At the bottom, it shows the font type, which makes it easier to install the exact font you need for your work. **What do you dislike about Extensis Connect?** There’s not much else to say, except that most of the time it doesn’t sync or refresh properly. **What problems is Extensis Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my project, we used only OpenType (PS) fonts. In this app, it properly deactivates the other font types and installs the exact font type I want, so the files and graphic files open easily without any issues. ### 2. If Extensis/Cloudflare servers go down, the product is unusable, severely disrupting workflow. Crucially, despite being a cloud service, there is no customer backup facility. The subscription model is misleading because the company fails to clearly state that the customer is solely responsible for all data backups. The documentation provided for self-backup is extremely poor, outdated, and required weeks of customer pressure (my own effort) to force the company to acknowledge and partially update. Its been easy to use, and straight forward. **What do you dislike about Extensis Connect?** Over the years Extensis has been slow in innovation, the software has become slower and unnecesarily complicated. Their website platform is terrible, unintuitive, confusing, unorganized, and impossible to navigate. Their support has been some of the worst I've had to deal with over these last few years, with them making it very dificult for using to solve problems. Their pricepoint has become too expensive for too little innovation and highly bloated software. I think the price is a bit high for the features it offers. I'd rather pay for a license and be able to use it as long as I want without upgrading. This can be achieved by creating a smart set but having them highlighted in a different colour would be good? **What problems is Extensis Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hundreds of fonts collected over the years which represent a massive system overhead if they are all active at once. Therefor the ability to turn them on and off at will is a must. Other apps SAY they do this, but they only work sporadically in my experience, especially when you have a lot of fonts. But Suitcase actually DOES it, and does it well..and now that they are a subscription model, they update the plug-ins often, which is nice. **What do you dislike about Extensis Connect?** Sometimes the Font Vault is a little clunky and has made InDesign crash. This ONLY seems to be an issue with InDesign, though, so it might not be completely Suitcase's fault. **What problems is Extensis Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** It keeps all my fonts together...easy to turn them on and off...easy to collect for output. They only have a subscription that renews every year. When I upgraded my iMac, I didn't want to pay the $86 a year, but now some of my older TT fonts aren't found with the FontBase software I am using now. That is $3 per month. **Recommendations to others considering Extensis Connect:** If the $86 a year is no issue, I would purchase Fusion. **What problems is Extensis Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** I did have the ability to only load the fonts I needed for a certain program or job. As a designer, I can access a massive archive of fonts without installing thousands of them on my computer. It makes life much easier when I use a different machine to continue my work - I don't have to reload fonts onto the other device because I can activate the font, and there it is - ready to use. **What do you dislike about Extensis Connect?** There are some compatibility issues for older software or versions of adobe illustrator / indesign / photoshop - but that isn't a deal-breaker. We don't use the latest creative suite suite so I end up turning off the plug-ins because it causes the applications to crash. It isn't a big problem, just a small issue with a quick fix. **What problems is Extensis Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using Extensis Suitcase Fusion has allowed us to use multiple devices on our network to use the same fonts while designing and reviewing files. Locating missing fonts is a huge pain in the behind, but adding the required fonts into a folder and activating them all in one go, is a big convenience and makes the process much more efficient. ### 48. If you can afford it, I recommend subscribing to it.
