"DbGate: Versatile, Fast, and Open-Source—ER Diagrams Could Be Smoother"
What do you like best about DbGate?

Been using DbGate for a few months now to manage our PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, and I'm really impressed with how well it handles multiple database types in one clean interface. The SQL editor is fast with great autocomplete, and I love the Excel-like data filtering that makes finding specific records super quick. Schema comparison tool is incredibly useful for keeping dev and production environments in sync. The cross-platform support works flawlessly on both my Linux workstation and colleagues Windows machines.

Overall, it's become my go-to database tool, especially since it's open-source and supports both SQL and NoSQL databases without any extra cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

One minor downside is that the ER diagram visualization could be more polished - it gets cluttered pretty quickly with larger schemas and lacks some of the advanced layout options you'd find in dedicated modeling tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, lightweight PostgreSQL client that beats pgAdmin for daily work"
What do you like best about DbGate?

I use DbGate for PostgreSQL on Windows. It’s fast to start, the SQL editor is snappy with autocomplete and query history, and switching between code and results is instant. Tabs make multi-query work easy. The data grid handles inline edits, quick filters and copy/export to CSV/JSON/Excel without fuss. I like the simple object browser, saved connection profiles, sensible keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and SSL support. Working across multiple servers, databases and schemas is smooth and predictable, which saves time every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

price for Peremium :)

A few niceties are still missing: stronger built-in schema diff/compare, richer EXPLAIN/plan visuals, and optional cloud sync for connection profiles. Role/permission management is basic. None of these are blockers, but they would round out the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why do I like dbgate"
What do you like best about DbGate?

First of all, dbgate supports a wide range of databases

Secondly, it is extremely convenient for retrieval. At the same time, it performs very well in batch data modification and is really easy to edit in daily data maintenance

And his additional functions, data comparison, and table structure comparison are all very important reasons why I like him

Moreover, the latest update has also added the field descriptions of the database tables. I love it so much Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

Currently, dbgate is very much in line with my usage habits. At present, it would be even better if it could provide more support in the design of the ER diagram of the database Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Finally, a Simple and Powerful Alternative to SSMS"
What do you like best about DbGate?

After moving my workflow from Windows to macOS, I needed reliable alternatives for Windows-only utilities—especially SQL Server Management Studio. Other SQL clients gave me headaches with Kerberos and integrated Windows Authentication, but DbGate worked flawlessly right from the start.

What I appreciate most is how lightweight and open-source it is, while still running smoothly across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Managing multiple databases (both SQL and NoSQL) in one place is effortless. Running queries, editing or visualizing tables, and importing/exporting data all feel straightforward. The plugin system also adds great flexibility for different workflows.

Admittedly, the UI felt a bit unfamiliar at first coming from SSMS, but I quickly adjusted. Now DbGate has earned a permanent spot in my toolkit. It’s simple, powerful, and saves me time every day. I’d highly recommend it to developers, DBAs, or anyone looking for a dependable cross-platform database manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

The interface took me a little time to get used to since I was coming from SSMS, but after adjusting, it actually feels much cleaner and more intuitive. That learning curve was worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DbGate: Unbeatable Simplicity and Functionality"
What do you like best about DbGate?

I love DbGate for being the best database management application I found on the internet. What really won me over were its robust features and the ease with which I can use them. The process of connecting and managing data is extremely simple and efficient. I can manage multiple databases across various instances in a simple and functional way, which gives me more time and reduces my concerns about how to do it. The simplicity and functionality of DbGate are characteristics that positively impact my daily work, allowing me to focus on other priorities. Compared to other providers in the market, DbGate offers significant advantages, presenting itself as a complete application. This combination of simplicity, functionality, and competitive advantage makes me consider buying it again. I give a score of 10 to the likelihood of recommending DbGate to others. "DbGate: A Reliable, Lightweight Powerhouse for Database Management"
What do you like best about DbGate?

I find DbGate incredibly efficient, reliable, and impressively lightweight, making it stand out among other database management tools I have used over the years. It supports a wide range of databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite, and MongoDB, within a single, unified interface, facilitating effortless switching between connections while maintaining smooth performance even with large datasets. I deeply appreciate how lightweight and responsive it feels, offering a clean workspace without any unnecessary clutter or features, allowing me to focus on efficiently querying, managing, and analyzing data. The powerful and intuitive query editor, with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, and direct table editing, significantly enhances my productivity. I am also pleased with the active and continuously improving open-source community behind DbGate. Its professional-grade functionality in a minimal and elegant package has made it one of my go-to tools for daily database work, especially since it's completely free. Setting up DbGate was refreshingly simple and straightforward, with quick installation and automatic detection of most database drivers. This seamless setup, combined with its ability to handle multiple database connections across different engines in a single interface, is a big advantage in my work. The data visualization and filtering tools in the results grid facilitate quick data validation and cleanup. These features, coupled with DbGate's speed, clean interface, and versatility, make it a tool that consistently does its job well, enhancing my productivity and earning my continued preference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

The main improvement I’d like to see is a more advanced query history and session management system. Being able to organize past queries, tag them, or sync them between environments would really enhance productivity. Maybe also adding a few more keyboard shortcuts or automation hooks for repetitive tasks. But overall, it’s already a very efficient tool — just a few refinements would make it exceptional. "Versatile Tool with Efficient Query Handling"
What do you like best about DbGate?

I found DbGate to be very useful for my startup's SaaS services, particularly in managing databases and handling queries efficiently. It is straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy to set up and operate. I appreciate that it is small in size yet powerful, as it can handle big queries quickly. Its capacity to manage multiple databases like Redis, Mongo, and Postgres from one interface is incredibly convenient and stands out as a significant advantage, especially since I have experience with handling Redis databases. Additionally, DbGate proved to be a resource-efficient tool when compared to other options like Mongo Compass and Redis Desktop Manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

I find that DbGate could improve in generating more detailed reports and enhancing the GUI analytics. A more robust query builder and better wizards for importing and exporting would also be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's a fast and versatile db tool, with Vim enabled."
What do you like best about DbGate?

I've been using DbGate for a while now, and honestly, it's surprisingly fast for an Electron app - it feels just like a native program. The built-in Vim support is a game-changer for keyboard ninjas like me. It also supports different kinds of data imports/exports and data synchronization between different databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbGate?

It lacks SQL debugging functionality, and the ER diagram is not as powerful as a DB designer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
