Worst Customer Service Experience Ever **Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Amy S. **Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025 **What do you like best about Heartland Payments+?** I have used Heartland Payments+ for over ten years primarily for credit card processing. Initially, when I started with Heartland, it was incredibly easy to set up. I love the system overall, and the customer service was impressive when I first began using their services. I found the functionality of Heartland very useful, particularly how efficiently they managed to get my money into my account by the next day without any issues. **What do you dislike about Heartland Payments+?** I'm extremely dissatisfied with the customer service at Heartland Payments+. It's not just poor but horrendous. There was an error on Heartland's end where they charged me over $300 a month for more than a year, despite not processing any credit card transactions since October 2024. What's worse, they didn't offer any resolution or reimbursement, keeping my money unjustly. This unethical behavior, especially after I had shut down one company's payroll and credit card processing, is completely unacceptable. I can't support Heartland given their inept handling of mistakes, which cost me over $3,000 without providing any service in return. I would never consider repurchasing their services and strongly advise others to avoid them. **What problems is Heartland Payments+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Customer Service you go in circles being passed on from one person to another they are quick to take your money for services but can't get anywhere to solve a problem. ### 2. I hate to get chargeback reports from them when the customer, per the contract, shouldn't have the ability to do it. **What problems is Heartland Payments+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Once we moved the business to the US from London, it quickly became our go-to payment system with very few problems to collect money per our contracts. ### 6. It even lets you securely store the card numbers for frequent clients’ which makes things so much easier for both the client and clinic. **What do you dislike about Heartland Payments+?** Not sure if it has an app, but we only use it via the web, so that can have its own issues at no fault of Heartland. **What problems is Heartland Payments+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to safely take payments from our clients over the phone so we don’t have to be exposed to each other in these times of covid. ### 7. Our rep was very thorough when going over this program with us, which definitely made it easier on us when it was time to run payments.If there are ever any issues, a representative is available to help assist the problem (which is rare - have not experienced many - so far so good!). If you're looking for a great program to use, I highly recommend choosing this product! **What do you dislike about Heartland Payments+?** The only part I do not like about Heartland payment, is that when a card has expired, you have to re-add the card in full if the security code has changed. This site only allows you to edit the name, address and expiration date. Thankfully, we do not have too many questions that we have to do this for, but it can be a hassle if needs to be done. **Recommendations to others considering Heartland Payments+:** If you're looking for a program that has everything under one page, this is for you! **What problems is Heartland Payments+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** No problems so far, my company has enjoyed this software. One feature we love is when a customer's credit card is about to expire, it sends an email to the email address on file to let them know to update it. ### 8. It is easily accessible thru any device via the internet. It is secure and quick when needing to collect payments. The setup does not require much training or support. It is easy to navigate when needing to print receipt, cancel payment, or any other function needed. Multiple users can be logged on at the same time. It is portable, since you are not tied down to an actual machine. **What do you dislike about Heartland Payments+?** The only downfall to using heartland for payments as opposed to using an actual machine is that it requires data entry. This leaves room for error in copying off of the card. It also takes more time compared to simply entering a chip into a machine. **Recommendations to others considering Heartland Payments+:** Recommended Product for internet passed payment setup. **What problems is Heartland Payments+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Portable payments are able to be accepted throughout the whole office, I can take payments for patients in their room and make their experience more private and personal. ### 9.
