## About Dibs – Preorders & Backorders
Dibs is a Shopify preorder and backorder app that helps merchants keep selling when products are out of stock, coming soon, or made to order. Instead of showing a "sold out" button and losing the sale, Dibs replaces it with a preorder or backorder option so customers can still buy and merchants keep generating revenue while inventory catches up. Dibs is used by DTC brands, fashion stores, product launchers, and any Shopify merchant where demand regularly outpaces immediate supply. Key features: - Preorder and coming soon: Let customers purchase before stock arrives, with a preorder button on product, collection, search, and home pages. - Backorder management: Automatically switch out-of-stock products to backorder mode with clear fulfilment messaging. - Flexible payments: Supports full payment, partial deposits, and Book Now Pay Later merchants decide how and when customers are charged. - Automated reminders: Send scheduled payment reminder emails with links when the remaining balance is due — no manual follow-up needed. - Oversell prevention: Checkout validation and inventory limits stop merchants from committing to more units than they can fulfil. - Preorder discounts: Offer early-bird pricing to incentivise customers to commit before stock arrives. - Performance dashboard: Track preorder and backorder orders, status, and sales from one view.
