## Grafana Labs Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful, Flexible Observability with Grafana Labs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ALISHETTI S. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

What I like most about Grafana Labs is its flexibility and strong visualization capabilities. Grafana makes it straightforward to create interactive, real-time dashboards by pulling data from multiple sources such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and various cloud platforms. The interface feels intuitive and highly customizable, which makes it especially well-suited for monitoring complex microservices environments.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

One drawback of Grafana Labs is that the more advanced features and enterprise capabilities can get expensive as you scale, particularly in larger environments with high data volumes.

For beginners, the initial dashboard setup and alert configuration can also feel a bit complex. Once you start integrating multiple data sources across distributed systems, it can take a while to fully understand how to structure queries, manage permissions, and set up alerting logic correctly.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana Labs addresses the challenge of fragmented observability by bringing metrics, logs, and traces together in a single, unified platform. Rather than jumping between multiple tools, I can visualize, compare, and correlate everything in one place.

This has noticeably improved our troubleshooting speed, provides clearer visibility across microservices, and helps our team make faster, data-driven decisions with greater confidence.

  ### 2. Flexible, Clear Dashboards with Powerful Integrations and Alerting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayanth Sai E. | Software Engineer , Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

What I like most about Grafana Labs is the flexibility and clarity it offers for visualizing metrics. In our projects, we handle a lot of monitoring data, and Grafana makes it easy to turn raw metrics into meaningful, easy-to-read dashboards. The UI is clean, and we can customize panels to fit our requirements.

I also really appreciate its integration capabilities. It connects smoothly with Prometheus, Kubernetes, and other data sources without much complexity. Being able to pull metrics from different systems and view everything in one place gives us better visibility into overall system performance.

Alerting is another strong point. We can set up alerts based on thresholds, which helps us respond quickly when something goes wrong. Overall, Grafana makes monitoring more organized, visually clear, and easier to manage in day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

One thing I dislike about Grafana Labs is that the initial setup and dashboard configuration can feel confusing, especially for someone new to monitoring tools. There are so many options and settings that it takes time to understand how to properly configure data sources and write the right queries.

Writing queries—particularly with Prometheus (PromQL)—can also be fairly complex. If a query isn’t written correctly, the dashboard may not show accurate data, and tracking down what went wrong can take extra time and effort.

Another minor concern is that when there are too many dashboards and panels, managing everything can become difficult without good organization. That said, once I get used to the structure and establish a system, it becomes much more manageable.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana Labs mainly addresses the challenge of monitoring visibility. In complex projects with many services, servers, and containers running at the same time, it can be hard to understand system performance by relying only on logs or raw metrics. Grafana helps us turn that monitoring data into clear, meaningful dashboards.

In our experience, it has made it easier to track application performance, CPU and memory usage, API response times, and overall system health in one place. Rather than jumping between multiple tools, we can view everything on a single dashboard, which saves a lot of time.

It also supports early issue detection. When a metric crosses a threshold, we receive alerts and can respond quickly before it turns into a bigger problem. Overall, this improves system stability and helps reduce downtime.

  ### 3. Grafana Labs Makes Observability Unified, Flexible, and Scalable

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

I used Grafana during my DevOps internship mainly for monitoring servers and application services. We connected Grafana with Prometheus as the main data source and also used custom metrics from OTel.

What I like most is how easy it becomes to monitor everything from one place once the dashboards are set up. I created dashboards to check service uptime, system metrics and application health and also configured alerts to get notified when something went wrong. The integration with Prometheus queries works well, and real-time metrics help a lot during incidents. It saves time because you don’t have to manually check logs or servers again and again.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

The main difficulty I faced was during metric integration and dashboard setup, especially when working with custom metrics. For new users, it takes time to understand which metrics to use and how to structure panels properly.

Alert and dashboard configuration can feel complex at first and advanced features have a steep learning curve. Better and more practical documentation for real production use cases would make onboarding easier, especially for interns or beginners.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana helps in monitoring servers and services continuously in a production environment. Instead of manually checking systems or logs, we can quickly identify issues using dashboards and alerts.

  ### 29. A Disappointing Experience with Grafana Labs

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

The concept behind Grafana’s platform is promising—visually appealing dashboards, broad integrations, and the possibility to monitor metrics all in one place.

However, our overall experience turned out to be very disappointing.
Despite only testing Grafana Cloud’s Prometheus service for a short time—and encountering immediate limits that prevented any real functionality—we were billed thousands of dollars with no clear explanation or help.

Attempts to resolve the issue were met with minimal cooperation and opaque justifications that left us feeling let down rather than supported.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

Our company’s experience with Grafana Labs has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. We briefly tested Grafana Cloud’s Prometheus service—at most for an hour—and encountered immediate technical limits (remote write cap and rate limits). Despite those limits preventing a successful setup, Grafana still billed us thousands of dollars (over $4,000) for alleged “usage” we can’t verify.

When we requested a detailed breakdown (such as which metrics or IP addresses were involved), Grafana’s support team could only repeat that they saw a large volume of data hitting their cloud, insisting it was our fault without giving concrete evidence.

Their attempts at resolution were minimal at best—offering small partial refunds on a huge invoice—and pointedly ignored our contention that the usage data they claimed to have seen was inconsistent with our actual test.

Even after explaining that we never got the service fully working and canceled in fear of racking up more charges, Grafana was unwilling to provide a fair or transparent resolution.

If you’re looking for a cloud solution that stands behind clear pricing, customer-friendly policies, and helpful support, our experience shows Grafana Labs doesn’t meet those standards.

We ended up paying an unjustifiably high bill for a failed test and received almost no cooperation in understanding or rectifying the situation.

It felt like a money grab rather than genuine customer support.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana Labs aims to centralize monitoring data—metrics, logs, and traces—into one unified platform. That helps in general terms - They just dont want to execute on on helping their customers.

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

We are using Grafana to build visualizations for many types of data on our systems. The basic usage is of course DevOps DevOps-related graphs and visuals, but we are also using it to display line of business data dashboards. Grafana is easy to set up, easy to use, and produces high-quality graphs and dashboards. Its ability to connect to multiple data sources is an important feature, as well as the ability to extend it using external plug-ins.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

What I find less appealing is the pricing of the enterprise version and the fact that some important plugins are only available on the enterprise or cloud versions.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Grafana mostly to build and display visualizations and dashboards of our line of business data. While this is not the common use of Grafna it does the job very well and in many cases better than other tools in the market. We have many kinds of dashboards used by different stakeholders in the company and we are able to use them daily to keep track of our business results.

- It can be time-consuming, particularly for big dashboards with elaborate visualisations.
- The community's response time to concerns might be sluggish.
- Grafana's user interface is not as pleasant as that of certain other observability programs, such as Datadog and New Relic.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana Labs is a strong open source observability platform that is ideal for businesses of all sizes. It is very adaptable and expandable, with a big user and contributor community. However, it may be difficult to set up and configure, and it can be resource-intensive in big installations.

  ### 45. Grafana - The All-rounder for monitoring metrics, logging and alerting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

We're using Grafana for real-time monitoring metrics, alerting, and logging. For monitoring, we've integrated it with Prometheus, and for logging, we've integrated it with Loki and Promtail. Apart from this, we're looking to explore it as an APM at the moment.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

Difficult to create a custom dashboard.
Better UI is needed for Loki logs. Real-time logs are still a challenge.
Different data sources cannot be used in the same graph at the same time, causing a visual comparison of the data to be difficult.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using node-exporter, cadvisor, mongo-exporter, mysql-exporter, pm2 exporter and nginx exporter to send data to prometheus and plot graphs on grafana for real-time monitoring. Pretty helpful to debug and provide RCA for any incidents that occur.
Getting application logs using the loki docker plugin and getting logs on Grafana on a container-level.
We hope to implement grafana tempo soon.

  ### 46. Quick Visualization of New Product Data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

The visualization dashboard is easy to use and includes a wide range of display options. You can change parameters very quickly to converge on the display you want.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

You are somewhat bound by the connectors provided and the completeness of their implementation. But this was not a serious problem for my implementation. Be that you know how to use your chosen connector.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to display operating data from our IoT solution.

  ### 47. It is a very good open source platform for centralizing logs, but requires knowledge to operate it

The upsides of this solution is that it is an open-source solution, which provides wide integration to most of systems through such protocols as CEF, syslog.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

It requires expertise or good knowledge to use or operate it.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to visualize the performance metrics of most of the systems in our organization.

  ### 48. Gain exceptional visuals and insights with Grafana

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Service Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

I'm most impressed with how Grafana allows us to visualize and understand complex relationships between data that were previously difficult to see. The detailed analytics generated by the platform allow us to anticipate our needs for an optimal user experience, such as monitoring server performance levels or tracking temperature and humidity in a data center environment. By using these graphical representations of information, we can easily determine appropriate action plans to ensure the successful operation of any application landscape.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

I dislike that Grafana's edit mode is inferior to its query mode, making it difficult for users unfamiliar with SQL to modify databases and graphs. A necessary improvement would be a more user-friendly editing interface so that non-expert users can make their own changes without having to ask someone else for help in writing the necessary query.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm benefiting from using Grafana because I can monitor and analyze the data collected by my various IoT sensors in real time. And thanks to its intuitive interface, setting up graphs with different configurations is just a click away.

I loved that Grafana had custom created dashboards that we could save and recreate with the Grafana API. It was easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

Modifying the grafana.ini file to bypass user login in an embedded dashboard was difficult, and debugging was difficult.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grafana creates very pretty dashboards for the metrics that we scraped. It saved us a lot of time.

  ### 50. Powerful Time Series Visualization Tool with steep learning curve for beginners.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grafana Labs?**

The ease of building time series visualizations is fantastic. The choice of visuals available is quite comprehensive as well. However, other tools are available in the market with a cleaner interface and better response time.

**What do you dislike about Grafana Labs?**

The query-based interface to generate charts is very old school and primitive. Drag and drop interfaces are available in every BI tool, and the majority are shifting to Natural Language query semantics.

**What problems is Grafana Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of Business Intelligence Tools which focus on time series data series. I used PromQL and GraphDB to create dashboards in Grafana.
