  ### 1. Ganymede - Essential software for the quintessential biotech tech stack

**What do you like best about Ganymede?**

If your instruments don't natively connect to your data systems, you need Ganymede.

Ganymede as a platform provides an almost endless amount of utility to system administrators and scientific users alike. LIMS systems are quite good at letting you maintain data, but often fall very short in the arena of automating data pipelines.

Ganymede has enables our IT team to easily and seamlessly bridge data coming off an instrument directly into our LIMS and data lakes. Even though we are a relatively small outfit in terms of R+D (~40 full time users), Ganymede has saved us ~5-6 full FTEs worth of weekly labor that formerly entailed copying and pasting between instrument software and LIMS or spreadsheets.

The Ganymede team is sharp, organized, and kind. It's rare to find the combination of competency, strategy, and interpersonal fluency everyone at Ganymede has been able to consistently provide.

Implementation and integration is straightforward, with Ganymede collaborating with SMEs to build requisite pipelines and transformations. If your team has adept coders, you'll go even further. If you don't, the professional services during implementation and managed services package post-go live are both money that is incredibly well spent.

**What do you dislike about Ganymede?**

The only major downside to using Ganymede is that they are still an early stage company. The professionalism and quality of delivery is high, but the group is rapidly evolving to meet changing market demands; this is to say that it is a good practice on the system admin to be proactive on top of their regularly scheduled check-ins to see if Ganymede has upgrade core functions. Essentially, the downside is that it can be hard to keep up with the rapid pace in which they're improving the product (not that this causes any negative effects to workflows).

**What problems is Ganymede solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ganymede reduces user time spent moving data between data sources.

  ### 2. The digital data "swiss-army knife" for your Life Sciences laboratory!

**What do you like best about Ganymede?**

The agility of the Engineering and Implementation teams to deliver meaningful improvements to the capabilities of the SaaS platform. The tool covers so much of the complementary needs in our day-to-day research &development experimental work. They always welcome my feedback and often it turns into bug fixes, platform improvments, and quality of life tweaks. I'm in Ganymede every day and can monitor activities and issues across multiple instrument families and sites all in one place. I'm especially fond of the Virtualization and Modular Analysis components of the tool that allow 'insertion of a human' into an end-to-end workflow instead of making everything only have to go fully scripted from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Ganymede?**

There are not nearly as many 'plug-and-play' integrations based off of direct integration with a control software (e.g. CDS, Flow Cytometry software ect) as I was hoping for. Much of the available nodes / code has been focused on file-based activities and triggers. The most API-rich integrations tend to be driven around Cloud based platforms rather than Desktop programs that instruments are controlled with.

**What problems is Ganymede solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main use for Ganymede is to provide a controlled, secure, and protected "connected cloud data platform" for our life sciences R&D experimental work. We needed a modern solution that was "future-forward" and cutting edge - rather than "just a cloud object store" with security. It needed to be user friendly, adaptable to our constantly changing experimentation, and complement our existing suite of instrumentation and other SaaS data platforms (e.g. our ELN, Benchling). This platform (and the implementation team that enabled it) has helped us to increase the volume of data capture, with greater precision and reproducibility (independent of the researcher doing the work) -- all while reducing the overall burden on the researchers to have to manually manage their data flow through their experiment and then into our systems of record.
