What is Brandfolder, and what problem is it built to solve?

Brandfolder is used as a central library for organizing, finding, and sharing digital and brand assets. Teams use it to keep approved, current materials accessible to colleagues and external partners.

What languages does Brandfolder support?

Brandfolder supports 23 languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and others.

What company sizes and industries is Brandfolder the best fit for?

Brandfolder is used by positive-sentiment users across small, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with activity spanning several industries. The most visible clusters include:
  • Company sizes: Small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, manufacturing, computer software, food and beverages, and nonprofit organizations.

How long does it take to implement Brandfolder across a team?

Implementation can be quick for teams with a straightforward setup, while larger libraries and migration or taxonomy work can extend the rollout. The most common go-live ranges include:
Time to go live Relative frequency
1–3 months Most common
3–6 months Also common
Under 1 month Common
6–12 months Reported less often
More than 12 months Reported occasionally

What customer support options does Brandfolder provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Brandfolder provides support through email, phone, and chat, with 24/7 live-rep support also available. The support experience is mixed: users value knowledgeable, helpful assistance and guided onboarding, while others describe slow responses, inconsistent follow-through, or difficulty getting technical issues resolved.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Brandfolder from another tool?

Switching to Brandfolder has often meant moving from general file-storage tools such as Dropbox, SharePoint, Box, and Google Drive, or from other DAM platforms. The change is driven by a need for more purposeful asset organization, easier search and sharing, stronger control over current versions, or a more approachable interface; users describe better self-service and a more centralized source for brand materials, though organizing and migrating a large library can take planning.

What tools and platforms does Brandfolder integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Brandfolder offers 2 listed integrations. The integrations named in use include:
  • Creative tools: Adobe InDesign and Canva.
These connections can make assets easier to access within creative workflows and reduce app switching; the Canva connection is appreciated, while experiences with Adobe-related integrations can vary in ease of use.

What features or capabilities could make Brandfolder even more useful?

Brandfolder could be more useful with a more intuitive, flexible experience for finding and managing assets. Recurring improvement requests include:
  • Make search and filtering more forgiving and easier for casual users to navigate.
  • Simplify bulk uploading, editing, and asset organization to reduce repetitive administrative work.
  • Expand customization for templates, sharing, and collaboration features such as boards and collections.
  • Provide clearer, more detailed reporting on asset usage.

How useful do Brandfolder users find its AI features in everyday use?

Brandfolder’s AI-assisted tagging and visual recognition can help speed up asset cataloging and make files easier to find, but the day-to-day value depends on the content and tagging needs. Users appreciate the time saved on broad visual categorization, while noting that tags can be inaccurate or too generic for specialized terms and may need manual review.
  • Automated asset organization: AI-assisted tagging and metadata suggestions.
  • Visual discovery: Image recognition and AI-supported search.

Is Brandfolder considered safe and secure for handling data?

Brandfolder is used to share approved assets with controls over who can access them, and users value being able to manage permissions and share assets securely. That can help teams avoid distributing outdated or unauthorized materials, though configuring fine-grained access can feel cumbersome and some users want more flexible controls.

"Hard to look for things even using the exact name of the file"

What do you like best about Brandfolder?

Sharing files or document with vendors, third party partners and external folks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brandfolder?

I've uploaded countless files into brandfolder but the search functionality can continue to be improved. I've tried looking up a file using the exact name and it produce many results but not quite the exact file popping up. I even tried toggling the filter and search settings but it can be a bit frustrating to work on. I would also think having an image search functionality would help. Brandfolder can already track duplication in the system, it shouldn't be hard to incorporate image search as part of functionality.

While I love the functionality of having no duplicates, it's hard as designer trying to upload one indesign working file that have links to multiple images but then if some of the images are deleted in the upload process because it's a duplicate, it'll be hard to track down the image. It's not a package system that automatically links the duplicate image instead whoever have to work with the indesign file will have to open the file and see that links to images are missing and then go into the brand folder to spent 5,000 thousands years to look for the image but typing the same exact name of the images might not populate that exact image so overall really hinders the process.

I highly recommend working with designers who uses photoshops, indesign, illustrator, after effects. Any of the people who work with Adobe will have feedback. Love brandfolder but it have a lot of area for improvement, I'd start with image search functionality like Google image. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's a great Digital Asset Management Platform"
4/5
What do you like best about Brandfolder?

If you label everything the right way, and you keep things organized and tidy it is very easy to use, to share files, to collaborate, easy to access and hold many files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brandfolder?

it does not have AI built in, so it wont show me similar images of the image I'm using, or looking at. It'd be great to know how many times the file was downloaded and who downloaded it the last time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brandfolder?

Smartsheet. Every year they feel that we needed to pay a significant increase to continue with limited new features, or try to lock us into a multi-year deal. It feels very much like a "predatory sales" tactic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brandfolder can solve all of your DAM problems"
4/5
What do you like best about Brandfolder?

Brandfolder is easy to learn, easy to use, and allows for information across multiple platforms to be updated instantaneously. Took very little time for us to set up and get running and easily integrate media into our website. We now use Brandfolder daily as we add or update content across our website and disseminate sales information to our Sales team. The Brandfolder representatives were also extremely helpful during set up and later as we looked to upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brandfolder?

Brandfolder is one of those platforms that can very easily snowball out of control if you don't have well established protocols/guidelines for your admins and editors as well as a gameplan on how you want to arrange and organize your media. Not inherently the problem of Brandfolder, but check and balances are needed so it doesn't become your looking for needles in the haystack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
