The interactive map use is easy and allows us to better visualise the layout and curatorial decisions of the stalls. We have used this for three years now and have signed on for another two years. The customer support has been great, and features that we have suggested have been implemented. Using it year on year is easy, with the added support of the ExpoGenie team. **What do you dislike about ExpoGenie?** As we are an Australian based festival, we must be patient waiting for the US to come online if we have any questions or in need of assistance. **What problems is ExpoGenie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fair Day is one of our signature event of our festival, which incorporates 6 stages, over 100 performers and 300 stalls, a combination of community and commercial. We have tried a number of platforms, however ExpoGenie allows us to run an approval process, sales and communication platform with ease, with little to no negative feedback from the community in the ease of the system. It also allows us to keep track of return stallholders year on year. The addition of the invoice process has made it even slicker in terms of functionality, as government departments do not pay by credit card. ### 2. I did a lot of research when deciding on ExpoGenie and their pricing was so much more competitive than the majority of platforms I reviewed. **What do you dislike about ExpoGenie?** The reporting functions are not as robust as I'd like. I'd like the ability to pull task reports for ONLY exhibitors assigned to the task. You need to get creative with how you pull reports to get the info you need. **Recommendations to others considering ExpoGenie:** This platform is a great value! One place to house/maintain the floorplan, provide a task list with clear instructions, and all the information they need to plan for their sponsorship at our event. Our exhibitors have a much easier time keeping track of everything they need and love having one place to go to submit deliverables and receive important information. Compared to the one I was using before, this was definitely an improvement. **What do you dislike about ExpoGenie?** The payment system was awful. If you allow people to make a deposit, there was not a great way to follow up about the second payment. Additionally, we had a company report the charge as fraudulent because the charge came through with a name that didnt say the name of the portal in it. **Recommendations to others considering ExpoGenie:** Take a lot of time upfront to walk through all the systems. Create a fake login and walk through it from a users viewpoint. **What problems is ExpoGenie solving and how is that benefiting you?** That's a great question. Right now, it's difficult to sort through task completion, as it shows every exhibitor, even if they don't have that specific task assigned to them. More filtering would make this easier to navigate. Launching a collaborative show with two other organizations with only 5 months to plan it start to finish meant high anxiety, lots of questions and lots of coordination. Derek was beyond patient with us. He was always right there to answer our questions and provide a great overview of the product so we could set our minds at ease that we were making the right decision. ExpoGenie has all the bells & whistles but without a break the budget cost. And it's a very intuitive platform to use. **What do you dislike about ExpoGenie?** Nothing to dislike so far! We're still new into the buildout but are very pleased with the customer service, process and opportunities so far. This saves me tons of time. I also really appreciate that after we set up our portal for our 2020 event, we just had to make some updates for 2021. The customer service team is excellent to work with and very responsive when I need help. Our exhibitors have been very impressed with our portal - we are a small operation just learning the ropes of trade shows, but expo genie makes us look like pros! It definitely gives us an edge over our competitors who do mail-in registration and booth booking. **What do you dislike about ExpoGenie?** There are some features that I would like to see upgraded. For example, there is no mechanism to add a discount for multiple booth purchases (aside from a coupon code which is a percentage off the total amount, which doesn't work for our pricing model). I have worked around this by issuing invoices from my bookkeeping program. But some exhibitors have been confused when the expo genie cart total isn't discounted. **What problems is ExpoGenie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before using expo genie, exhibitors would submit their registration not knowing if their preferred booth location is available. With expo genie they can see the floor plan in real time, select their booth from those available, and know right away what booth they're getting.
