  ### 2. Fonts on Fonts on Fonts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessie K. | Graphic Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The ease of use, simplistic interface, and the ability to categorize fonts.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I wish their were more options to organize the fonts in categories.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to quickly view all the characters and weights available in a font set.

  ### 3. Useful default tool, but not ideal for professionals or teams

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haniel M. | Graphic Design Team Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The best thing about Font Book is the ability to enable and disable fonts and not have them turned on all the time, saving precious system resource. What's even better is that Font Book comes on every Mac giving all Mac users this control (unlike other well known operating systems).

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

No ability to share fonts amongst users, which is a pain when you have large teams.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Though I use more professional software these days (Extensis Connect Fonts), in the past I used Font Book to load new fonts and control what fonts are active at any particular time.

  ### 4. Definitely worth it - give it a try!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I really like how helpful it is in organizing all of the fonts that I buy/download! As a creative entrepreneur, photographer, and brand strategist, fonts are my LIFELINE when creating specialized brands for my clients. Font Book organizes all of my files into one place. I love how putting all of my files in one place so I can easily search, identify, and view my fonts is installed right there on my macbook. I couldn't run my design business without it!

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

There's nothing that comes to mind from the beginning! The only (slight) suggestion would be more organized throughout the app interface. Sometimes my files tend to get a bit jumbled when I'm working on a new project and trying to find fonts that pertain to the client/their business. Sometimes when I upload duplicate fonts by mistake, it doesn't recognize that hiccup, and there's a bit of a workaround to that. In addition, occasionally the macbook will have pre-installed fonts on your computer. In the event that I don't want my files to get disorganized, I like to uninstall fonts I don't use and sometimes fontbook doesn't have that capability. Most of the time it's great!

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

If you're thinking about using Fontbook/the stipulations of using it, there are basically NO STIPULATIONS to using it. It's extremely user-friendly, easily navigatable, and speaks to the cleanliness of pre-installed Macbook apps.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solve my font search problem with Font Book. Before I realized the insane benefits, I would randomly search my design software for fonts that look good. Now I can see all of them in one place, and it has easily aided in the flow of my design process from start to finish.

  ### 5. Font Book is SUCH a helpful tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie C. | Professional Photographer, Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book feels intuitive when you're looking for a specific font. I love how easy it is to find the font I'm looking for and even how the filetypes are collected together super easy viewing. Not only does it look seamless, but it also showcases everything about the fonts themselves. Now I never have to wonder what is included in a font because I can just scroll through after clicking and see all of the included characters.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I don't dislike anything about Font Book. Given how it's a relativley simple program, I've never run into significant problems with it. It is what it needs to be! When I used a Windows system, it felt very slow and almost like it didn't update much even after I had correctly installed fonts. Font Book updates immediately and has never dissappointed!

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Take some time to get familiar with the program! It will become your best friend if you let it. Also, take advantage of the organizational tools that it has to offer!

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've supported smaller artists by purchasing their fonts and keeping them all in one place where I can quickly view them, without them getting lost with everything else on my computer! The organization of Font Book helps keep all of the fonts I have fresh in my memory since it's so easy to find them! And more than that, it also creates smart collections, but you can create your own custom collections as well which has helped a ton when I want to curate a spesific feel but maybe can't remember every font name. It's so easy to just look under the collections I have of "groovy" or "thin sans serif", etcetrea.

  ### 6. Comes with the Mac but its a great tool and solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Alejandro B. | Medellín Chapter Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Easy to use, very complete. With the capability to create collections of your fonts and even have smart search, that speeds the finding of the font that you need. There is no limit to fonts you could separate the personal ones with your sytem ones, and even see them symbol by symbol or with the "Quick Brown.." text to preview it. Just drag font to add them to your font catalog, and it identifies duplicates or corrupted font files.

Its the most Simple solution you would find, its not just a folder like in windows, this is a tool to manage the fonts but it keep simple what you really need to work with.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

As a font management tools I love it.. but its limited in the form of add new fonts from sellers, the only way its to add the font from the system. It would be nice to been able to enable or disable full collections of fonts. Unable to Assign keyword tags to fonts.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Its included on the Mac Systems, you could start using it from scratch, and even a lot of people doesnt even know it its there. You should start creating collections and enebling and disabling fonts.

Test it,learn to use it, and then decide if your missing other options, this tool covers just the basics.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as our primary Font management tool, even we just use it as a simple one to enable and disable fonts, to accumulate, easy way to preview typography.
I was investing in other solutions that I didnt use fully, with the Font Book and his simple solution I had been able to invest in other tools for my practice.
Doesnt requiere a long training path, its very simple and probably could be dismissed by his simplicity, but in the day to day basics, if you plan your jobs correctly it could be a great tool.

  ### 7. A good solution for managing all fonts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crisanne G. | Senior Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that I can easily search font names and see all of the styles for the selected font that are installed on the computer. It also separates for OTF and TTF and keeps that organization whether or not I deleted the original font files that I had dowloaded.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I dislike that sometimes there's a lag between fontbook and the adobe suite. I could have the fonts installed to the machine and inside of fontbook and adobe won't recognize it. I end up having to switch between fontbook and adobe fonts quite a bit to get them to sync - which isn't the end of the world, however I wish that the mac machine itself would sync fontbook to my applications a little bit faster.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Definitely use the drag and drop feature. It allows for easy and efficient font installation without having to manually install fonts individually. It saves a ton of time and makes for easy font management. Also, pin it to your dock for easy access instead of having to search through the applications window in finder.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, I had a giant folder with all of my fonts inside of it. Fontbook eliminates the need for the folder and houses them all in one place for me regardless if I kept the source file. Fontbook also allows you to categorize your fonts for easy and efficient searching, in hte past I had spent in the upwards of 30 minutes searching for fonts, fontbook's categorizing makes it significantly faster to find what I'm looking for and allows me to spend more time actually designing for my clients.

  ### 8. Font Book is Simple and Highly Effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derrek S. | Field Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I enjoy Font Book's ease of use, intuitive design, and relatively minimal UI. Though it's a basic program that comes native to the Mac landscape of devices, it makes downloading and installing fonts almost automatic. I also like that it separates the fonts into TTF and OTF for you. It's easy to display all of your available fonts and to sort through them to find one that suits your project the best.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

For the most part, my experience with Font Book has been relatively uncomplicated. I haven't yet encountered anything that would give me pause before using Font Book or dissuade me from using it. I use it for relatively low-stakes applications, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly!

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows you to organize and install new fonts on your computer easily. I love the ease of use with the Font Book UI. All i have to do is double click a font, it prompts me to install it, and away we go!

  ### 9. Font Book is Basic But Powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelley F. | Owner / Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that I can create collections for each company that I do contract work for, and I can see the fonts I have installed just for them. I also like that I can drag and drop new fonts in very quickly and easily. The preview section is very nice, as well. Another benefit is being able to export a font if you need to share it.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I dislike how the program handles duplicates. It seems to gray them out instead of deleting them. I am not sure how other font programs handle that aspect, but this is a small thing that bothers me, but it is not a game changer by any means. I also dislike that you cannot see what type of font it is... for example, TTF or OTF.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This program allows me to see all of my fonts in one place and keep them organized for me, too. This included software in the Mac OS has benefitted me since I do not have to purchase third-party software in order to meet my needs as a Graphic Designer.

  ### 10. The Easiest Drag & Drop Font Manager Around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I love the fact that I can drag and drop the fonts that I find directly into the program and it will automatically group them to the entire font family.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I wish there was a way to have them find all fonts on the system, sync with Adobe fonts, and remove any that are problematic or duplicates. I also wish I could sync them with my icloud so all my devices received new downloaded fonts no matter where I started from.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Make sure you are fully aware of the fonts you download and install. Some font files can be malicious. But, Font Book will flag certain ones that are in question.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows me to make sure that I have the fonts easily and properly installed on my computer. I have used Font Book for its ability to browse through fonts as well as install new fonts or delete entire font families.

  ### 11. Font Book is easy to use and convenient to install, manage and preview all your fonts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damaris C. | Secondary Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

What I like about Apple Font Book is that it is super easy, intuitive, and friendly to use. You don't need a tutorial to understand how it works or even install it.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Honestly, I do not find any problem with Font Book. I could not find something I dislike. It has everything I need to manage, install and preview the vast number of fonts on my computer.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

If you are a Mac OS user, Font Book is your best choice to manage fonts.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is super convenient that Font Book warns you when it detects a duplicated font in your collections. Sometimes happens that you have so many different fonts installed that you forget that you already have them. Also, you can check for duplicates and eliminate them if you want it.
The preview feature is also very nice because you can preview a sample text, the repertoire, a custom text, or view the font info.
If you need to print one, some or all fonts in your Font Book are also available or create a PDF for further needs.

  ### 12. Font Book Makes Font Management Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg D. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

What I like best about Font Book is that I can simply open a font file on my Mac and click "Install" and it is instantly added to the fonts on my machine, and it's ready for use.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

There's nothing much to dislike about Font Book. It does the heavy lifting of font management, mostly behind the scenes. It lets me spend less time managing fonts and more time designing projects for clients. I do wish that it allowed me to remove computer fonts that I don't use like the ones in foreign languages.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows me to add fonts without a lot of fuss. It keeps them organized and gives me one place to manage them. One benefit of using Font Book is that it allows me to resolve duplicate files so that I don't end up with multiple copies of downloaded fonts.

  ### 13. It has become much better!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohit S. | Documentation and Training Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I had actually taken a break from Font book and tried using other apps to manage all my fonts. But I came back as Font book gives a lot more control on your mac, and yes the drag and drop function is a lifesaver. To be able to install fonts seamlessly really improves your productivity.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I faced quite some lags before with Font book and even though its gotten so much better, still viewing a smart collection causes it to hang most of the time. The trouble for me is that I have to disable the fonts that I don't use on a regular basis to avoid the app getting hung.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was contributing to a graphic novel project, where I had to use about a dozen of Fonts. As this was a small load for the app at that time, I faced no issues in all the process, right up to the prints. Moreover, I did not have to pay extra for a third party app!

  ### 14. Simple and useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Owner, Lead Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book makes searching for the perfect font easy. All the fonts are organized alphabetically and then by style. There's a preview of the font, which is by far the most helpful feature because it helps you sample what your text will look like before making the ultimate decision.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I want an easier way to add fonts to my library. Perhaps, there could be links to free fonts that I could browse and choose instead of using other applications or websites.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When choosing a font for a project, it is crucial to see how the font will perform with a given text. Font Book's preview window lets you do just that. With this, the font choice process is efficient and easy.

  ### 15. Generic font explorer

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamus M. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The best thing about Font Book is that it is a free program to organize and install fonts that have been downloaded. I like that it is simple with no bells or whistles. You don't even need to open it for the most part. You just double click the font that you intend to install and it will pretty much do the rest of the work for you.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Font book is simple, but it has limited options. It has no capability of managing or installing fonts from online sources, and I find that the multiple copy detection isn't really that helpful. It doesn't have the greatest UX. It can get a little crazy if you try to install multiple fonts at once. Meaning, a hundred tiny windows might instantly pop up, and put you in the position to click install manually on each of them ( depending on the type of font file format you are using.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use a font book to install and organize fonts that have been downloaded from various type-foundries. It's most useful for fonts that aren't available from online sources like adobe fonts as part of the adobe creative cloud, for fonts that I need to send off to print, or for fonts that aren't for digital means, like web applications.

  ### 16. Stock App that is easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose L. | Dog Walker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book is a stock app in macOS. I love it because from all apple products, this is one of the easier ones to use and understand. It is very self explanatory and it even warns you when something isn't going to work and gives you portions on what to do. I love how you're able to label the font groups and it will automatically do it for you as well, which makes it easier to find the fonts when you're looking for them in a program.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I dislike that you have to do some weird keyboard thing to be able to scroll through the fonts and see the change in your highlighted text. Other wise you have to go one by one and keep opening the file because there isn't really a sample of the font. The names are all typed in one font.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do projects for schools, some personal ones, and have even installed my own font to my MacBook Air and Pro. It is really easy to use and there isn't a need for any third party apps.

  ### 17. Apple Font Book is an easy way to keep and organize fonts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

What I like best about the Apple Font book is that you can insert a sample text to view what it would like in different fonts. This feature comes in handy when trying to find the perfect font.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I would like Apple Font Book much more than I already do if there was an option to select which types of fonts you wanted to look at instead of sifting through every font in your catalog when font searching.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

As Font Book is natively installed on all MacBooks, my recommendation is to give it a try before searching for other font organizing software and see how it works for you. I've never needed to use any other font organizing software as Font Book has met all my simple needs in this department. If you're needing more robust software, Font Book might not be the answer for you.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that Font Book consistently solves for me is the ability to visualize possible fonts for a project while staying in the same window and without having to clutter up the actual graphic design project.

  ### 18. Easy to use font explorer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather T. | Senior UX Designer, Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The easy of use is always nice to have in a product. It works seamlessly within the apple os environment. As someone who uses multiple fonts, it is nice to be able to see them all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

There isn't much I dislike about this product. It hasn't changed much over the years within the apple os system - it always works as expected so i would not change much of anything.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am reviewing fonts that I already have installed on my computer. I can review system fonts vs custom fonts vs downloaded fonts. I also can see all characters within a font collection.

  ### 19. A good product for the default Mac app

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carrie B. | Volunteer Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that font book comes standard with my computer and it is compatible with any of the downloads from the internet that I find. Regardless of where the font is from online and if it is intended to be Mac friendly (because I do have a lot of issues with things I try to download only being compatible with PCs).

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I don't particularly appreciate that the fonts I get from the internet are not standard sized - sometimes to make them the same physical size, one font has to be like 30 pt and others are the standard 12. Sometimes the script fonts don't have quite the flow that they are intended to, but I put this onus less on Font Book and more the designer of the font itself.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Font Book is an easy way to keep downloaded fonts organized and handy and for mac users, you don't have to download any additional apps. The fonts are easily previewable and you know exactly what the individuals letters will look like before you choose to add that font to your program.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows for easy customization of products and does not limit the number of fonts I have based on the program I'm using. It's also easily integrate-able with all of the software and programs that I use in my job. Some more commonly used internet document creators do not offer a wide variety of fonts to choose from, so being able to download fonts to Font Book is helpful.

  ### 20. Easy to use, easy to add!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bethany L. | Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I love using Font Book to categorize and organize the various fonts I've added to my Macbook. I'm able to review each fonts offerings and make Collections based on aspects that they have.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I'd love to be able to search for fonts that have flourishes. Sometimes I use fonts in place of graphics and being able to quickly find ones that have glyphs and flourishes would be helpful.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization! I download tons of fonts for different projects and the Collections feature is really helpful in keeping similar ones together and reminding myself which fonts I already have!

  ### 21. Essential took for designers on Mac.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin V. | FEMA Housing Program Inspector (REDI Team), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book makes it extremely easy to search your fonts for that particular style you need for your project. There's no need to load in a font and keep switching them out in your design applications, because you can type and preview right in Font Book.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Not much that I dislike, but if you have a large number of fonts, it can sometimes get slow if you have an older Mac computer. Just make sure to keep folders organized and you should be able to get past this issue. On newer computers, it just flies.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

If you dont have a lot of money to build up your software tools as a designer, Font Book is fantastic since it comes with your Mac purchase. It is a good contender too in the race for intermediate level font managers. Of course there are better ones out there, but they'll cost you.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a designer, typography is extremely important to get the right feel from a project. But if you have a large library, it can be time consuming which out fonts in an app like Photoshop till you see one you like. Skip that step (for the most part) and scan your fonts in Font Book.

  ### 22. The Font Manager Hiding in Your Computer You Need to Know

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The best thing about the macOS font manager is that it is free and intuitive to use. Categories and duplicate finder make it a top-notch application for anyone to use.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

It would have been helpful to create fonts too, but that's not what this application is made for. Synchronization with Adobe fonts and Google fonts would be a plus. Overall there's not too much to dislike about Font Book.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Font Book is very helpful to manage your fonts but for fronts from Adobe and Google you would need to look for other solutions. Since this is something that comes with the OS there's not really a negative to not use something like this.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a designer you have to constantly work with an incredible amount of fonts, the font manager helps you keep up with them. And since you have so many you forget if you have duplicates, but Font Book will take care of that for you!

  ### 23. I think it's alright, mostly easy to understand

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessie M. | Voice Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

It is an easy way to see the different kinds of fonts that you have, and it's easy to add to and organize.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I don't always understand everything in there, but to be fair I'm not an expert either. I also wish that there was an option to have the font list display in their actual fonts when scrolling through them.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Try out new fonts and have fun!

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I didn't realize how many fonts that I don't use that can be downloaded from Font Book. I can be more creative and have more fun with my resume and other digital creations.

  ### 24. Easiest way to store fonts on Apple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin A. | Co-Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Where to even begin. First, it is so easy to use. I find myself literally clicking once and having the font downloaded to my computer. I also haven't had any problems with losing the fonts since it is stored inside the computer itself. I find myself also using the search feature a lot. As someone that uses many different fonts, I find it nice that I can look quickly and make sure I have a font in one central area.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Sometimes the font downloads don't work in certain formats. I find that the format type .ttf works the best. I also have problems sometimes confirming it is been downloaded the animation/notification that is actually has been downloaded.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working with multiple fonts and working on different projects. It is nice to have a central hub of all my fonts and categories in one place on my computer.

  ### 25. Useful font organization for the last 15 years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Livin E. | Graphic Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

As an avid user of Apple products, i have been familiar with FontBook since college days. It has been a tool already set up in any apple computer I had used, and had been useful in organizing content and fonts by font family and font style. I am still to this day using it and it seamlessly integrates new downloaded fonts as well as old ones.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I wish there was a way to group fonts that are downloaded individually, rather than having fontbook decide where they go. As well as potentially archive some fonts.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Orgnization, installation

  ### 26. Love Apple's Font Book!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley S. | Reports Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I can easily download fonts from different sites and save them to my font library with Font Book. I can also easily find and send these fonts to other team members who ask for them.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I don't particularly appreciate that Font Book is sometimes difficult to find within the interface of the Apple operating system. I often have to search through the folders on my Macbook to locate the Font Book.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows me to be more productive by providing a general location for all the fonts installed on my Macbook. I have realized the benefit of easily sharing the fonts I have established with other team members.

  ### 27. Versatile but easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily F. | Motion Graphics Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

What's best about Font Book is its easy integration of new fonts from multiple sources - and considering that it's an Apple product, that is pretty surprising.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Because of its deceptively simple interface, it can be difficult to get into more specific tasks or make use of its best features; new users may find it challenging to get into Font Book's best features.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book is the only application that I need to collect all the fonts that I need and use them across all Adobe products. It is contained, the interface is frugal but efficient, and it also makes it fun to hunt for fonts and compare/contrast.

  ### 28. Easy organization and storage of new fonts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kayla-Anne L. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that Font Book allows me to view all my fonts in one convenient place. The text previews showing what each letter of the alphabet looks like in every font is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I think Font Book is excellent. There isn't anything I dislike about it. Maybe it would be cool if there was a way to search for new downloadable fonts, but there are easily accessible ways to find fonts on your own.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book helps me keep my fonts organized and preview them before typing them into a document. When it comes to Photoshop in particular, it's nice to preview them fully because photoshop itself only displays the font's name in that font.

  ### 29. An easy to use default software for Mac users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlin M. | Digital Design Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

It's straightforward to use, and I like that it brings up previews of your font. It's suitable for managing tons of different fonts and makes it very easy to search for them. If you have a Mac, it saves so much time to use this.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

It can be a bit slow and get confusing when you're trying to download multiple different font families simultaneously. There's not much instruction on where your fonts are going on your machine or where they are currently located either.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've realized it's very quick to install fonts when I need them, especially in the middle of working. And they show up right away in the program that I'm using them.

  ### 30. Flip Book is an excellent tool for designers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Auxiliadora S. | Strategic Designer and Educator , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font book is so helpful for designers because it allows us to add fonts and use fonts for any design. A wide variety of family fonts are available. It gives mac a competitive advantage of a wide range of fonts available.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Nothing to dislike about Font book, it is easy to use and install fonts is managable.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font book solves my installing new fonts that are trending for my designs. I receive benefits because, as a teacher, I can add fonts my students have created, and Font Book makes it extra easy for them to install any font.

  ### 31. Font Book is perfect app for organizing fonts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah B. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book is extremely helpful for organizing fonts into categories and styles. It helps me access fonts specific to clients and/or projects. It is very simple to use compared to other applications.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I do not like the limitations of creating subsets of fonts within the application. It could be better if it allowed multiple groups or sets of fonts, which would improve the overall function of the app.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

If you're looking for a simple application to use for organizing and storing fonts, Font Book is perfect!

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book allows me to easily access fonts for my design projects. I can load new fonts that are specific to a client, and easily locate and use them for new projects.

  ### 32. A native font app that pretty much does all that you could need

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris M. | Owner/Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Because its native to MacOS it really is a seamless experience having it manage typefaces. It also isnt conflicting with any other software.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

A little bit more clunky of a UI compared to maybe some of the other modern font management softwares. Something might take 2 or 3 clicks to accomplish while some other apps might only need one intuitve click.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates a single place to view all my typefaces and their corresponding glyphs. It is nice being able to turn on and off typefaces so I dont have to look through extended catalogs just to find one typeface.

  ### 33. Font Book Personal Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abby C. | Student Worker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

It's free and very straightforward navigating through the Font Book system, which is organized in 3 columns when you open the app. You can also add your own collection and name it whatever you'd like, and then add specific fonts to that collection.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Font Book has limited options, which is a downfall to it's simplicity. If you try to download a handful of fonts, tons of windows pop up separately, and it isn't very pleasant to deal with.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font Book doesn't limit the amount of fonts you can download and it's helpful for someone who is on a budget and can't spend a hundred dollars on a different font system.

  ### 34. Extremely easy to use when downloading new fonts.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I design through Adobe's product indesign on the daily. When purchasing and downloading new fonts it is very easy to drag and drop into font book and in design directly recognizes that font is on my computer and I can immediately use it in adobe indesign

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Font book is a very simple application from my use. I have not dove very deep into it so I'm not sure all of the uses one can't get out of it. There is nothing that I dislike about the product but it does seem very simple

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems! The benefits I have noticed is the simplicity and it comes on all Mac's for free so we don't have to worry about purchasing an outside application.

  ### 35. Easy to use for preinstalled, difficult to add new

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily H. | Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I love that the font book comes preloaded with so many great fonts. The design is simple, the user experience is extremely simple if you have a Mac, and there is no problem if you want to stick to the existing fonts that are in the book.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I have had some difficulty when adding new fonts that I download for free off other site like 1001 fonts, freefonts, etc. The files wont read properly for some reason or aren't compatible and simply show the characters as squares.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The process to add new fonts was confusing at first, but once I worked it through once, now it seems pretty straightforward. I do have difficulty getting the new fonts I imported to show up on other apps like Word and Illustrator. They show up in the font book and are download correctly, but won't pull from there and populate in the fonts options for Word.

  ### 36. Easy to use fonts from library and easy to install fonts and use across products in mac

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richa G. | Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Easy and simple tool for fonts library. As a designer, I download a lot of fonts and use them across all products in my mac

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Duplication of fonts should be automatically resolved. It creates multiple same fonts sometimes.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

for every products, we dont need to install fonts. One time installing fonts is easy and simple

  ### 37. Font Book

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book is an excellent program that comes with the mac. It is a great way to organize font libraries for a specific use case. The program is straightforward to use.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

The product is not very front and center, meaning most people don't even know it exists. Although for most tasks the functionality of Font Book is find, some developers may find it useful to download a more premium app.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Just make sure that you are okay with its limited features.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think it is a fantastic font manager for most use cases. It is an application that is automatically all mac books so it requires no set up and is very easy to use. Therefore, I think the program is a one-size-fits-all.

  ### 38. Font Book is a Great Way to Organize Fonts for Clients with Some Limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

We use fontbook to organize limited numbers of fonts for collaborator work in addition to fonts that we organize in adobe programs. We love the option to be able to compare small amounts of text with the different fonts via zoom to show collaborators font options without the hassle of opening more complex programs.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

We do wish that there was more incorporation of online databases of fonts for easy import. Currently we use other websites to download then import separately. This is honestly one of the negatives we have for font book.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the often frustrating task of deciding what fonts go best for projects. We work with scientific data and for figures, it's a great source to test out large numbers of fonts for figure titles.

  ### 39. Font Book Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

• Font Book is a really helpful font management tool.
• You can search your fonts and view a preview of every font you have installed on your computer.
• It will also let you know if you have duplicate or corrupted fonts and remove any duplicate fonts.
• With Font Book, you can categorize fonts and create font collections.
• I like how easy it is to view all the metadata associated with a font like author, copyright year, and language availability.
• Font Book is a really helpful tool, for installing, searching, and managing your font collection, especially for designers who may have a rather large font collection.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

• I wish the Font Book application synced between devices. I use a laptop and computer, and if I install fonts on one device, I still need to manually install them on the other device. It would be helpful if Font Book had a syncing feature like the Font Base application does.
• Although you can create your own categories or collections, it would be helpful if the Font Book automatically tagged or categorized your fonts into types.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing and easily finding and selecting fonts for various design projects.

  ### 40. Very bare bones font manager

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adex G. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

There's no stand-out feature to this native MacOS app. It does as one would expect, and nothing more or less. It manages your fonts and tells you if there are any conflicts or doubles.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I mean, since it's pretty bare-bones, there's nothing I outright dislike. It handles my fonts, installs them, and that's about it. There's nothing you can really dislike.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If anything, it does warn you of any possible issues with certain fonts, as well as lets you know about any conflicts (i.e. doubles,) and gives you the option to resolve these issues automatically.

  ### 41. iTunes for Fonts!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff C. | Lead Comedian | Talent Coordinator | Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Simplicity. It's very much like iTunes. If you are an Apple/iTunes user, you have an advantage.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Some of the font alerts can be a bit confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Just make sure the fonts you import are from a reputable source. Otherwise, Font Book will flag the files as corrupt, and removing the fonts can be time-consuming.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The organization of fonts is what Font Book does best. When you get into exploring and adding third party fonts, its easy to get overwhelmed with where and how to use them. Font Book solves this quite easily.

  ### 42. Font Book - Does the Job

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassandra K. | Educator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that it contains all my fonts in one spot. That makes it easy to see what I have and what types or styles I may be missing. It also has a lot of room for storage so I don't need to worry about going overboard.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

There isn't too much that I openly dislike about it. However, I think it could be re-designed to have a more aesthetic appeal. It seems to be very standard and a little boring.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

I would recommend other people use it, even if it's just to keep you organized.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating way more interesting visuals by having access to more fonts. It makes designing my virtual projects a lot more fun! I appreciate that I can keep all my fonts organized.

  ### 43. Consumer use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font book is easy to use on my Mac. I really like how easy it is to find information online about how to use font book. These days, it is important to create interesting documents, so having more fonts to use is critical.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I wish Font Book had a GUI that was different from the GUI for the Mac Finder application. Sometimes I get confused about whether I'm working in Finder or Font Book, and I think a lot more people would use Font Book if it had a more modern GUI.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to stand out from my peers and create documents that have exciting fonts. I make a lot of slide decks, and often I need to make a deck with a specific font theme that is not already on my slide application.

  ### 44. Easy way to get to the fonts I need for design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like the way you categorize the fonts and use each of them, it groups the fonts but you can also see the extra extend them for your design needs, this is the only font fold I use. I am satisfied with it.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I do not have any complaints about this, because it keeps all my fonts in one location, I think this works well also because I only use apple and it flows well with all of my programs.

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

If you are a Apple user, I would only recommend Font Book, because of how it is interactive with all the other Apple products.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again it helps me not have to look all over the place if there is a font I need. Because it was already installed on my mac I did not want to use anything else.

  ### 45. Font Book is great for font management, but has some quirks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Easy to view all the Fonts installed on my computer, in one place.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

It has some quirks - like different User profiles or something. I'm never sure where to install the font, so I end up installing it in all locations as a fail safe.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I open a design file that has a font I don't have installed on my computer, I use Font book to install the font. Once done, I am able to edit the text in that font in my design programs.

  ### 46. Easy to Find, Glitches Sometimes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Savanna L. | administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like that I can easily see all the fonts that I have downloaded and installed in one central location and it gives me a preview of the text itself.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

I dislike that sometimes it doesn't want to download and install specific fonts.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Until I got a Mac, I didn't realize how helpful it is to see all the fonts that I've downloaded. As a teacher and now an administrative assistant, I download many fonts to help me get my message across, and Font Book allows me to use my fonts on all different platforms.

  ### 47. It is easy to use and best experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kavita B. | Senior Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Installing fonts is very easy and fun experience I feel. I never had any difficulty installing fonts.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

Initially I didn't know where to find Fonta folder. I never thought it would be under Applications folder. It is a bit of learning curve but once you know then you will not have problem finding it.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Font Book to install fonts that's it. I haven't used it for anything more than installing fonts.

  ### 48. Necessary To Use Sometimes But Clunky

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

I like the ability to batch turn on and off fonts by grouping them by categories. It makes it easier to have the right fonts accessible for the type of project you're creating.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

It's fairly resource-intensive for some reason. Whenever I use Font Book, my computer fans start running and the computer sounds like it's about to take off; also, my other programs slow down. Also, with Adobe CC Fonts, it is making Font Book a little less relevant since most fonts are now activated through Adobe and not stored locally on the computer.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font management, especially when you have hundreds or even thousands of typefaces to organize, can be very tricky. The ability to group and categorize is very necessary for a designer.

  ### 49. Font Book for mac is easy to use and user friendly to see all your font faces

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

Font Book is an easy drag and drop application that also allows you to see the font faces in real time. Makes it very easy for you to choose type faces for your design projects

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

The organization of all the fonts could be a little better. Right now you need to be able to categorize everything in the side bar but it can get unruly when you have a bunch of different categories

**Recommendations to others considering Font Book:**

Make sure you have a clear idea of all the categories you want. It can get pretty unruly if you don't know how you want to organize them in the beggining.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Font management with all the different typefaces we use at our university

  ### 50. So Simple and Awesome...but that Noto Sans Font tho!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Font Book?**

The simplicity of Font Book is what is most helpful. I can drag and drop the font into Font Book, and it is automatically available for use in the applications on my computer.

**What do you dislike about Font Book?**

The only problem with Font Book is that the Noto Sans font has 60 versions (yep, I counted), and there is no ability to remove this font even though I have never uploaded it. One can imagine where this becomes a problem on the drop-down font menu when working in Illustrator or Photoshop. It is very frustrating and time-consuming.

**What problems is Font Book solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a graphic designer, Font Book is invaluable with its ease of use as I consistently upload new fonts onto my computer. It has increased my output because I save so much time adding new fonts for designs.
