It runs slowly, the new uploads make it difficult to quickly get task information. There are a bunch of work arounds with storing property information. Property pages could be better built out Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really appreciate Buildium’s customer support and technical team. They are consistently working on coming up with better versions of different modules, which greatly enhances my understanding of how the system works and identifies ways of improving it. I dislike the limited report customization in Buildium, as it restricts my ability to add or delete elements as needed. The initial setup of Buildium wasn't very easy for my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GST for Canadian clients is the best as we are able to print separate GST reports for tax purposes. I also like the communication hub, because being able to track all communication with tenants and vendors is essential to having complete records, should they be needed later for tenant legal disputes. I wish swapping out partial tenants mid lease was easier. We tend to get some errors and have to manually correct these types of files. I also wish there was an option to have multiple units in a single building display as individual lines, rather than clumping it into one property, with having to select multiple units. Can be a learning curve for new users. Have to take a lot of online courses that they offer for free. Buildium is feature-rich and ideal for medium to large portfolios, but can be costly, complex to learn, and less ideal for very small landlords or those needing highly customized reports. I started using Buildium almost a year ago. Since my parents are old and I will be busy with my job collecting rent and keeping track was always a hassle. A friend of mine suggested to use Buildium and to my surprise it helped me with my issues. Now I can keep track of who has to pay me the rent, who is due to pay and also I am able to maintain all the documents in one place which is also a big help and I can be clumsy at times. It's a great software to use. But adding initial data like the rental agreement details, setting up late fees and adding new entry of the tenant took time initially. Could have been better if I could have asked the tenants to do this work instead maybe by sharing a link to them and I can disable it once all details have been submitted. it is very convenient to use the email and text system are very nice and being to track tenants is very easy and it does a good job of making sure people don't fall through the cracks.

the UI is easy to use and it gives me a very robust look at the employees in housing.

I dislike the disconnect between the tenant profile and the building tenant profile . I would love if the tenant profile held the information so I did not have to correct the issues manually with every employee switching units. the financial info and documents don't follow the tenant as much as the property Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy use of accounting, tenant management, tenant communications are made so easy, keeping track of owner financials and our companies financials separately is also great, along with being able to 1099 vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

the only dislike i have is the tracking of security deposits and it being added to an owners monthly financials and there not being able to have a separate ledger just to track them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are looking for something relatively inexpensive but moderately feature rich, sure. Buildium can work if you have hours to spend figuring it out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used Buildium every day for 6 months now and it is incredibly difficult to navigate and all data points are completely disconnected in the interface. It's nearly impossible to get efficient support answers - my 2 current urgent issues have been outstanding for 10 days. I learned AppFolio in less than a week (and build software myself) but still have to look up Help articles for nearly every single task. There is not a single other piece of software I have used that is so frustrating. Buildium is also missing many key but simple features - like the ability for a property to exist without a unit, the ability to map 2 line items of a bill paid to 1 bank account transaction, true support for "additional occupants," separate expiration dates for vendor insurances, the ability to record an e-transaction or bill pay once and have it reflected automatically across all accounts, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There have been some upgrades which doesn't allow us to move from picture to picture in our move out reports. Once we click on the picture it takes you out of the report and I have to log back in to the task to access again Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
