## Explorer Eclipse Reviews
  ### 1. User-Friendly Project Tracking from Start to Finish

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dee D. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

What I like best about Eclipse is how user-friendly it is. You can track each project from start to finish and also keep track of your documents for each project. I also like that you can sort what you need within fields.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

So far, I haven't found much to dislike about Explorer Eclipse. It's one of the simpler programs I have worked with in a really long time.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a Project Coordinator in the company I work for. Being able to access costs, do change orders, or even just setting up each project all in one program is great!

  ### 2. Effortless Data Handling with Explorer Eclipse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandy B.

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

I like how reporting is easy to use and how data is easy to export and import with Explorer Eclipse. I appreciate the amount of data you can pull from Explorer Eclipse. The Record of Employment functionality also works especially well.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

I think the ease of reviewing data entry items on the paystubs could be better. It would be nice to be able to review the paystubs as data is being entered so we can see the changes live. Also, it would be nice to be able to delete all the Standard Earnings and Deductions at one time, rather than one by one.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Explorer Eclipse makes reporting easy, and data is simple to export and import. I like the amount of data I can pull from it.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thank you, Brandy. We’re glad to hear reporting and data access have been strong for your team, and that Record of Employment functionality is working especially well.

We also appreciate the specific feedback on live paystub review and batch updates for standard earnings/deductions. We’ve shared this with our product team as we continue refining payroll workflows to make review and maintenance faster and easier.

  ### 3. Powerful Reporting, But Outdated Interface Hampers Usability

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graham S. | Project Manager, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

It is a powerful platform that provides detailed reporting and very granular cost control.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

The interface is horrendously dated and the UX is painful to use, having to utilize multiple clicks to achieve even the most basic of tasks. The use of screen real estate is particularly awful as you will be trying to read a tiny window on a massive screen that can only be expanded by manually dragging it out.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work on the project management side and use eclipse to manage my budgets, approve invoices, and generate reports for monthly performance reporting on the projects under my umbrella.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Graham. We’re glad to hear that there are some positives in your experience using Eclipse on the project management side, especially when it comes to detailed reporting, cost control, and managing budgets and invoices for your projects.

We'd also like to acknowledge your comments regarding the user experience. Over the past several years we have released several versions and have made significant strides to improve both data entry and reporting to be more user friendly, efficient, and intuitive. These improvements are part of our continued focus on making Eclipse easier to navigate while still delivering the depth and power our customers rely on.

Customer feedback like yours is essential in helping us continue to refine and enhance the platform. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and for being an Eclipse user.

  ### 4. Efficient for Job Costing, Needs Better Data Export

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erika H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

I like the excel uplink feature in Explorer Eclipse. Most of our backup documents and records are in Excel, and the uplink provides an easier way to migrate data from local to Eclipse, which is really time-saving.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

I find it hard to download specific data frames, and the export Excel format being Excel 2003 is annoying. After downloading, I need to re-format before doing any analysis. Additionally, while the initial setup was easy, migrating was painful.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Explorer Eclipse to keep month-end processes smooth and recordings organized. It helps with job cost control by class and its Excel uplink saves time in migrating data, which is important as most of our backup documents are in Excel.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thanks for sharing this, Erika.

We’re glad the Excel Uplink has been a real time-saver, especially when so much supporting documentation lives in Excel, and that Eclipse is helping keep month-end processes smooth and organized.

We also appreciate the candid feedback on export options and the migration experience. Improving export flexibility and making transitions easier are areas we continue to focus on, and feedback like yours helps guide that work.

  ### 5. Explorer Eclipse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

I love how integrated this system is. The way it connects many of our departments from, our Accounting team with our Project Managers, Purchasing Manager, we are able to share key information quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

Even though the help center is fast and efficient to get back to us, sometimes having the ability to reach out by phone to connect with someone would be helpful instead of having to create and submit a written ticket for any issue that comes up.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have worked with them in regrades to our PO system and have seen many positive upgrades over the past year.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thanks so much for your review. We're really glad to hear that Eclipse is helping your teams stay connected and work more efficiently across departments. We love hearing that the integration between Accounting, Project Management, and Purchasing is making a difference in how you share information.

We also appreciate your note about support. While we’re happy to hear the help center has been quick to respond, we totally understand that sometimes it’s easier to just talk to someone directly. We've passed that feedback along to our team as we continue looking at ways to improve the support experience.

It’s great to hear the upgrades to your PO system have been working well for you too. Thanks again for sharing your experience with using the platform.

  ### 6. very robust program!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carly D. | Corporate Controller ( CFO), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

Explorer has nearly limitless possibilities for reporting and built in functionality. The different modules ( project management, payroll, analytics) work really well together and can provide some valuable information. Dashboard provide information quickly and can be shared with co-workers.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

There are so many ways to set up payroll items and project management that it can easily become overwhelming. I have yet to be able to set up anything payroll related on my own. I regularly have to schedule a training session. The training staff are excellent, and very informed, it would just be nice to have a standard set up so that the instructions on the Explorer University online guides were more helpful.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Explorer provides a centralized system where all our information can be stored, linked and accessed. We can properly job cost our employees and track equipment and hours and accurately assign a running cost. We get a true understanding of how much our jobs are making and can easily identify less productive crews or equipment.

Additionally, the level of details and automation available for reoccurring journal entries, depreciation schedules and payroll submissions makes the life of management easier.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review, Carly! We're really pleased to hear that the reporting, dashboards, and module integrations are delivering value and helping your company get a clear picture of project performance and profitability.

We appreciate your honest feedback about the setup experience, particularly around payroll. We understand that payroll setup can be complex, and while Eclipse aims to streamline this as much as possible, we recognize there is room to improve. Your suggestions about standardized configurations and clearer educational resources are especially valuable, and we have shared them with our team as we continue working to make setup and self-service more intuitive.

We're glad to hear our training team has been a strong resource for you, and we’ll keep working to make sure that support is paired with even more accessible tools and documentation.

Thanks again for sharing your experience using the software!

  ### 7. Simplifies Accounting Tasks with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey P.

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

I like that Explorer Eclipse reduces manual work, making my tasks in accounts payable/accounts receivable easier. I also appreciate its simple layout, which makes things on screen easier to find.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

It could be more streamlined, tickets could be entered by job instead of repeatedly entering the same information for each ticket.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Explorer Eclipse for Accounts Payable/Receivable to reduce manual work. The simple layout makes things easier to find on screen.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thanks so much for the feedback, Kelsey. We’re glad Eclipse is helping reduce manual work and making AP/AR easier to manage, and that the layout is helping your team find what they need faster.

We also hear you on ticket entry efficiency. We’re continuing to evaluate workflow improvements that reduce repetitive data entry and help accounting teams move through high-volume tasks more quickly.

  ### 8. Easy to Use with Simple Payroll & HR Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilir G. | Payroll Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

Easy to use, and simple set up in payroll and HR

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

Slow when processing larger payrolls, takes time

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems came in last year

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review Explorer Eclipse, Ilir. We appreciate the feedback on our Payroll feature.

  ### 9. Purpose-Built Software That Could Use a Modern Touch

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

Explorer Eclipse is tailored specifically for construction, which makes it far more relevant than generic accounting or ERP systems. The job costing functionality is solid, and once properly configured, it gives you great control and visibility over projects. The integration between cost codes, GL, and job reports helps streamline workflows. Support is generally responsive and knowledgeable, which is important when dealing with industry-specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

The interface can feel dated and unintuitive, especially for new users. Customization often requires consultant involvement, and some tasks that should be simple—like report generation or correcting entries—can be overly complex. There’s also a learning curve due to a lack of user-friendly documentation or training materials.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Explorer Eclipse helps solve the complexity of managing job costing, payroll, billing, and general accounting all within a construction-specific framework. In our industry, it's critical to track labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors accurately across multiple jobs—and Eclipse brings all of that under one system.

The biggest benefit is having real-time visibility into job performance. We’re able to monitor budget vs. actuals, manage change orders, and generate reports that actually reflect what's happening in the field. Payroll integration is also a huge plus—it handles union and certified payroll requirements well, which saves us a lot of time and compliance headaches. Overall, it's improved accuracy, reduced manual data entry, and helped us make more informed decisions.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thanks so much for your detailed review. We're really glad to hear that Eclipse is helping your team manage job costing, payroll, and project visibility in a way that fits your needs as a construction business. It’s great to know that the integration between cost codes, the GL, and job reports is making a difference, and we’re especially happy to hear that payroll handling has saved you time and headaches.

We also really appreciate your honesty about where things could be better. We work continually on modifications and enhancements to Eclipse to make the end user experience better, especially for new users. We have also shared your input with our product and training teams to help guide future improvements.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. If you'd ever like to chat about ways to streamline anything further, your Explorer Account Manager would be able to help facilitate this.

  ### 10. Great Software with amazing support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Explorer Eclipse?**

I like all the support that is available, online manuals, easy support ticketing and fast responses.

**What do you dislike about Explorer Eclipse?**

It is a steep learning curve and very expensive.

**What problems is Explorer Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Explorer Eclipse is helping us manage our accounting and project management, which has allowed our company to be as successful as it is.

**Official Response from Patti Green:**

> Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to leave a review. We’re so glad to hear that Eclipse is helping support your accounting and project management needs — and even more excited to know it's contributing to your company's success.

We also really appreciate your feedback about the learning curve and cost. We understand that implementing a powerful ERP system is a big investment, and we’re committed to making sure our customers get the most value out of that investment. It’s great to hear that our support resources and response times have made a positive impact.

Thanks again for being part of the Explorer community. Reach out if you need anything!
