# What are the top-rated tools for real-time business messaging across teams?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi G2 community, I’m looking at what are the top-rated tools for <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/business-instant-messaging">real-time business messaging</a>, especially in setups where teams rely on quick back-and-forth to get work done during the day.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">This came up while looking at how teams handle things like urgent internal questions, quick approvals, or coordinating across functions when something needs to move fast. In those moments, messaging isn’t just communication, it’s how work actually keeps moving. If replies are delayed, or messages get lost in busy channels, it can slow things down more than expected.</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/slack/reviews"><strong>Slack</strong></a> – Keeps conversations fast and flexible with channels and real-time updates across teams.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/microsoft-teams/reviews"><strong>Microsoft Teams</strong></a> – Connects messaging with meetings and collaboration tools in one place.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/webex-app/reviews"><strong>Webex App</strong></a> – Brings messaging and real-time communication together with a more structured setup.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/zoom-workplace/reviews"><strong>Zoom Workplace</strong></a> – Combines chat with meetings, making it useful for teams that communicate live.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/google-workspace/reviews"><strong>Google Workspace</strong></a> – Keeps messaging tied to docs and email for quick collaboration.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I’m trying to understand how these actually work when teams are relying on them throughout the day, not just occasionally.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">If you’ve used any of these, I’d love to hear:</p><ul>
<li>When something urgent comes up, do people actually respond quickly, or do messages still get missed in busy channels?</li>
<li>Do conversations stay easy to follow, or do things start getting scattered across threads and chats?</li>
<li>Has any tool noticeably made it easier (or harder) to keep work moving without jumping between too many places? </li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"></p>
