Azure is one of the more security rich provider in terms of their networking, which is one of the many reasons I prefer Azure, for peace of mind. I can manage which local IP my virtual machine can get binded to, and that local IP will translate to a public IP. This allows less interference with public IP networks and even also local IP networks because I can see all of my occupied IPs in one place. Any unauthorized IP or connection can be easily disabled by us without having to restart the entire machine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some applications I’m running are incompatible with this type of network they’re using. Sometimes applications set up can get complicated because they need to allocate more local IPs but with this strict networking wall in place, I can’t really bind easily to these IPs because they’re private IPs, and some bad programmers hard code it in their application to not allow private IP without considering Azure networking for instance. It can be confusing to set up at first, knowing that you gotta pass through another network layer before reaching the internet, but that’s all in the name of security. Ah, Azure! I really enjoy working with Azure cloud and setting up virtual network. It seems like its very intuitive for me if you know even the basic networking. It's not as confusing as that of Amazon's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Azure VNets are simple to manage and customize. Azure's documentation is very helpful and filled with use cases or examples. You can utilize the network from across resource groups and Azure services (such as Azure SQL). VNets are easy to secure and connect to other networks (on-prem or cloud).
