"Still the one cloud sync solution I turn to"
What do you like best about Box?

What's not to love? It does not steal my data, does not sell my info to thrid parties and provides me with secure servers to backup my critical (and useless) data. Plenty of space on the free plan for you to make sure your Documents and Pictures folders are fully backed up (unless you're a hoarder, of course). Desktop sync is easy to set up and quite reliable. There are apps for all the major platforms (R.I.P. Palm, BB and BB10 but they where there when those were not EOL'd). The paid plans are affordable and do offer quality of life features the free plan could use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

My dislikes are less about the BOX app than to the fact that the integration BB10/BOX had left everything else feeling like a poor knockoff - including their own Android app. I don't think Android (Google) would ever let them have that level of integration with the system, so this is kinda not on them. it is now 2024 and that sentiment has not changed.

They should update their plans. It's 2024. BOX still treats user data as if it was 2012. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"BOX gets the job done, but is a huge animal to deal with if it doesn't meet your needs"
What do you like best about Box?

BOX allows us to store files on a cloud server, providing easy and instant access worldwide, including support for mobile devices and desktop access. Our business account has infinite storage, so there is no worry about running out or upgrading space. The interface is easy to understand, and most users adapt very quickly. I generally require very little training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Box has waterfall permissions for files, which you should understand before signing up. You cannot restrict files within a folder that someone can access at a higher level. Waterfall permissions can make file organization somewhat challenging. Additionally, add-ons to BOX are quite expensive. BOX advertises all this awesome stuff you can do, but you don't realize that a lot of it is a costly add-on until later. Once you activate the add-on, there is no trial period. You are stuck paying for it for a year, even if the add-on doesn't work for you. Finally, I feel that BOX caters more to large organizations than to small businesses.

Finally, with the advent of 4K video and better technology, it's getting harder and harder to upload large videos. You have to pay more, and you can't upgrade for just one user. So, if you have 30 users and only one needs to upload large videos, you have to pay extra for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
