## Cactus Reviews
  ### 1. Cactus - Makes Your Job Easier!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randi W. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**Describe the project or task Cactus helped with:**

Cactus Credentialing software is designed to hold medical provider demographic and professional data that health care facilities and insurers must review at regular intervals. The software helps manage this process. Based on the data, one can also run various reports to facilitate both the review process and basic operations. For example, one can run a provider report indicating those with an expired license -- or proactively send reminders that the provider must renew and update the credential. Since health care providers must maintain multiple credentials with different renewal cycles, this is handy. Cactus can import data from other data systems, which is a huge plus -- it eliminates much rote data entry.

**What do you like best about Cactus?**

I like that data import limits tedious data entry but found some imported data still needed tweaking or formatting. Ultimately one has a complete electronic profile dossier on each provider that facilities can use for review. An electronic profile significantly streamlines the review process vs. assembling multiple copies of manual files. Individual files can be exported and sent via email.

**What do you dislike about Cactus?**

The software can be purchased/set up in a very basic manner, or additional add-on modules can make it a complete credentialing solution. While it is advantageous to have the extra features, most facilities don't purchase all the bells and whistles. For example, there is the ability to check the National Practitioner Data Bank and OIG Database etc. for sanctions automatically vs. a manual process. I love that the features are available and it is just frustrating when the organization has not taken advantage of this automation.

**What problems is Cactus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credentialing has both financial and health care quality implications, and Cactus helps organizations meet the quality and regulatory requirements and measure progress on achieving objectives.

  ### 2. Simple to use but a bit outdated

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mindy G. | Internal Operations Technician, Insurance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**Describe the project or task Cactus helped with:**

We utilize Cactus to track our incoming mail workflows. It works well and allows for segregation of duties. However, it is a bit of an outdated system. The functionalities are limited and only truly built to what other users allow.

**What do you like best about Cactus?**

The upsides of cactus is the segregation of duties, allowing for each user to be specifically assigned different roles and capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Cactus?**

The downsides of Cactus lie in the outdated system. It works well but the look, feel, loading time, user interface are all outdated.

**Recommendations to others considering Cactus:**

Its great as a workflow tool, easily tailored to individual users.

**What problems is Cactus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great as a workflow tracker.

  ### 3. Saddly not the best.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy A. | Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2018

**Describe the project or task Cactus helped with:**

To organized and explote our creativity and find a way to make our work more easy.

**What do you like best about Cactus?**

The interface is fast, and is very user-friendly, so is very easy to work with, and not complicated.

**What do you dislike about Cactus?**

Is not attractive to the eye, and is very lame, didn't offer that much and it doesn't look professional. I think that if they put more effort they can get better, they just need to reorganized.

**Recommendations to others considering Cactus:**

If you can, give it try, and draw your conclusions.
