What is Azalea Health?

Azalea provides an electronic health record (EHR) platform, practice management (PM), revenue cycle management (RCM) and telehealth solutions for ambulatory and hospital care settings. Designed for efficiency, the cloud-based infrastructure drives cost savings in hardware, speeds deployment and training time, and increases application availability. Azalea is suitable for community and rural health care settings, including multiple speciality practices. Azalea EHR is 2015 ONC certified and supports Promoting Interoperability (PI). Users can document SOAP notes, send orders and capture billing from a single screen. The HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform is fully integrated and enables real-time charting. Patient records can be accessed at home, in the practice or in the hospital. Azalea also offers a fully-integrated mobile application, appointment reminders and patient portal. A data integrity validation feature will check various field entries (such as date of birth, insurance, and address) and then notify users of inaccuracies.

What do you like best?

The software is cheap. But then you get what you pay for! Actually, no. You could get a substantially better software system for the money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Everything is a work-around. Nothing works like it is supposed to so you waste time chasing things that don't need any attention in a mediocre EHR. You constantly have to edit things, change nothing, then save again to get simple tasks to work. No good place to put a phone note. Referrals are absolutely useless. Free telehealth programs work much better and are easier for the patient. Scheduling and viewing the daily schedule are two totally different views. Charts get accidentally opened often. Encounters can't be deleted without many steps. Unsigned notes are allowed to be 'readied' for billing. Uses Dr. First for medication management. Diagnosis are not communicated with Dr. First and azalea. Can't view the pharmacy that prescriptions are sent to. Reports are worthless even on the rare occasion that they work. There is no real way to utilize data so that, for instance, diabetic patients can be easily identified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Don't do it. There are better choices out there that will benefit your practice and your patients. This software really offers nothing that resembles a modern EHR. What do you like best?

The organization and easy to read schedule face is helpful. The ease of rescheduling by clicking and dragging is convenient. The ability to leave short comments on each appointment time is incredibly useful (“John just got married, tell him congratulations” “This patient is very specific, be sure to have the room ready when they get here”) and the comments section on each chart provides ample space for more detailed notes. What do you dislike?

At least twice an hour the system freezes. Whether this lasts 10 seconds or 10 minutes is always unpredictable. While tech support is prompt and courteous, the answer is almost always “an outage, nothing we can do but wait”. This outage means the entire azalea system is frozen for all staff members, so unless you have paper charts and schedules as a backup, there’s going to be a complete stop in your office until the system is back up. It’s frustrating and embarrassing to tell patients our system isn’t up at the moment and all we can do is wait. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface allows for much easier scheduling, especially when scheduling long series of appointments. This solved our issue of having to sit down with patients for 30 minutes at a time scrolling through the months and trying to find open spaces. What do you like best?

I have been practicing for over 20 years. Moving from paper charting to electronic records, I have worked with 4 EHR companies. Azalea Health is, by far, the best I've utilized. Customization for my practice was easier than any other company. Being able to offer potential adjustments or additions to the platform has NEVER happened with other companies. They have their pretty white box and that's what you get. Azalea Health listens to their clients and, whenever possible, try to incorporate changes/improvements to their system. What do you dislike?

Occasionally, the system will slow down. When this happens, it usually improves if we clear our browser cache/memory. I wish we didn't have to do this but, with a cloud based system, and all that data being transferred, it is a necessary item to have to do regardless of which system you use. Having been able to be a part of the customization of our end product, we were able to stream line our paper charting to electronic with little disruption to our clinicians. Their documentation is improved (and legible). Billing is nearly as seamless.

What do you like best?

1. Very easy highly customizable interface. 2All the menu options on one screen.

3. Web based and lightning high speed with good internet connection

4. Access from anywhere.

5. Interface with Dr. First is so good, refilling and prescring meds is very fast including restricted substance.

We have increased provider productivity using the recall feature. It allows us to remind staff of treatment plan reviews. Further, our admin team uses recall reports to reach out to patients about follow up appointments. What do you like best?

The systems are very easy to navigate and very user friendly. You can always talk to a representative when needed and they support each client. I was introduced to the system with very little knowledge of the EHR and was able to navigate through it on my first day of use. I have not found any part that I dislike. There can always be improvements in every system, but this system is very smart and the more you stay in it, the more you learn each day. Each time we discuss an item of dislike with our support team from Azalea, they give us a solution to fix the isssue or give us guidance on the time frame it will be until that item is introduced to all. What do you like best?
