Everything is a work-around. Nothing works like it is supposed to so you waste time chasing things that don't need any attention in a mediocre EHR. You constantly have to edit things, change nothing, then save again to get simple tasks to work. No good place to put a phone note. Referrals are absolutely useless. Free telehealth programs work much better and are easier for the patient. Scheduling and viewing the daily schedule are two totally different views. Charts get accidentally opened often. Encounters can't be deleted without many steps. Unsigned notes are allowed to be 'readied' for billing. Uses Dr. First for medication management. Diagnosis are not communicated with Dr. First and azalea. Can't view the pharmacy that prescriptions are sent to. Reports are worthless even on the rare occasion that they work. The organization and easy to read schedule face is helpful. The ease of rescheduling by clicking and dragging is convenient. The ability to leave short comments on each appointment time is incredibly useful (“John just got married, tell him congratulations” “This patient is very specific, be sure to have the room ready when they get here”) and the comments section on each chart provides ample space for more detailed notes. At least twice an hour the system freezes. Whether this lasts 10 seconds or 10 minutes is always unpredictable. While tech support is prompt and courteous, the answer is almost always “an outage, nothing we can do but wait”. This outage means the entire azalea system is frozen for all staff members, so unless you have paper charts and schedules as a backup, there’s going to be a complete stop in your office until the system is back up. From the charging genius, utilization staff to specialized help, I have never associated for assistance without getting a brief response. I have been practicing for over 20 years. Moving from paper charting to electronic records, I have worked with 4 EHR companies. Azalea Health is, by far, the best I've utilized. Customization for my practice was easier than any other company. Being able to offer potential adjustments or additions to the platform has NEVER happened with other companies. They have their pretty white box and that's what you get. Azalea Health listens to their clients and, whenever possible, try to incorporate changes/improvements to their system. Occasionally, the system will slow down. When this happens, it usually improves if we clear our browser cache/memory. I wish we didn't have to do this but, with a cloud based system, and all that data being transferred, it is a necessary item to have to do regardless of which system you use. The systems are very easy to navigate and very user friendly. You can always talk to a representative when needed and they support each client. I was introduced to the system with very little knowledge of the EHR and was able to navigate through it on my first day of use. I have not found any part that I dislike. There can always be improvements in every system, but this system is very smart and the more you stay in it, the more you learn each day. Each time we discuss an item of dislike with our support team from Azalea, they give us a solution to fix the isssue or give us guidance on the time frame it will be until that item is introduced to all.
