Their pay per phish cost model turns implementation into low risk. We installed it behind our existing spam/phish filter with the understanding it would only catch what the other systems missed. Since there is no long term lock in, it allowed us to test out this new service with very little risk. We negotiated an acceptable maximum yearly cost to the service and have so far found that the overall blocking rate is worth the additional cost of the service. It doesn't catch everything, but we have seen significant improvements over the past 6 months of usage.

Area 1 does a great job and understanding the difference between phishing and BEC use cases and breaking them out and filtering them from user interaction. The granular reporting capabilities of the data via the API are also well done. As with any newer offering and organization there are a number of opportunities to improve that will likely come with time. Improvement of the overall detection capabilities will come with time and data gathered. Improvement of the portal to allow an end to end reporting experience without need for API usage also will require some improvement. We have realized great cost to benefit ratio of the solution.
