I just started using GanttPRO today, and so far, I’m impressed with how easy it is to navigate. Even though I’ve only spent a few hours on the platform, I was able to create a detailed Gantt chart by importing my Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) directly from Excel, which saved me a lot of time. I could easily create a research lab schedule of all the analyses I have to run in my lab. My schedule includes multiple pieces of machinery that I entered into GanttPRO as "virtual resources." Then, for each item/event that I needed to run, I could assign the machine and enter the duration that the analysis takes to get a complete timeline of the project. I use the calendar view daily to see how long each machine needs to run and keep me on track. I also find the dashboard useful when I am asked how far along I am because it gives me a simple breakdown of what percentage I have completed and what percentage I have to do yet.
