"Very good tool for FAI documentation, It helps to complete the FAI without errors."
What do you like best about Ideagen Quality Control?

It is a good tool for Ballooning the drawing characters, it helps me not missing any key characteristics in the drawing. Easy to export the completed FAI package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ideagen Quality Control?

The only downside is sometimes the large drawing don't get uploaded directly in PDF format. That has to be captured as a snip and upload in form of JPEG image format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Maria Aksiantsiuk of Ideagen Quality Control

Hi Uday,

Thank you for your review of Ideagen Quality Control. We're glad to hear that the tool has been beneficial for ballooning drawing characters and ensuring no key characteristics are missed, as well as making it easy to export the completed FAI package.

We understand your concern about large drawings not uploading directly in PDF format. This issue is highly likely to be related to the available contiguous memory on the PC at the time of processing, rather than the size of the PDF itself. There are 'dpi' settings in the Ideagen Quality Control FAIR application that can help reduce the resolution and, therefore, the memory required to process the request. We recommend experimenting with these dpi settings, trying different PCs, or closing other software applications to free up memory.

We're pleased to hear that Ideagen Quality Control helps you work efficiently on your FAI documentation. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to your account manager.

Kind regards,

The Ideagen Team

"Ideagen Quality Control: the GOOD, the BAD, and what should be BETTER"
What do you like best about Ideagen Quality Control?

This software has made completing AS9152 and PPAP dimensional reports exceptionally straightforward. The output is always tidy and well-organized, and making updates or changes is consistently simple. It has saved me a significant amount of time, especially when handling design record updates or comparing different parts and revisions. In my experience, it is far superior to Visual FAIR or Discus, both of which I have used in the past. I have been using ldeagen Quality Management (Inspection Xpert) regularly—often several times a month—since 2017, and I have truly appreciated the excellent customer support and the way new features have been introduced to address my changing requirements. I value the software so highly that I have actually persuaded four different companies to adopt it. In my view, it is currently the best software available for this particular purpose. What do you dislike about Ideagen Quality Control?

One of my primary concerns with this software is the lack of significant updates over the past four years. The OCR component still has persistent bugs that are difficult to fix, and the OCR library itself remains quite limited in what it can do. Although updating the library appears technically feasible, there is a noticeable absence of guidance or support to help users through the process. Support for building or modifying Excel-based templates using tokens is also very limited. These factors together make deployment and implementation challenging. Since 2021, I have not seen any substantial improvements or meaningful new features added to the software. Furthermore, the recent move to a new business model that now charges for deployment or integration support is a major departure from my earlier experiences with the software, or from the way Jeff Cope managed things when the company was still based in Raleigh, NC. This all adds up to a more difficult time with integration during initial deployment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
