This product is arguably the market leader for data replication and change data capture (CDC). Yes there are always a few features that you would like due to an ever evolving data landscape and innovations in the industry but Attunity are very quick to listen to their customers - having had several conversations with their head of R&D. In addition my account manager is always a pleasure to speak to and I've never felt I've been oversold a solution, rather acquiring tools that are fit for purpose and extremely flexible. Kerberos installations can be tricky when integrating to Hadoop but support are fast to respond. We had suffered slower performance when replicating large XML fields, text / notes fields but this is now resolved with Replicate 6.x and parallel processing.
What do you dislike?
Less about Attunity Replicate more about the source system dependencies e.g. SQL Server needs to be in Full Recovery Mode for CDC, if you backup strategy includes Log Backups there is now a dependency on this and when logs are truncated
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a very unique product and it caters to all the data replication/migration needs. It will be a good decision to associate with Attunity.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
There are other incumbents in the market, e.g. Informatica Power Exchange, IBM InfoSphere (formerly Data Mirror and part of Data Stage), Oracle Golden Gate, but Attunity Replicate is wholly agnostic to the source and target technology and in my opinion the best of breed. Both pre and post sales support are excellent.
