I like receiving emails with tracking information and the ease of using the Descartes MacroPoint app and website to check the caller ID and know where the cargo is located. It really helps us track the trucks and see the unit's location so we can take action if there's a deviation from the planned route. The updates maybe? I mean, some clients would like to get updates, like, more frequently. So sometimes, like, the lapses of time maybe ten minutes or one hour, for some people is too long. So maybe having, like, small errors, gaps of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Macro point provides the visibility and data necessary to reduce labor hours performing tracking and tracing shipments by providing real alerts that allow our team members to focus their efforts on exception shipments that are running late. I dislike the methodology where if we provide an update to macropoint for pick-up or delivery and macropoint never secures a connection with the carrier TMS, the truck ELD, or the driver cell to deliver visibility it is counted against our shipment allotment under our subscription. For example, we notify macropoint through integration that a shipment (it has not yet established connection for) has already picked up through integration so we stop getting alerts for late pick up or delivery this automatically counts against our subscription allotment. We do not send an end job request because we would like macropoint to continue attempting to establish connection. It seems that Macropoint should not count these as billable events if connection is not established and visibility is not delivered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful think about macropoint has been the seamless integration with our tms system, Salesforce, which has made visibility easier on tracking shipments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some issues our team has run into while working with macropoint is issues with geo fencing and how the radius of the fence affects in and out times with carriers triggering it. I thing that is important to be sure that when the DOT is linked be sure that the trucks are linked with ELD. Also the long time that can take the process with the ELD provider to link the Trucks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface is very friendly, even for new users like me. It’s really quick, the information is always accurate, and it loads very fast. Honestly, my only note is that the interface looks kind of plain and a bit boring, and there isn’t much room for personalization. I also have some photophobia, so a dark mode would be really helpful and awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Macropoint has been integrated into the load dispatch window on the TMS I use and it has been great as i don't need to look to mulitple websites, with more truck companies getting ELD integrated it has been a super easy tool to stay on top of loads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
