of hours that would otherwise have been lost to inbox triage, distraction, and unnecessary context switching. That reclaimed time translates directly into better focus, higher-quality work, and reduced cognitive load.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

I love how SaneBox manages all the clutter in my e-mail inboxes by catching unimportant mail and filtering it into other folders, and it also flags important e-mails for my quick response. Since using it, I've saved at least 5 hours each week because I don't have to manually manage my inbox. The extra time I save allows me to spend more time on other activities. The initial setup was very easy, just by pointing it at my e-mail inboxes, and it created an API token to start sorting e-mail immediately. I find the web app very easy to follow, and it's great that I can use SaneBox with both Outlook and Gmail.

The mobile app could use some better organization in the UI.

SaneBox filters out unimportant emails, saving me at least 5 hours each week and lets me focus on more valuable tasks.

I like that SaneBox works based on rules. The rules are clear and essentially based on the sender. This makes it easy, as you decide once where a sender belongs, and then it works very reliably. The simplicity ensures that everything works well, without much fuss or complicated AI, which often doesn't work reliably.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

As is often the case, the greatest strength is the greatest weakness. It would of course be nice if SaneBox could also recognize the content of the emails. Sometimes a sender sends invoices, newsletters, and important messages. But I have to decide which folder it should go into. The simplicity is the greatest strength, but also the greatest weakness.

I use SaneBox to pre-sort my inbox. With a lot of emails, like newsletters and important mails, SaneBox helps by sorting them into different folders, allowing me to focus on what is essential.

The combination of a clear, rules-based email categorization and the Inbox Zero Academy. The product helps establish a simple and effective mental model for handling email (now, later, and reference-only), and the training explains why this works rather than just pushing features. In practice, this helped me reduce a severely cluttered inbox and maintain a sustainable workflow across time.

Some features go beyond what is strictly necessary once you have internalized the Inbox Zero principles. For users who mainly want a clean, minimal setup, the breadth of options can feel more than required.

SaneBox addresses the problem of inbox overload and constant interruption caused by low-priority email. By automatically separating important messages from informational or reference-only emails, it reduces cognitive load and decision fatigue. For me, this resulted in a significantly smaller, more focused inbox and a clearer distinction between emails that require action now, later, or never. The benefit is improved focus and a calmer, more predictable email workflow rather than reactive inbox management.

It just works – out of the box it's really effective at filing mail in the right places and helping you keep a clear inbox. And once you start training it, it just keeps getting better.

The only downside is that once you add several different boxes and multiple mail accounts, it can get pricey – but if you're focused on just one email address, it's a bargain.

I like that SaneBox helps me spend less time managing my email by eliminating distracting messages and organizing them with a digest. The black hole feature is great because it doesn't just move messages to a junk folder like my email client, but uses intelligence to permanently eradicate unwanted messages. I also appreciate the intelligent rules. I've used them in the past to manage receipts, and now I use them to streamline and manage newsletters. Additionally, the initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

The AI seems to need a bit more training than I'd like, requiring me to still continue checking folders to ensure it didn't miss anything. And the price point is higher than I think the current feature set warrants. I think the full feature set should be available for the price (at least until the AI is improved, at which time I'd pay more). I still use Sanebox but downgraded to a lower tier subscription and just one of my email addresses rather than my prior 3 until it improves.

I like SaneBox for its auto sort and mass delete options. My inbox isn't full of spam, and I can just go to a category to see what I want or save space by deleting emails. The initial setup was very easy.

I think SaneBox could be improved with more options and customizations. It would be helpful to have more categories or some sort of AI functionality.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

I really appreciate how SaneBox helps me keep my inbox manageable. My favorite thing about it is the SaneReminders tool. When I send an email asking someone to do something, it lets me bcc a specific date, and then on that specific date a reminder comes back to me. This way, I no longer need to keep separate lists of what I'm waiting on from different people. It saves me a lot of time and brain space remembering or tracking down what other people are doing for me, making me much more efficient. Also, the initial setup was very easy, and they gave me a great orientation.

Sanebox is an easy-to-use email app with a short learning curve. 

I think Sanebox currently offers the most efficient way to clean up your email account and reach inbox zero. Personally, I spend only 15 minutes deleting almost 10,000 emails.

Sanebox's features not only help you clean up your inbox but also make your email management more organized and less stressful. 

It was also great that during the two-week free trial, you can try every feature, so you will know which feature you need when changing to paid plans.

My inbox was so out of control I often gave up. Sanebox has freed up so much time that I feel like a commercial i would not even believe. But it's true. If you spend time up front training it, and then a small amount as you go,  you will still save hours a week! And I feel so much better.

I like everything about it. Everything works beautifully. It would be nice to be able to more selectively choose emails that need replies.

It has lots of options and flexability to configure it to work how I like.

It is extremely helpful and managing my inbox - gets the junk out of the way and leaves important and actionable stuff for me to deal with.

It just works!

The one issue I have, is when it "returns" an email to me - it adds in the original date to the subject, so you know it is a "re-run".  That doesn't always work/display right.  Not sure if that is them or an email client issue - but it does cause me some confusion sometimes - but this is a very minor annoyance.

Beyond that, nothing that I can think of.

**What problems is SaneBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps the important emails in my Inbox - and everything else is not.  Makes it easy to work on the important stuff during the day - and scan the other folders at night.

Being able to snooze various emails to come back later is great.

By BCCing a date/time - I can have the email come back to me to make sure I got a response.  A life savor for people that send a lot of email requests to people that don't always answer you.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

I get 3-400 emails a day, so I live in fear of missing important emails. SaneBox separates, very cleanly, those emails from newsletters or not directed at me to SaneNews or SaneLater boxes, leaving important emails as primary. Their daily digest lets you train email, but I found that using a Gmail interface, I can scan the SaneNews or SaneLater boxes and, if an important email is there, train SaneBox by simply dragging the email to Primary- far easier than other schemes! Better yet, I can train mails to "SaneBlackHole", so I never have to see them again! Much easier than unsubscribing. I also value the ability to forward an email to the future and can specify date and time, so that it shows up just prior to a meeting.  As I said, SaneBox gets me through my day.  I should also note that they are responsive to email questions about problems or features.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

The Digest is a bit confusing at times, as I still struggle with the fine points of training emails. I'm not always sure I'm always doing it correctly. I use the method of dragging to the appropriate box in the email interface, which also trains them. SaneBox would benefit from more precise instructions on features and how to use them.

No pre sorting needed. 
The AI is excellent. One instruction and all future emails go to the right box.

The dashboard could be simpler - it is a bit complicated to navigate.
I'd like some more sorting boxes to be able to sort more specifically.

Before SANEBOX I spent literally hours per day on sorting and treating the hundreds of emails that I receive everyday. 
The automatic email groups provided in my apple mail are really not the solution for that. 
Now SaneBox has done the work for me BEFORE I open my box. 
I can quickly scan what is important - put to later what needs reading - and focus on my priorities. 
SaneBox saves me at least 2 to 3 hours work per day. 
The service they provide is the best in the world, I cannot imagine my work as coach and consultant without SaneBox. I would be able to concentrate on my priorities.

The filter function is amazing- I only see the high priority emails until I'm ready to see the others. The do not disturb function means I don't even see emails until the times I've scheduled- but they're always accessible if I'm waiting for an important one. Being able to set an email to reappear a few minutes, days, weeks, or in a year is brilliant for following up on things that haven't been done.

I had to be SUPER picky about this since there literally isn't anything I dislike! I find the way that it marks the emails that reappear with [SANEBOX] in the subject line mildly perturbing, but if I'm forwarding it on it only takes a moment to delete that out. Also I put a note explaining about it in my footer message and most of the time I don't even worry about it now!

I used to constantly have over 1000 emails in my inbox and now if I have more than 20 I know it's been a bad day! It means that I'm not wading through heaps of emails just to find ones from clients, and if I want to send a newsletter to the @sanenews folder I don't have to take the time to train it using the rule wizard, I just drag and drop it in that folder and it's trained. I definitely wouldn't be this under control if I didn't have sanebox!

The best feature for me is its intelligence to filter email. I get about 100 emails per day and thanks to Sanebox I can successfully process them in under 1 hour per day. Their batching system of unimportant email and daily Digest is key for this. 

The SaneReminders feature is also amazing. Just CC a Sanebox address and it will automatically let you know if no answer has been provided.

I love their training system where I can "blackhole" a contact and never hear from them again! It's full of features that allows users to never look back!

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

I would love to be able to Balckhole a whole domain. Right now I can only blackhole a particular sender.
Also, greta feature for the assistant to check Digest but it would be great to give partial control over those emails, not full. For enable save in another folder all the email processed by the assistant to check later if anything interesting has been lost.

Finally it would be awesome to have the opposite of Do Not Disturb in the sense that I would like to have it always be in Do Not Disturb except on the times I check email twice a day (for example).

Email overload and processing time. I can now focus on the important and leave the unimportant to check every couple of days or once a week.

I've got 99 problems, but email ain't one! I have 3 Google accounts and Sanebox manages all of them. It cleans my inbox and allows me to focus on what matters. I never feel overwhelmed by email. It's great how Sanbox learns my habits and how I sort things. When I look at other people's email, I realize how grateful I am that there's a Sanebox in this world!

I also love the Blackbox feature. It allows me to trash spammy emails without ever opening them. Which means I get less spam overall.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

The daily summary design isn't visually appealing. I tend to gloss over it, in fact, it doesn't add much value. The user interface inside the app could be prettier, but I rarely go into anyways. All the value of Sanebox is the fact that my inbox is 100% under control with zero effort.

Too many emails come in every day. But I never have to sort through them. Sanebox does that automatically. So I only look at newsletters when I have time. My work communication is rarely interrupted by distractions.

**What do you like best about SaneBox?**

There are two primary features I use: 1) filtering, and 2) scheduling. Both are game-changers for me.

Filtering: I get a lot of emails. What's great is you can teach it to move newsletters and other low-priority items to separate folders. Saves me a lot of time as my inbox is relatively clean with high-priority items. I also love the "blackhole." You can program the system to move emails received from certain senders into a separate folder that I never check. It's a fast way to unsubscribe from a newsletter or never hear from a spammy marketer again.

Scheduling: As helpful as filtering is, the scheduling is the one I can't live without. When I am not ready to work on an email right away, I can flag it in a way that it is resent to me whenever I want it. Maybe it is a client I need to follow-up in 6 months. Maybe it is something I want to do around the house (e.g., changing my HVAC filter every three months). And I often think of things I want to do the next day, so I will set it to send the email to me the next morning. Nothing falls through the cracks now!

I can't think of anything I don't like. It does exactly what I want it to do. It is super easy. And the price is reasonable. I like that it runs on the server, so there is no software to install. It works perfectly with my gmail account.

It saves me time. But more importantly, it helps ensure that I don't drop the ball with anything I need to do. I just set it to send me a reminder on a specific date.

When I look at my email, I know what is most important. I don't have to worry about all the other fluff out there. Also, if I haven't heard from someone in a while or if they are new, they are neatly put in my SaneLater folder, which has become a lifesaver.

Honestly, there aren't any downsides. I could not imagine life without SaneBox. I've been using it for years and assume this is how email is for me now. The only time that I remember how terrible life used to be is when I changed my password, and SaneBox is disabled for a bit. I go crazy!

It's all helpful. It's a tool that if during the first six months you make a commitment to interacting with in a daily basis pays off way more than you'd expect. 

In Harry Potter speak:

Sanebox has become my defense against the dark arts and deceptions of an at times very scary electronic world.

It is deceptively simply to use and well - sure it saves time - tons of it. Though the biggest benefit to this services is in the unknown ways it brings with it a very certain peace, a genuine realignment with sanity; no longer am I avoiding my inbox because I felt like it controlled me.

I can't speak to downsides as I've yet to experience any. 

This is purely a personal thing but I'm not always thrilled with the interface - the blue and white remind me too much of Facebook - which I loathe - it's functionally flawless though  feel it could aesthetically be improved upon.

Not all email is created equal. Some are essential to business survival. Some are important but not urgent. Some deserve no attention at all and impede our ability to address priority communications. Sanebox provides user-guided, automated, email categorization enabling users to process email in a manner consistent with how they work most productively i.e. working on the highest priority email first and then other email in a structured and orderly manner. With SaneBox, I have been able to gain control of my email inbox. It has provided significant positive impact to my overall productivity.

Sanebox would benefit from continued evolution of its management console. Some processes are more difficult to administer than they need to be.

Sanebox is extremely easy to use and does a tremendous job of separating your emails into very efficient buckets: your inbox only receives the emails that are important. The SaneLater bucket receives emails that you are interested in but are not particularly important. The service continues to learn from your designations and becomes more and more efficient over time at identifying your important emails. Just these two features alone make the product well worth it but Sanebox has lots of other features to make your emails much more manageable and make you much more efficient. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

There's nothing I dislike. This is truly one of my favorite products ever.

SaneBox helps manage the onslaught of email, prioritizing important messages and saving solicitations and other "less important" messages for later consideration.  I never used a competitor so I can't compare SaneBox to others, but Sanebox's algorithms are pretty great.

There are NO downsides to using SaneBox. What I don't love is that not all the features are intuitive.  I feel as if I'm leaving services "on the table," because I haven't yet figured out how to use everything SaneBox offers.  But the services I use are great -- and totally reliable.  AND there are humans available if you ever have a question.  It's just that they are techies, and if you are unsophisticated (as I am!), some of their instructions assume a level of sophistication that I (sadly) don't possess.

SaneBox works simply in the background, through my existing folder structure. The best thing about SaneBox is @SaneLater, which intelligently determines which messages should go directly to my Inbox and which ones I can review later. I don't have to set up custom email filter rules for this to work and if @SaneLater filters and email that I do want in my Inbox, I simply move that message and future messages will go directly into my Inbox. As a result, I can quickly and easily see essential emails and then bulk-process less critical emails. So I save time and never miss a message.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

I do wish there were some more powerful custom rules available. I receive many reports and status messages and use the subject filter heavily to sort them out. It would be nice to have more options, such as using both sender and subject, to fine-tune some of these custom rules.

**What problems is SaneBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SandBox is at the center of my daily routine. Important email lands in my Inbox, where I can see and quickly respond during the day. Less-important email is filtered so I can bulk process them at the end of the day, which is faster. Before SaneBox, I would receive 100-200 messages in my Inbox each day; only 5-10% of those require immediate attention, and about 60% are FYI-only and don't require a response. With SaneBox, I've cut my Inbox traffic to 20-50 messages per day, and the rest are either bulk-processed at the end of the day or automatically filed for me. I save about 3 hours per week and respond quickly to important messages. I also use SaneBox for my personal email, where I estimate I save another 3 hours per week by filtering out newsletters and advertising emails.

So far, I have no complaints about SaneBox... maybe I could have one or two extra folders in my basic plan, I would love this! ;)

I don't need to install special software and I can use the same tools across all my accounts. I get to inbox zero at least weekly, if not daily, and I only have to look at messages when I need to. Training is great and doesn't try to overthink anything. I don't have to create rules—just move messages to folders.

**What do you dislike about SaneBox?**

I wish it cost a bit less for the unlimited plans. I use six different email accounts for different companies / contracts, and being able to have full access to all the features would be great. While the feature set does what I want it to, it would be nice to see more new features come to the service. I love the iOS app, and wish it was a bit more customizable and responsive.

**What problems is SaneBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I receive too many emails, and services that try to guess how to filter my messages (like Gmail) do so poorly and unpredictably. I save hours a week, and can triage through and respond to emails with far more efficiency at the times of day I want to look at them.

I no longer have to wade through the 100+ junk mails anymore!

Sometimes, things I don't intend to land in the Sane Later file...wind up there. I usually go through all the email addresses to recognize any I might want to read, but I, unfortunately, miss them.
