"Financial System for Education Org"

What do you like best?

Capable of a lot - manages our payroll, reimbursement, AR, accounting, HR. Easy to download excel sheets - as well as upload excel sheet changes. Captures a lot of information about employees to help inn analytics. Stores a lot of info. Can incorporate sub pay, grants, stipends. Can produce many reports into excel - very editable. Fiscal years can be broken into the school year.

What do you dislike?

Not very user friendly or intuitive. The tutorials are not easy to understand or translate to work. Information is housed in different places so completing some tasks are not always quick - load time is also kind of slow. As a CMO, we deal with many individual problems that most larger corporate companies don't face, and this system does help solve some of those, but also still not there yet.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Well thought out - hiccups and downsides, but seems to be common in school finance software. Works for monitoring multiple campuses. Works with other financial software to add in dynamic view of funds.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Payroll - makes payroll pretty easy; still tedious, but well organized. Tracking employees has been beneficial - always a place to leave notes about changes.

"Not Suitable for Higher Education"

What do you like best?

This is a great product for a K-12 school environment. The HR tools are excellent. It also provides strong a strong framework to allow individual departments to monitor their income and expenses.

What do you dislike?

It is not designed for a higher education environment and does not have the flexibility to fit into that environment. It does not handle receivables well and does not have any resources for tracking individual student accounts.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a good all-around accounting system for a K-12 environment. Anyone considering this software who is not a traditional K-12 should make sure the features they need are adequately addressed in the software because it does not seem to have the flexibility to accommodate needs that are not addressed in the original software design.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a replacement for an old accounting system that would handle all functions including payables, receivables, and payroll. The K-12 schools in our district have implemented the program and it seems to be working well.

"My Infinite Visions experience "

What do you like best?

I like that we can do many things at the same time. I like that i can pull most reports out to Excel to analyze and then import the information back in with any corrections or additions needed

What do you dislike?

some areas of the system don't talk to the other - example would be budget imported in from Provisional does not flow through to Payroll. We have to retouch payroll every year to match to budget codes, FTE it would be great if once we roll that the budgeted info would flow through

Recommendations to others considering the product:

it is a fairly easy system to use and the help topics along with support is very helpful. I still use the help area often when i have something new i'm trying to accomplish

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are working to be more efficient. Love how we can attach documentation right into the system and the auditors can go directly to the system with limited view and saves us time pulling samples for audit.

"Steep learning curve but worth it"

What do you like best?

The customization and information available in the reports is astonishing. There hasn't been a portion that has not exceeded my expectations compared to other company information system.

What do you dislike?

Initially starting the product was a bit daunting. There will be a lot of information and options thrown at you. It feels like you need either a training or a user group meeting just to help you get started. The vendor maintenance has some issues but still good.

Contact other entities to see what they think of it.

It is currently our accounting and H.R. information system. The integration is very well done. Getting audit information is incredibly easy and exactly what I need in a timely manner.

"automate and accuracy"

What do you like best?

Visions lets you forcast and track accurately all your salaries, deductions and expenses, with the ability to encumber and run reports

What do you dislike?

I had not heard of a version charter schools can use, in Arizona. Perhaps they would have less financial issues if they had visions

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have always used Visions, but the transition from Budget Visions 2x to having the budget features integrated makes it much easier now as there is only 1 system to work with.

"Our First Year"

What do you like best?

I like the export import from Excel... this can make a lot of things easier!

What do you dislike?

AR.. I use AR a lot. And have many many issues with it... also not all support staff give the same answer for the same question... especially around AR

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As this is my first year with the program... I'm still looking to solve some problems. But budgeting will be a big one.

"Positive Experience"

What do you like best?

Friendly user interface, very efficient. It has great tools to create reports. Cell Sense is very useful in making reports. Info Link is great tool to retreave the data from different tables

What do you dislike?

You have to click in a lot of places to set up something. It can be very cumbersome moving through many screens

"Gets the job done, not the most user fiendly"

What do you like best?

I am able to submit my time sheets, view payroll, and participate in training modules fairly intuitively once exposed to the site and layout.

What do you dislike?

It took a while to be able to navigate each page confidently. The mobile site is not very user friendly.

I am able to submit leave days on my own which makes it easier for my boss.

"Great for Small Districts"

What do you like best?

I like all the support you get if you need help. They are always looking for suggestions on updates. Easy to use in AP.

What do you dislike?

Not too much to dislike. Would like to learn more about the reports AP can do.

"I have had a great experience using Infinite Visions."

What do you like best?

Customer support is excellent

Customer ideas are really considered and not just bypassed.

Users are take seriously

Updates can be done when necessary and they are not just pushed out.

What do you dislike?

Updates that affect items that you are currently working on. Having to complete a particular task that could be lengthy before the most current update to the system can be done so that the new "stuff" can be used or current "issues" can be corrected with the update.

"Lots of bells and whistles"

What do you like best?

Advanced technology that allows organization of responsibilities.

What do you dislike?

Updates, although appreciated, can negatively impact other functions. There is a LOT to IV and sometimes it argues with itself.

Have onsite training for implementation.

Accoutability and demand of process. I love it when people can't bypass the processes that were put into place for a reason.

"Recent Bugs have been crippling"

Tyler products have been very intuitive, robust reporting features and Excel functionality have been stellar.

Recent updates and patches have been very crippling to the manner in which our workflows operacte.

"New at our District but no complaints"

What do you like best?

We are slowly transitioning to this system but our staff seems to like it. Speaking from HR side, we finally have a system that can house all of our needs. Personnel files, licensures, benefits, pay etc etc

Still learning so not sure what we dislike yet.

We use this system for all of our HR needs. We used to have multiple programs for different HR roles but now we can all use one program.

I like being able to monitor when my emails have been read and links are clicked in real time.

"Use of IV "

What do you like best?

Import / Export with Excel. Can manipulate information in excel for importing and reporting.

What do you dislike?

We went life July 1,2018, so am still a new user.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Research Accounts Receivable further. We are a Collaborative, where we bill school districts for tuition for their Specia Needs students, and IV is a little challenging with processing invoices, credits and payment application.
