If you have to transport a load by land transport and you want to track it, the best application you can use is Macropoint. You can activate it on your cell phone or from your desktop. Precise information about the location where it is located will be transmitted and will be seen on the maps that are updated, they can also be reflected in your TMS system if you integrate it. And if you have any connection problems, you can contact support so that they can assist you, giving you the details of the problem and many times they helpd you to contact the other party to fix the connection problems. **What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?** What I don't like is that it has a certain frequency time to obtain GPS updates, the minimum is 5 minutes, however it would be very good if it could transmit live. I don't have constantly check the truck's ELD and relay status multiple times per day via email. I just have to plus in the truck # and it tracks the truck every couple hours from start to finish. Often times, the other 2 don't work. In the old days, we'd spend time trying to learn and disagonose why it wasnt working. Nowadays and rather than spending time trying to get to the bottom of it, our new rule is, "just switch it to macropoint". Starting to wonder why we even need the other 2x tools. **What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?** Honestly, the only negative thing I can say is that I don't like typing out the word Descartes. Drop that. Call it simply "Macropoint". **What problems is Descartes MacroPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us keep a constant eye on our freight; something our customers appreciate very much. It also helps us catch problems ahead of time, as well catch carriers in a lie. ### 33. I just wished all brokers used it. **What problems is Descartes MacroPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Macopoint helps carriers solve the bridge between carrier and broker tracking. US carriers have our own ELD systems, but most don't let brokers view the driver's location. Macropint allows brokers and carriers to view the same real-time data whenever it's in use. ### 34. MacroPoint is much better then other platforms but the cost is almost triple. **What problems is Descartes MacroPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to connect VIA ELD much easier so more carriers are connected that way instead of cell phone tracking. This helps us to get a more accurate tracking on the truck and drivers wont be able to turn the tracking off as easily. ### 37. You can track every driver and freight without calling or emailing the drivers or dispatchers, The GPS is very precise and it tell you when they arrived or departure from some point and it tells you the real time and the real time zone. Drivers can also mark it manually to an accurate update, its a wonder. The drivers download this app and its very easy to install and to set it up, Me as a track and trace agent I use it on every load. It's a live saving. Some times when Macropoint is down, the only thing you have to do its to call support and they will solve it in a snap. But its not only on mobile phones, you can integrate MP via ELD, and its even more accurate. **What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?** When its used on mobile phones sometimes stop working, not because the app, just some phone GPS are not that good. **What problems is Descartes MacroPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Effectiveness and efficiency on my daily labors as a track and trace agent. Thanks to MP I know where the truck is on real time if its working correctly. That saves me from doing a load of calls or emails to my carriers, I don't annoy them any more I just track it via MP, and that's it. Belive me, that's grat if you need to take care of your carrier's relatiionships. ### 47. You can be proactive if there is a time issue thanks to the app. I also love the fact that the arrival and departures are noted if the shipper/receiver has a geo fence. My company uses MacroPoint to track all of our company trucks and brokered carriers. Integration is very easy via cell number or truck/trailer numbers. **What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?** Although i love the geo fences at some shippers/receivers, it also gives false arrival and departures. The app will show delivered/arrived even if the load is just in the vicinity. Some of our customers rely on that for approvals on detention. I also would prefer it use military time when inserting load info. **What problems is Descartes MacroPoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Customers are now expecting visibility on their freight. MacroPoint is the tool that helps with assuring that customers are satisfied with our service. ### 48.
