It’s lightweight, fast, and surprisingly easy to onboard team members, even those who aren’t super tech-savvy. **What do you dislike about iconik?** The main thing I wish was better is the pricing structure, it can get a bit expensive as your storage and user count grows. Also, while the platform is powerful, some of the advanced configuration options could be more accessible without having to dive into documentation or support. Customizable metadata filters are great. Taking screenshots is quick and easy. Fast response times from Iconik Support Team. Price of Iconik is very resonable compared to other options out there. Definitely on the more cost effective end. Easy API Integration into many other products. Overall east of use from a user perspective. **What do you dislike about iconik?** Needs live ingest of assets. Needs a basic editing tool to cut together different assets. More AI integration for faces and logo's. Deletion process could be easier when deleting file types within an asset from multiple assets. **What problems is iconik solving and how is that benefiting you?** For being a startup company, Iconik is providing us with a great MAM at a great price. Having the ability to have our assets tracked in the cloud and on prem is a huge help for our editors. Storage Gateways are also allowing us to upload footage during a live sports broadcast to Iconik so that our editors can get to them remotely. We have editors and users all over the country. ### 5. While I prefer Iconik over CatDV, the CatDV remote query is how search should work. You pick a field (or fields) that you want to search and then you type in your keywords. No syntax, code, etc. It's very user friendly and quick to search huge numbers of files. If your metadata is solid you should be able to find things quickly. **What problems is iconik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to scan millions of files is great. Recently, one of our freelancers uploaded 150 clips from Kinshasa. He then added keywords and the name of interviewees to his work. That day, I can honestly say I was rather moved. It all started when Mattia showed us around Iconik and sent us a trial version with 1 hour of first meeting him. He totally lifted the veil of mystery from things like Azure. On the day we met Mattia and Iconik, we were almost up and running. That day, cloud based severs had lost most of its mysticism. Our favourite features are: -the people at Iconik: good listeners, fast and pro active. -user interface -ability to plug into many cloud space in a really simple way. -ability to move data from one server to another through Iconik. -ability to add time coded comments, then used as subtitle guide. -ability to connect clips to consent forms etc. -total flexibility on metadata fields -Pay as you go. You've read that well. PAY AS YOU GO! Use it in a way that you can afford. -So much more. Thanks for being awesome! **What do you dislike about iconik?** There's nothing I truly dislike but I know that soon batch upload will be a little bit easier. Every time I think about this, I also reality check myself: "Here I am, expecting to upload hundreds GB of footage through my bog standard wifi". Yep, Iconik has turned me into this guy. **What problems is iconik solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves a range of challenges that we thought were highly technical and expensive. EVERYONE with the right permission and the weakest internet access can now browse our footage. Matias in Barcelona: yes. Alain in Goma: yes. Bintou in Niamey: yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. it's now just so easy to find footage, check it's consented, transcribe interviews and annotate exports. Wait. Somebody wants to withdraw their consent and we've got to restrict access to all the footage in which they feature: easy. easy. easy. And so on. ### 21. OpAtom not supported ... managing & monitoring several audio tracks on a video file ... play more than 1 audio track with 2 channel L/R not yet available ... no way to rewrap / change audio track of a video media file from other audio files ... .stl (ebu) subtitle not supported : have to convert them to .srt and works like a charm **Recommendations to others considering iconik:** Stop wasting time and money : work efficiently !! **What problems is iconik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not wasting time anymore : -> Know where all our production are stored and quick find them -> Quick share media files with browsing low resolution video before downloading huge media file in high resolution -> No need to install a client software to access to media files : it just:works with a browser as Chrome and/or Firefox ### 22. I don't like that navigating away from upload page stops upload without a warning. **What problems is iconik solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to have collaboration and input from multiple sources instantly. Iconik is designed from the ground up to be the hybrid Cloud, headache-free SaaS, which doesn't get in the way of the existing folder based workflows. It mirrors on-prem infrastructure to the cloud without forcing to change the operations unlike other MAMs that "want to rule it all" . It enables seamless transition between on-prem to remote, cloud operations. To bring your own cloud, be that AWS or GCP, is super straightforward via its UI or, if you fancy, via API. The monthly costs associated with Iconik are mostly centered on the user accounts, so it's easy to scale down or up the operations, or even bring it down to a bare minimum ( 1 user a month) if you just want to keep the metadata and still track the assets. Iconik can handle production of any size: there is no fear of hitting a dreaded number of maximum assets. Iconik openly published the overview of its infrastructure services: it's agile and infinitely scalable. Its integration with Adobe Suite of production tools is top notch. It's amazing solution that immediately solves the most pressing problems of a modern media production. With the current need to migrate production to remote workflows, it's indispensable. **What do you dislike about iconik?** Nothing major comes to mind. I think the next big step for Iconik is to build a community of users and developers to open source Iconik centric API interactions with various solutions.
