## About GitNotifier
GitNotifier connects GitHub to Slack to deliver pull request notifications as personal Slack direct messages. Rather than creating shared PR channels, it routes high-signal activity to each individual based on their role on a pull request (author, assignee, requested reviewer, or mentioned user), so engineers see only what is relevant to them. 🔔 Notification events GitNotifier reacts to review requests, assignments, review submissions (approved / changes requested), PR opened / merged / closed, and new PR and review comments. Notifications for a given pull request are updated in place as its state changes (for example, struck through when the PR is merged or closed), keeping a single current message per PR rather than a stream of separate ones. ⚡ Acting from Slack Interactive actions let users reply to PR comments, add GitHub reactions (via buttons or native Slack emoji, which mirror onto the GitHub comment), mute a PR by reacting with 🔇, and merge a ready pull request, all without leaving Slack. 🔇 Noise control Per-user mute rules cover bots, specific GitHub logins, review-requested GitHub teams, and individual pull requests. A Reviewer Comment Quiet Mode mutes reviewer-scoped comment notifications while still delivering direct @mentions. 📝 Digests and reminders Scheduled reminders (daily, weekdays, or weekly) summarize a user's assigned and review-requested open PRs at a chosen time in their local timezone. The /gitnotifier slash command provides an on-demand PR digest, mute management, PR search-and-mute by title, and account connection. Settings are managed from the Slack App Home and a web dashboard. 🛠️ Setup GitNotifier uses a GitHub App and a Slack app. GitHub accounts are mapped to Slack users for direct notifications.

**What do you like best about GitNotifier?**

Makes git notifications across larger orgs useful again by only receiving relevant notifications, integrated into Slack! It is very simple to set up and notifications have essentially 0 delay. Well worth the price to relieve teams from getting too many notifications.

**What do you dislike about GitNotifier?**

Gitnotifier only works in Slack and no other platform. Not a real issue if your team already uses Slack.

**What problems is GitNotifier solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team members receive too many irrelevant notifications from Github for PRs. PRs now get solved faster because notifications are picked up more easily.

Notifications feel natural when they come in never intrusive or like over-communication. It’s also super easy to integrate, and it’s fast.
